Coming to Austin Simply Fit and training with Shay has been one of the best decisions I’ve made for my health and fitness. From day one, she’s been incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and encouraging. She takes the time to understand your goals, your limitations, and schedule. The sessions were always smart, personalized workouts that challenge you without feeling overwhelming.
What really sets Shay apart is her ability to adapt. Whether I’ve needed to move a session around or work through an injury, she’s always flexible and solution-oriented. You can tell she genuinely cares about your progress, and she’s constantly offering helpful tips on form, nutrition, and recovery.
I’ve made consistent progress since starting with her– if you’re looking for someone who knows their stuff, motivates you the right way, and makes fitness something you look forward to, I can’t recommend Shay enough!

Looking for an amazing, knowledgable trainer, then Jason is your guy. I started with Jason to help me begin my fitness journey of weight loss and strength training. I knew nothing about the gym, but I knew I wanted to start my fitness journey. Jason is patient, kind, knowledgeable, and encouraging. Not only did Jason work around my schedule, he understood my goals, and makes fitness fun! With Jason, he will encourage you to step outside your comfort zone to achieve and exceed the results you desire. I can honestly say, I actually enjoy exercising and staying consistent. Everyone needs a trainer like Jason. Five stars … highly recommended.

I have been working out at Austin simply fit for nearly ten months and I love it. I train with Shay and she is great – enthusiastic, challenges me, and also somehow remembers details about my life and travels we have discussed over the past year. I have met my weight loss goals but more importantly I can see a real difference in my muscle tone and shape. Highly recommend!

Danny Costa has been my trainer for two years! I had a bad piriformis and knee injury from a gym accident 4 years ago; it made it hard to work with, let alone workout with. Danny is very knowledgeable and worked patiently with me to get me stronger in a sustainable way, giving me helpful advice and exercises to follow even outside the gym. Even when I was going through high stress period in personal life, I felt extra supported and motivated to not miss out on a workout. Highly recommend Danny! ♡

I’ve been working with Shay for over 6 months now, and I’ve really appreciated her thoughtful and professional approach. She takes the time to listen — not just at the start, but throughout the process — and that’s made a big difference in how the training has evolved to suit my goals and needs.
What stands out most is how supportive and attentive she is. Shay and the trainers at Austin Simply Fit are not just running through a standard routine — every session feels purposeful and well-planned, with adjustments made based on progress being made. It’s clear she genuinely cares about her clients’ progress and well-being, both physically and overall health.
Training with Shay has helped me stay consistent, build confidence, and actually enjoy the process. I’d recommend Shay to anyone looking for a trainer who’s knowledgeable, reliable, and a pleasure to train with.

I highly recommend Flow Yoga because of the multiple locations, different styles of yoga & for their awesome/patient instructors. I’ve had a positive experience while relieving myself of pain from osteoarthritis through out my body. I took advantage of the $30 for 30 day trial membership. Enjoyed the environment so much that I’ve signed up for regular monthly unlimited. Thank you Flow Yoga!

So lucky to have been a part of this beautiful community for the 30 day trial period they are currently offering! I spoke with the manager on my first day in and she was kind enough to inform me of the 30 days for $30 deal. She showed me around the studio and I was surprised to see they have everything a yogi needs (mats, bolsters, blocks, and blankets) available to borrow during every class. This creates a safe space and community for beginner and advanced yogi’s alike. I’ve been to four or five classes a week during my trial and every instructor at the Westgate location is extremely kind, knowledgeable, and patient; offering modified poses throughout the class. The energy of everyone in the building is so warm and inviting. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Flow Yoga is such a great studio. There are so many different types of yoga classes, it has been fun to use my unlimited pass to experiment with new classes. All of the teachers are amazing. So happy they opened a new studio on South Congress.

