We brought our 8-month-old in around 9pm on a Saturday due to a worsening cough, congestion, and wheezing. As first-time parents, we knew we probably didn’t need to bring him in, but were nervous about his labored breathing. From the moment we walked in, the staff was so attentive, friendly, and validating. We were seen immediately by two excellent nurses and Dr. Sides who came rushing in as soon as she heard our baby from down the hall. They took our little guy’s vitals, asked a lot of pointed questions, and listened to all the details we provided. The team was clearly very experienced with babies and made our guy as comfortable and smiley as possible given the circumstances and poking and prodding. They explained the cause of our baby’s symptoms in great detail and provided clear discharge instructions on what to expect and when to come back in if needed. They gave our little boy a steroid which greatly helped and he’s almost completely better now. This ER is just 5 minutes down the road from our house, and I feel so at ease knowing I can trust them to treat my baby with great care should we ever need to return.

The only reason St. David’s has positive reviews here is because they bought this place from Signature Care (as of today, all the photos still show Signature Care), which absolutely was a great place to go.

Those days are over. For privacy reasons I won’t describe the exceptionally horrendous experience I had with St. David’s. It was so egregious that I filed a formal complaint about the doctor and yet this organization hasn’t even bothered to reply, let alone investigate the matter. I provided them a final warning earlier today, and since I presumably won’t hear back from them, I have my complaint ready to submit to the Texas Medical Board.

I have no doubt most people working there are responsible professionals, but unfortunately I have little alternative but to post this review to call attention to how irresponsible this hospital is.

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Brought my girlfriend mother here due to some issues in regards to her lower abdomen and nausea (among other issues) to this E Center and the folks did a great job in regards to getting everything back on the scans. The only thing is they did stick her for IV and blood work and missed. I just hope she was alright when that occurred. Overall, friendly staff and a very quiet night that I’m glad can be resolved with some basic medicine that can help her on her way.

My husband recently had a health issue and we visited this Signature Care Emergency Center. We were impressed with the care and prompt attention from Dr. Elsbecker and the rest of the staff in the office (nurse, radiology technician, etc). Thank you for making this a much better experience under this difficult situation. Your professionalism and personal touch was really appreciated!

Took good care of my son and got him stitched up.

Warning to any patients paying bills through their online bill pay. The site does not reflect the amount you have already paid at the front desk and it will attempt to overcharge you when you go to make an online payment. If the payment had not errored out and forced me to call I would have paid way more than I was supposed to. I have notified Round Table Physicians Group and they are aware of it. Call to make your payments and wait for the bill to come in … but be careful as the bill always had the incorrect amount at the top in “Amount Due”.

I’m SO grateful my insurance covered this visit but even if it didn’t I just have to sing their praises anyway. Went in with an injury late at night and treatment took 2hrs roughly because they had to call specialists in but in the meantime everyone from start to finish treated me like a king and I can’t ever pay that feeling back. Bad history with ER and hospitals, so this meant a lot to me. Thank you staff so much for going above and beyond. I truly appreciate it.

I went to this location today and the provider I saw, Dr. Adams, was extremely patronizing and combative from the start of my visit. I felt very dismissed, even after her telling me she wasn’t trying to be dismissive, which leads me to believe she was aware of her tone with me. I came to the emergency center on the advice of an after hours nurse hotline. She asked very condescending questions like “what do you expect from us treatment wise” and “what kind of tests do you want me to run” which I replied “I’m not a doctor I don’t know!”. I was extremely disappointed and frankly annoyed by her tone with me. I could have accepted the fact that there wasn’t much they could do for me at this location, but I really could have done without her attitude. Patients deserve respect and professionalism and I did not experience that here. The receptionist and nurse were very kind, though.

Dr. Adam’s just displayed one of the worst examples of bedside manner this afternoon. No doctor should ever reply to a patient with ” what would you like me to do?” After said patient shows concern for serious problem. Front Desk staff and nurses were exceptional so it pains me to have to leave one star due to the doctor. If you don’t want to work with people and patients, then maybe consider a different career?

