Our first time to meet Brian. It was a good appointment. He is patient, professional and personable. Answered all our questions, gave suggestions for the future, and assured us of my progress. And he seemed genuinely interested in us as people. Having worked in multiple hospitals in Austin for 6 years he stands out to me as an exceptional health care professional. Truly enjoyed our time.

Very efficient operation. I arrived on time for my appointment and was seen by a medical assistant right away. The doctor was only a few minutes after. He looked over the form I filled out and asked focused questions about my habits. He suggested several alternatives for treatment. We settled on one, and he furnished me with three weeks supply. I made a follow up appointment for 3 weeks, which will be with a PA.

Sean is easy to work with. He clearly explains the data with me and will answer questions with ease about my health. I have a time sensitive issue I am working with and once I told Sean my situation, he kicked it in high gear and made all the necessary arrangements in the spot, which made me feel good and told me what a good PA-C Sean is. That was cool to witness. He’s a pleasure to work with. I gladly recommend Sean PA-C and Dr. Kansas, they’re a great team!

The staffs at the front desk went out of the way to help me secure an appointment with the doctor in a short amount of time. I cannot appreciate enough.
Doctor Friedberg was very kind, receptive and answered all my questions. He explained in detail about my condition and the treatment. I’m very satisfied with the experience overall. I would recommend this doctor to anyone in a heartbeat.
Thanks to the doctor and the facility.

My experience at Urology Austin was very pleasant. The staff is so nice and welcoming. My nurse, I can’t remember her name, was so cool and funny. It’s not always easy to visit a specialist doctor like the urologist but Dr. Singh was very easy to talk to and explained everything to me. He put me at ease and made the whole experience a breeze. I was very grateful for that.

Very Fast, efficient and friendly office!!! I literally sat down for 2 minutes before being called back. Dr. Trotter was great! Besides having a fun and witty personality, he was very knowledgeable, spent a lot of time with me and went above and beyond in explaining my situation. I would recommend Dr. Trotter and Midtown Urology to everyone needing help in this area!

Dr. Trotter is fantastic. Wonderful doctor. My only complaint is that during my last visit, I opted to receive “laughing gas” before my procedure (which I had to pay for out-of-pocket, since my insurance didn’t cover it). I feel that the concentration/potency of the gas was extremely weak (based on my past experiences with it). That was a disappointment and a waste of $100.

First, Dr. Trotter’s staff is exceptional–both competent and personable. Second, Dr. Trotter is an excellent communicator. He quickly grasped the complexity of my health history and simplified the explanations but with complete respect for my intelligence. He reviewed my prior radiological reports and gave me clear options going forward. Based on this, I am giving him and his clinic the highest recommendation.

Customer Reviews
The 4.9 stars is extremely high for a doctor’s office, and also very well deserved. I came in for a second opinion after a negative experience at Urology Austin, regarding a diagnosis of some distressing symptoms I’ve been experiencing.
Every person in this office is having a great day and loves their job, seriously love to see it. The front desk girl was one of the nicest doctor’s office clerks I’ve ever seen, genuinely just a really pleasant and fun person to every person I saw check in. Showed up around an hour early because I was anxious to just get it over with and they brought me back within just a few minutes, so despite it being a busy practice they are handling office logistics really well. The intake nurse also had a great, helpful attitude.
And my experience with Dr. Julie Craig was also one of the best doctor interactions I’ve ever had. She took my concerns seriously, walked through my timeline of events, asked a ton of clarifying questions, and gave clear reasons for her diagnosis. And most importantly – she was an expert on the specific condition and gave me a *ton* of early treatment options for a condition that most doctors just say “wait and see”, including some experimental treatment options. Can’t believe I’m saying I look forward to seeing a doctor again, but I do look forward to seeing Dr. Craig again. She effectively removed months of health anxiety that was beginning to impact my daily life in just a single visit.
10/10 experience, all around. They somehow manage to be a busy practice, but also able to do next-day appointments, see you if you show up early, and also not rush your appointment to get to the next patient. Not sure how you can have all four of those things, but they do. It is clear from all the reviews they’ve already gotten – this office only hires the best, from the front desk all the way to the physicians/specialists.