Easily the best, most affordable, and most welcoming yoga studio I’ve ever been to! I just joined about a month ago on the new member plan, the fact that I’ve gone to dozens of classes already for only $30? … insane! Honestly, I think the unlimited plan is so so worth it if you’re looking to go more than once a week, too. I used to frequent another studio in austin and eventually stopped my membership because the cost was not sustainable for me and I never really.. clicked with the classes. Every class there either felt too challenging or too relaxing. But here, I don’t feel that at all! Every single teacher has been so welcoming, always include plenty of options to modify poses and have very unique touches to their classes. Plus the actual space is gorgeous at the Westgate studio!! I’ve already renewed my membership for the next month and can easily see myself staying for a long time to come <3

I practiced yoga fairly regularly about 15 years ago, and after a long break, I’m just now getting back into it. From the moment I walked into the studio, I felt welcomed and supported. All of the instructors are incredibly kind, encouraging, and attentive. They offer thoughtful guidance and always give helpful options for modifications, which has made easing back into my practice feel approachable and empowering.
The facilities are beautiful—clean, calming, and truly zen – it’s a peaceful space that makes it easy to tune out the outside world.

I LOVE trufusion. there’s a ton of classes to choose from. the instructors are super friendly and accommodating. even the front desk people and cleaning crew seem happy to be there. Clean studios & great instructions! The ladies at the front desk are kind & helpful. A huge variety of classes to choose from! Something for everyone. My first class was with Alex Denny, she gives you the push you need, helps build up endurance! Reveals places you can focus more strength training on. Won’t be my last!

Absolutely loved coming here for the classes (specifically spin & yoga) the coaches are very friendly and engaging….
However, in this market if you’re concerned at all about your job, do not get a membership. They have a policy that they will take an additional 2 payments automatically even if you cancel, and their membership can be very pricey and changing if you do not have a job. (laid off in May, cancelled in June… still paying for my membership in August).

Long time lurker , I always hesitated to join because I live in southeast Austin and didnt want to make the drive but I’m so glad I finally took a class and became a member. The instructors are awesome , classes are always available , they have a 4 hour cancellation period which is much better than the 24 hour period most studios require. Everyone from the staff to the members are nice and welcoming.

Absolutely love this gym! The space is clean, well-designed, and surprisingly well-equipped for its size—don’t let that fool you. They’ve packed in everything you need for a full workout, and there’s even a great outdoor area for training when the weather’s nice.
I had the pleasure of working with Corey, and I can’t say enough good things. He’s not just a great trainer—he’s incredibly knowledgeable about the human body and how it works, and he brings that expertise into every session. His approach blends physical training with a deep understanding of mindset, motivation, and personal goals. I truly felt supported, challenged, and constantly learning.
I recently had to relocate out of state, otherwise I would’ve continued working with Corey in a heartbeat. If you’re considering personal training here, I highly recommend booking with him. You won’t regret it!

I met with Chris to work on a plan, and it was a great experience. He is very friendly, professional, knowledgeable, answered all my questions, and gave me great information. The gym is great; it has lots of equipment, it’s clean, and the atmosphere is chill and friendly. I usually find gyms intimidating and uncomfortable, but this one had a completely different vibe, people are working hard but it’s a relaxed setting. Chris takes time to assess where your fitness level is, understand your goals, and tailor a plan for you. Definitely recommend.

Very comprehensive intake process to help identify goals and how to achieve them. It has been great getting to know Chris and training with Corey. Corey has also helped to alter my workouts as I’m working through an injury. I’ve had awesome results. Highly recommend!

I’ve been working with Corey since January and he’s been awesome! I’ve had a few trainers elsewhere in the past and there was a lot of guesswork to routine and diet that had me discouraged, but Corey has taken the guesswork completely out of the equation. He’s really put time and effort into helping me in my fitness journey and I couldn’t be more thankful. I’ve been able to crush my fitness goals and push myself towards new goals with Corey’s help.
In addition to Corey being a fantastic trainer, I’ve loved the gym itself. In other gyms I’ve felt out of place, but I feel like Evolve has been truly welcoming. I also don’t feel like I’m fighting to use equipment I need, which is an added bonus. I’m able to easily work through my sets and there’s plenty of equipment to work with.