I had a kitchen mishap at night while cooking and needed stitches ASAP!

I remembered this place being near by and was seen & helped immediately by the very nice staff; From the front desk lady, to the tech, to the nurse, all were great.

The Doctor, Satyajit Deshmukh, took very good care of me. He made a traumatizing experience kind of pleasant and repaired my two mangled fingers!

Thank you all!!

Called there because Amazon dilered my package to the wrong building and signed by someone at a front desk. Trini answers the phone and was extremely rude. I was simply inquiring about a package and not a patient. Trini needs to find another job.

Came here with a glass injury that required stitches. The staff was very efficient in helping me. Dr. Galatzan did a great job. The cut sliced a part of my tattoo in half and he was able to sew it back together connecting the pieces. He was very gentle and careful in the process. I would recommend this facility.

I recently visited this hospital for a medical emergency and I am incredibly grateful that they happened to be the closest ER to me. I was taken in immediately and given care with a high level of urgency. They were very knowledgeable and kind. In such a vulnerable state, I was treated with respect and dignity. I do not have insurance at the moment and was absolutely terrified that I was going to be swimming in medical debt. I can tell they had my best interest at heart and didn’t do any unnecessary testing or charge me any extra unnecessary fees. I had a very negative view of hospitals, seeing them as places that put profits over people – they showed me that there are good hospitals out there. I highly recommend Austin Emergency Center. Thank you again.

I Came in and was immediately helped (I called before hand to check for a wait) This Emergency Room is 10/10 the doctor is a great guy and makes you feel heard and the staff and nurses are absolute gems. I would come here from here on out for any emergency. This is a ER I trust, nothing like those big hospitals who make you feel like another wrist band. This is still one of the good Healthcare Centers!!!!! Please by all means if you have an emergency come here and get taken care of.

Everything here was amazing, efficient, and pleasant. Cut my finger on glass, needed stitches. Joined waitlist online, virtually no wait upon arrival other than paperwork. Treatment, options, payment explained and given choices. Every. single. person. was engaging, kind, accommodating, and pleasant, like happy to see me! I received better treatment here than from my S &W Doc, even got a followup call the next day to check on me. Incredible experience for an emergency clinic.

I had a really good experience here. The doctor and nurse were so caring and spent quality time with me listening to what was going on and brain storming what could be the cause of my ailment. The doctor referred me to a list of specialists and I was able to get diagnosed not even a week later- which is apparently unheard of with this disease. I really owe it to Dr Colunga for referring me to the right doctors. Would definitely recommend this ER.

Don’t ever go to this place. I got a cut and got a few stitches. I went there after 10 days to cut the stitches as they mentioned and even though the wound didn’t heal completely they cut my stitches. Now i don’t know how long it will take for wound to heal. They don’t care about their patients. The doctor didn’t even come to cut the stitch and didn’t even look at the wound after the stitch was cut.

This place sucks big time. All they want is your money

They care that we received for my son’s injury was absolutely phenomenal.

Every staff member was so friendly and kind. I especially appreciate that my son’s nurse, Dianna. She the time to show him how the X-Ray equipment worked and what to expect in the doctors examination.

From the initial check-in at the front desk to the final discharge, each caregiver at Ally went above and beyond- both for my son, who had a scary injury, to me as a worried mother

I cannot say enough, good things about our experience and highly recommend Ally for emergency care!

I had the need to visit the Burnet location on a Sunday night after everywhere else except the ER was closed. They saw me quickly, answered all of my insurance and billing issues thoroughly, and the staff were all kind and professional.

I went in when I almost cut the tip off of my finger and they didn’t try to push pills or stitches on me. They gave me sound advice and recommended that I get seen again if it doesn’t heal on its own.

I would go there again.