This was my second visit with Julie Craig, NP and she definitely made sure all my questions were clearly answered before any procedure was made. I visited the office to discuss bloodwork results and treatment options. As always, PA Dustin Fortenot was thorough and provided an explanation of treatment options. He answered all my questions and allayed my concerns and together we made a plan for tests and treatments. Ethan was very efficient with the blood draw and was patient in answering my questions. The young lady at checkout was helpful in scheduling tests and was most congenial.

I have been seeing Dr Denson for five years now. Another doctor was trying to get my hormones sorted out but never really did. Dr Denson figured out what I needed and I felt so much better within a couple of months. Such a relief! Then, later, I had an issue with my bladder and she got me in and out of the hospital overnight during the pandemic due to an urgent medical issue. She was simply fantastic! I’ve never seen a doctor get things done as quickly as she did. I’m in my 60s and have had my fair share of medical issues but Dr Denson tops them all, as she is kind, compassionate, thorough, and communicates well. Occasionally I have to wait about 30-45 minutes to be called back but she is well worth the wait! You will love her and her staff!!!

Great experience. Front staff was very welcoming and helpful. My nurse and PA were both very professional and courteous. Doctor and nurse were very pleasant. Procedure was done without a hitch, quickly and expertly. My only complaint is that the lady at the front desk should use a little more discretion when speaking with the patient in regards to why they came in that day. She said the type of procedure I was getting pretty loudly so that the whole waiting room could hear it and I felt that was unnecessary. Other than that everything went well and I would recommend anyone going to this urologist.

I had an extremely sensitive procedure done today at NAU Urology Specialist on South Congress, near the Wm Cannon intersection. The medical assistants that check you in are very professional and friendly. I would also like to recognize Ingrid (Medical Specialist) for being so professional, helpful and informative while preparing me for my procedure. She did an outstanding job setting my mind at ease about the entire procedure. As did Leanora who actually did the procedure and explained in detail what the entire process would entail and how long it would take to complete. Leanora made me very comfortable in a rather extremely sensitive procedure. She was very patient with me and she explained step by step as to what she would be doing throughout the entire process. I have a great deal of respect for these 2 young women that did an outstanding job today being so professional and courteous. I would highly recommend my doctor, Dr Krieger to anyone needing to see a urologist and these 2 women, Ingrid and Leanora, for any in office procedures that would need to be done. I 100% trust NAU UROLOGY with any uroloical issues, diagnoses and procedures I may have and need.

First impression is not good. It is the day of my appointment. I went to the location they text me. It’s a physical therapy place. I called the number and hung up on me after being on hold forever. Just had vasectomy completed by Dr. Shaw and couldn’t have been any better. Being in medical sales all my career, you can tell when a Doc. has it. Dr Shaw has it! He was cool to talk to and a normal guy. Def would recommend him. I have no pain and minimal bruising.
I’m not going to ding him on his front office staff (not assistants) but they weren’t the greatest. Not going to get into but that would be the only “bad” experience I had.

I had a great experience here! I will be recommending this doctor to everyone who needs a vasectomy. The experience was nice and easy. Dr Shaw and his team made you feel comfortable. The procedure itself only took about 10mins. I recommend if you are thinking about a vasectomy, go to this Institute!

Dr. Shaw operated on me over a decade ago and left me with chronic testicular pain that I still deal with today. Instead of referring me to somebody more experienced, he put me through 3 back-to-back surgeries for a varicocele because he didn’t know what he was doing. Every urologist I see is shocked to learn what I’ve been through. I used to be a happy, optimistic person with goals in life. Now I’m miserable and have to continually drain my bank account on doctor visits and physical therapy.