I’ve had such a great experience at this gym. It’s always clean, well-organized, and stocked with everything you could possibly need for a great workout, whether you’re into strength training, cardio, etc. I’ve been training with Corey S., and I can’t recommend him enough. Corey’s knowledge of health and fitness is broad and deep, and he’s incredibly skilled at creating workout plans that are tailored and individualized. Every session feels fresh and challenging, with a wide mix of exercises that keep things interesting. He’s also a great resource for advice on supplements, nutrition, sleep, recovery, and all things related to overall health. Corey also strikes a balance between being easygoing and approachable while still keeping things professional and focused. If you’re looking for a top-notch trainer and a gym that has it all, I can’t recommend Corey and this place enough. My time here has been nothing short of excellent, and I’m genuinely grateful for the progress I’ve made.

Great gym! Lots of routes that are updated weekly and maintained, including a kids area which is quite large. You can rent climbing shoes or buy from the store! The store sells chalk and bags and shoes… they have got it all covered.
They have a large weight room for strength training and host yoga classes, as well.
The locker room/restrooms are clean and offer showers and cold plunge.
Once a month they host parents night out from 5-10. Kids get to climb, eat pizza, and watch movies.

My experience as a woman who sometimes climbs:
Staff: At the front desk they well assist with any questions or give you anything you ask for like chalk. They aren’t friendly like at Westgate – no smiling or welcoming statements. The instructors for fitness classes are fine. They give good classes and will hang back to talk after class.
Climbing: it’s so spacious and there are tons of options for climbs. I really enjoy climbing here because it never gets old. There are LOTS more climbers at this location and it can feel a bit crazy. Also, this location tends to always have children running around unsupervised who hang out below climbers or start a route that causes you to stop for safety. I think it’s bc of the birthday parties or no staff oversight as to how parents control their kids in the main space.
Fitness: I’ve only been to the mobility classes and they are fine – off to the side in a separate room but it’s a small space. The yoga classes gets PACKED without an inch to spare.
The gym: I like that it has space for alternative types of training like acrobatics, locomotion, mobility. Seems to be fine with the equipment options.
Locker rooms: clean, spacious, convenient. My main complaint is that the sauna is always ruined by people who don’t read the sign outside because it’s small and the wording is tiny. Hence, they they don’t shower, undress, enter with a phone in use, and talk – all major no-nos for sauna etiquette. Every single time I come I end up leaving bc of this. **Please make a better sign to educate people on this!***
Parking: I know it’s terrible but you get creative.
Upstairs space: nice for chilling out or practicing some movements on the open floor space.

The best bouldering gym I’ve personally visited. The route setting is super creative and the higher grades get you to do a lot without just falling back on making the holds harder. There are enough routes that it’s hard to even try everything in the gym in a single session, and with access to two gyms in the Austin area, you essentially never run out.
The Bouldering Project also features youth training areas and tension boards, a yoga studio, and a full traditional gym space. There are multiple yoga and fitness classes on a regular schedule. The showers are well maintained and supplied, and there’s even a sauna and an ice plunge.
The only downsides are that it is very expensive, and in the summertime it gets very hot. I find that I can only comfortably climb for a couple of hours in the early morning- any later in the day and I’m sweating buckets. But it’s still a worthwhile investment in terms of both health and fitness and the social opportunities it provides. Definitely one of my favourite places to spend time.

First impression: there is a lot of slab in this gym. I’ve never seen a gym with this much slab. The gym is like 65% slab. There is not much overhang, but there’s a nice cave. There are at least two top out boulders. Built very fancy, like the other Boulder Projects, but this one felt a little dirty. Love the soft mats, makes me feel more confident in the top outs. There are a lot of volumes.
My visit was a mixed experience. I went on a Thursday night, it was very crowded. Not one person talked to me, however, I tried to start a few conversations, but nothing carried. The people seemed friendly, but most people were already with friends, and no one was really talking about climbing or climbing hard. I came to train hard, so I was a little disappointed I didn’t find people to climb with. The routesetting is good, but the holds were very large. There are a lot of jugs in this gym. When I was expecting a bad crimp, it was a full one pad 4 finger bucket. Several of the climbs felt soft. The feet are very good in this gym. There were several dynamic problems. There’s a comp training area, and comp problems mixed throughout the gym, however, the quality of the comp problem holds did not seem very good. In terms of the hold quality, there’s a mix of super nice fiberglass holds, some nice plastic, and some old plastic holds. There were not many brushes in the gym. The store had a very good selection of chalk, and I bought a bag.
My favorite part of the experience was the routesetting, and my least favorite thing was gym culture. Next time I’m in Austin, I would not go back to this gym if I was alone again. However, in a group this would be a fun gym. I genuinely hope that they will improve the stoke in this gym. Compared to west coast gyms, and even other gyms in Texas, this was a pretty disappointing experience.

I brought my young kids to climb here and they absolutely loved it! My son is usually nervous to try new things but he gained a lot of confidence in himself as he was climbing. It was also great for problem solving! Unsurprisingly, my son wanted to celebrate his birthday here and the party packages are very reasonable. The party was low-stress and everyone enjoyed themselves. They even help you set up, take down, (Iike a coordinator), so I really appreciated them! Thank you so much, ABP! (Springdale)

I’ve been going to CrossFit Renew for almost a decade now and it’s been a great experience. The coaches really know what they’re doing—they take time to explain movements and make sure you’re doing things safely, which I appreciate. The community is a big part of why I keep showing up—I actually look forward to going to the gym every day, which hasn’t always been the case for me. Overall, it’s a great spot if you’re looking for challenging workouts, a great community, and coaches who know their stuff.

I did CrossFit Renew’s postpartum program: “Rebuild.” The first six weeks of personal training restored confidence in my ability to use my core muscles. I had not planked in 8 years, because I was so afraid of doing it wrong and hurting my already fragile postpartum core. I did this program 3 years after my third (and last) baby. I am so thankful to have found Coaches (Sadie & Jess) that understand the postpartum body and how to build muscle safely and effectively! I am stronger, more confident and more knowledgeable!

We’re recent transplants to Austin and I’m so glad we found CrossFit Renew (and that it’s close to our house)! The community is so welcoming and friendly. The programming (CrossFit affiliate) is challenging enough even for accomplished athletes, but with plenty of modifications for every fitness and skill level. And class times that fit our schedule! We love it here.

It’s still a journey , I don’t think I’ve reached my goals yet, but what the program has done is create awareness and understanding and a path to build off of. I’ve also been including the accountability perspective to all aspects of my life and it has elevated my quality of life overall.

I first moved to the Austin area last year and was looking to get back into the gentle art as I took a long hiatus from training. John’s Gym welcomed me with open arms and offer a variety of options for anyone of any stage in training. It is also nice and convenient that you are able to train at any of the three locations without additional fees.
I would strongly recommend their gym to anyone looking to pursue or continue training in BJJ as well as their other sports offered!

My son has been training at John’s Gym for a few months now, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. We initially enrolled him to help him with his focus and discipline, but the benefits have extended far beyond that.
One of the most surprising and beneficial outcomes of his training has been how boxing has helped his baseball game. The footwork, hand-eye coordination, and rotational power he’s developed in boxing class have translated directly to the baseball field. His swing has become more powerful and his throws are more accurate. It’s truly amazing to see the crossover benefits.
The coaches at John’s Gym are fantastic. They are patient, knowledgeable, and create a positive and encouraging environment for all the students. Shout out to Kylie too, who was patient getting us signed up and super communicative. 😉
I highly recommend John’s Gym to anyone looking for a top-notch mixed martial arts and especially, boxing for kids.