Natasha and Alex are today’s heroes for us! You can’t imagine my elation, with all that my wife has been through in the last 9 months, when you freed her of that dang Foley catheter today! The joy on her face made me outwardly emotional and that’s not normal for me. Anyway, I could ramble on and on and I’m sure you guys already know how awesome you are! All the best to y’all! Have a great one!

The nurse practitioner that saw me was very nice and scheduled a CT scan. My follow-up appointment was within week and that was with an another person who was a nurse practitioner. Again I would think at a minimum at this point in time this is where you actually meet your doctor which in my case would’ve been Dr Shaw, but no I saw another nurse practitioner which I expressed my disappointment that a doctor was not seeing me for my CT follow-up.
The majority of my CT scan results were able to be communicated. There was one item That the nurse practitioner was not aware how to communicate the explanation. Net/net The results were inconclusive of what was the root cause of traces of blood in my Urine.
Even though, both nurse practitioners I met with were extremely professional, I feel that this doctors office is relying more on Nurse practitioners then providing customer service to their patients directly.
In the future, I will be Reaching out to Urologist that actually see their patients in person.

Very impressed. We are here visiting and my husband was experiencing some problems from previous surgery in Atlanta. We were able to get a same-day appointment with Dr. Varun Sundaram. Everyone was so nice and the doctor really listened and offered positive suggestions. It was a great experience.

One if my priorities after moving four months ago from Houston to Austin was to be able to connect to Dr Giesler (referral from Houston memorial urologist group, Dr A. Zelzman). The outcome of the first appointment with Dr. Giesler and his team has given me the needed confidence that I’ll be in good hands and be taking care of from now on about my benign prostate hyperplasia, kidney stone and ED symptoms in Austin Texas.

Dr. Sosland is always wonderful—her care and treatment are excellent. My only concern is the wait time, which was over an hour. I’m not sure if it’s due to over scheduling, but it would be great if they could be more mindful of patients’ time.

Dr. Sosland is in my opinion is a top notch doctor! Her caring , kind and bed side manner is the best. She truly cares and listens to your problem and proceeds with a plan of care and explains exactly what she is doing and why. As a patient this kind of care is what you expect but is very hard to find. God bless her for getting me fixed up after years of dealing with the same issues.

Dr. Sosland is incredible! I appreciated being listened to and feeling that my concerns were heard.; not dismissed as they had been in the past with a different MD. It was so much easier to talk with a woman, who understands. I actually burst into tears leaving her office as I felt so relieved.

They also manage conditions related to male infertility and female urinary problems.
Do I need a referral to see a urologist?
Whether or not you need a referral to see a urologist depends on your insurance plan. Some insurance companies require a referral from your primary care physician, while others do not. It’s essential to check with your insurance provider before scheduling an appointment to avoid unexpected billing surprises.

Becoming a urologist requires extensive training. After completing medical school, doctors complete a four-year residency program specifically focused on urology. Some urologists also pursue fellowship training to specialize further in areas like pediatric urology, oncologic urology, or female urology.

You may also find urologists specializing in female urology or male infertility.
What is the cost of seeing a urologist?
The cost of seeing a urologist can vary depending on factors like the type of visit (new patient vs. follow-up), the complexity of the condition, and the insurance plan. It’s always best to check with the urologist’s office and your insurance provider for specific cost estimates. Many offices offer financial assistance programs.
How can I find a reputable urologist in Austin?
To find a reputable urologist, you can start by asking for referrals from your primary care physician or friends and family. You can also search online directories and check patient reviews. It’s also a good idea to verify that the urologist is board-certified. Consider their experience and areas of expertise.
What questions should I ask a potential urologist?
When meeting with a potential urologist, ask about their experience in treating your specific condition, their approach to patient care, and their communication style. It's also important to ask about their office hours, insurance acceptance, and any associated fees. Ensuring you feel comfortable and confident is essential.