I first went to John’s Gym on suggestion from a work acquaintance. I found the gym especially awesome! I find the instructors and fellow teammates encouraging and engaging. I found training in the stand-up striking arts of Boxing and Muay Thai increased my physical conditioning, striking skill, confidence and improved my focus and concentration. From time to time I also worked in some BJJ. The BJJ instructors are accomplished and the more experienced teammates provide timely and critical instructions. I am NOT a younger dude and enjoyed training with men and women of all ages (kids have their own times and events separate from the adults). Each person is treated with respect and provided with tons of opportunity to improve technique and skill level. I recommend John’s Gym to EVERYONE. You will improve your physical and mental conditioning and gather some confidence and hands on experience in the fighting arts!

I joined John’s Gym two years ago with zero experience in Jiu Jitsu. From that day forward I’ve never even considered going anywhere else.
John’s gym is always clean, has a great vibe, and the instructors are excellent! Both the guys and girls who train here are friendly, respectful, and whether you’re a black belt or first day white belt they will make you feel welcome. There are no egos/drama—just a great community where everyone is here to learn, get a workout, and have fun.
The owners, Kylie and James are some of the best people you’ll ever meet. We are a few weeks away from our first baby and I can’t wait to get her training with James who runs the kids classes. I’ve talked to him quite a bit and you can tell he loves teaching the kids and going to the competitions. Can’t wait for that!
I can’t recommend John’s Gym enough—it’s more than just a gym, it’s a community and one I plan to be a part of for a very long time! 10/10!

I’ve been training at this MMA gym for years, and I can confidently say it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The coaching is truly top-tier—every coach is incredibly knowledgeable, detail-oriented, and genuinely invested in helping each student improve. The technique taught here is outstanding, whether you’re training for fitness, self-defense, or competition.
What really sets this gym apart is the diverse and welcoming community. You’ll find people from all walks of life—different backgrounds, skill levels, and goals—who come together to train, learn, and push each other in a positive and respectful environment. It’s a place where you can grow both physically and mentally, and where the culture of hard work and mutual support is real.
If you’re looking for an MMA gym with world-class coaching, high-level technique, and a great team atmosphere, this is the place.

Before I left for my procedure, I actually enjoyed my time at Johns gym executing different techniques from body blows to jabs. Still have hopes of returning if we relocate back to the Austin area. Kylie took the time to inform you of the different programs they offer there to assist in your choice.Thank you….. Coach Ernesto and the boxing team were Great! Even though they taught group work, workout training, and exercise, they saved space to allow you time in the ring for a few bouts of sparring. Absolutely Amazing! Thanks for the experience. I’m really hoping for a return. ~Take Care!

Incredible room with, not only tough training partners but smiles all around once training is over. I really felt like this group of practitioners wanted to be there, to learn, and to push themselves. The instructional portion was very informative and palatable as well. 10/10 recommend if you live in the Austin area.

I had a friend recommend this academy to me. This academy is a great academy if you like me are fairly new to the world of BJJ. The technique and instruction time is great, and the coaches walk around while drilling to make sure we really understand. Extended live rounds at the end of each class mean not only a good workout but lots of time putting into practice your overall game plan, both from a self defense and a sport Jiu Jitsu perspective. Lastly, the higher belts are all super friendly. Granted, as a beginner, you’ll still get smashed (there’s no avoiding that really), but their goal is not to punish. They let you work in the various positions you find yourself in, and rolling with the black belts led to some bonus instruction and feedback directly relevant to my “style”. Overall I would recommend this academy to anyone in the Austin area.

I traveled to Austin for work and wanted to drop in to Paragon for a class. I emailed them, and Laura was very pleasant and gave me all their class info. They have clean loaner gis too, which is a huge plus! The Monday evening class was pretty big with a good variety of both men and women of all belt colors. All the students were extremely nice and welcoming. All in all a very clean and safe training environment. Slight downside is that there was no AC (just a bunch of fans) in like 98 degree weather in the summer… I was not used to that Texas heat! I would love to drop by again if work takes me back to Austin again.

I love this Academy. I moved to Austin and was really nervous about finding a Jiu-Jitsu school, but knew immediately after my first class that this was the place. Everyone was so welcoming and there are tons of other women to train with. I recommend it to anyone interested in starting Jiu-Jitsu. Coach Corey is awesome and very detail oriented.

I dropped in while on a business trip. Laura was very welcoming on the phone and at the front desk. Jose was very helpful and welcoming as well. What I really appreciated was the vibe. As a white belt, I had a couple purple belt students offer to drill with me. They were most helpful and patient, even teaching me some nuances that I would have otherwise missed. The gym is clean and the class was well attended. I will definitely be back and definitely recommend Paragon Austin.

I dropped in for a class at Paragon BJJ while in town for work- the staff were incredibly kind and professional when I emailed to ask about stopping by and when I first arrived. The class was full of very high-level students who welcomed me to train and spar with them throughout the evening. Paragon will continue to be my Jiu-jitsu stop when I’m in Austin

Love CyclebarWest5th! That’s why I travel 1 hr + to be in their classes. The customer service is top notch and everyone is very friendly! They invited me in with open arms and if I have any questions they are right on it with the answers. I have enjoyed the instructors, the music, and the vibe in class. I was there when the AC was out, but that did not take away the hard work my wife and I put in and we enjoyed it. This Cyclebar has a great location and plenty of covered parking! I will continue coming back!! Keep up the good work and see you all soon!

Love how welcoming and kind the team is here! Each class I’ve been to has been so challenging and fun, and every time I’ve been able to bring a friend for their first time, they always have a positive experience!
Most of the classes I’ve been able to attend have been with Jalyn and Kiona, and both ladies always have great energy and create an upbeat class atmosphere. And though I haven’t been able to take class with Jenna yet, she is always so helpful and easy to chat with! Thankful for the team and love riding at this location.

Be Fit Pilates is such a great studio! The gym itself is very nice — the machines are new, spotless, and well-maintained, which made the workout feel really comfortable and professional. The overall atmosphere is welcoming and calming, perfect for focusing on a good session.
Audrey was a fantastic instructor — super friendly, encouraging, and clear in her guidance. She really took the time to make sure everyone felt supported and got the most out of the class. I left feeling challenged but also energized, which is exactly what I look for in a workout.
Highly recommend Be Fit Pilates for anyone in Austin looking for a clean, modern space and knowledgeable, approachable instructors. I’m excited to come back!

I’ve tried a few different studio’s around Austin before signing up for a membership. This studio has the best instructors. They all have something different to offer in how they run their classes. No one gives you attitude or makes you feel lesser for not being able to do certain moves. They all give variations on how to make moves easier or harder, which gives great flexibility on getting the most from your workouts. Highly recommend this studio.

I love be fit SO MUCH. It’s my one of my favorite work outs in Austin. The instructors are awesome, they correct your form (I really appreciate this) and are positive! The classes fly by and are always a solid work out. I like how the moves go slower so you can actually work on form and feel the burn. Totally check it out if you haven’t yet!

Every class I’ve taken at BE Fit in The Grove has been incredibly challenging and such an effective workout. My core has never felt stronger. I’m a huge fan of Clair’s classes, particularly. Her playlist is energetic (much needed at 5:15am) and she shows little mercy. I get such an amazing workout from her classes. I also get enjoyment from how she refers to the machine, moves, body parts, etc. using feminine pronouns. It adds a nice touch of whimsy.

I’ve tried a few Pilates studios and this one is my favorite. All the instructors are so kind and helpful. The darkness is just right and not only is a great workout but it’s been a good way to unwind, especially with how good some of the music is too. I’ve been going 2x a week for a few months and feel like it’s just as challenging every time!