I’d like to recognize the compassion and professionalism of Nichole, Dianna, Jaime, and Dr. Schmeil! They made me comfortable and I felt so confident in their care. This is my third time at Ally and they are such a blessing. It’s always super quiet I to be seen and I feel so well taken care of.
Also, as a teacher, I’m so thankful that due to my income, I am only responsible for 10% of my 500$ urgent care copay.
So much better than waiting in the traditional ER. Warm blankets, snacks, and they provide cell phone chargers!

I took my daughter here because she fell and hurt her arm, the female secretary was a nightmare. She was incompetent at doing her job and rude! She stated my insurance was invalid and treated us rudely! After a while she figured out she was wrong and continued to be rude ! A full nightmare, she shouldn’t work with people! Other than that the doctor and the rest of the staff were amazing ! Dr Shepard was super nice and the visit was rather quick! The male nurse was very nice and felt bad and brought us waters. I’ve never had someone treat me so poorly, I wish I gotten her name !

I went into the Er for an injury to my left leg. I advised what happened and they took and xray and an ultrasound. They didn’t write up or help with an mri. I went to Va and they said would have to go to Audi Murphy. I went to resolute and they sent a referral to River city imaging. I have multiple years in my left leg and CHRISTUS did nothing. They also denied the medication resolute prescribed. I would fire the whole staff and start over. Worst location and treatment I’ve ever had.

great place for care and treatment, friendly staff. Billing is reasonable for an ER. There is a plain as day sign on both the doors that expresses this is in fact an Emergency Room, in big, bold red letters none the less, not sure how other reviewers are lost on that fact. It also says it here on Google. There is also a whole page in the packet they give you to sign in, that also explains, its not an urgent care, not in-network, and in fact again, an emergency room. Reading is fundamental. Just wanted to help out future patients. Don’t let the 1 star reviews based off of billing stop you from getting the help you need and the treatment you deserve. I’m glad I didn’t.

The emergency team that worked with me and my daughter were AMAZING. If I wasn’t filled with anxiety I would say their names but I can’t remember but they worked 4/18 around 10pm. My daughter had an allergic reactions which has never happened and from the time I walked in to the time I walked out I felt heard, I was educated, I was reassured and I was given plenty of recommendations. Okay so the hype is REAL. The people who work here are angels. Felt horrible Sunday morning at 4am and went in to get checked and for some reassurance. Jess was at the front desk and was super nice and welcoming. Tyler took my temp and checked my vitals. Nurse Joe and Dr Dwyer took really good care of me. I had already been on antibiotics but needed reassurance that what I was going through still was normal because I was still in a lot of pain. Dr Dwyer offered me a shot that nurse Joe gave me and it helped with my pain a lot and I was able to go home and finally get some sleep. It was so early in the morning they all had really good high energy still and I appreciated that. Hopefully I don’t have to go to the ER anytime soon but I would go back to this place because the care they offered.

Okay first of all, I had a total freak accident, that’s besides the point, Ally Medical off Menchaca was the best ER/ emergency room experience I’ve ever had. It’s crazy to say that out loud or to even think of it in that perspective but it’s true. All the medical staff that was present, Rachel, Tyler,Vickie,Joe/Chris/Kimiagavee, and Pandi. The entire crew honestly at this point ensured that I was comfortable and taken care of. They were very thorough during intake, and immediately took to my attention. They were very kind, humble, smart, and the most supportive group of people I’ve met. I highly recommend coming here even if you feel it’s minor, you’re in good hands here. Thank you all so much for properly diagnosing me and ensuring I received the proper medications/ treatment.

I am so happy this place exists!

Wednesday I was In the most extreme pain I’ve ever been in and was terrified to go to the hospital and sit in a waiting room for hours to be seen. I showed up to Ally Medical and Sandy greeted me. She was so quickly compassionate to me, and so helpful while I was Literally blacking out from the pain I was In. She swiftly told me their payment options while alerting the staff for my assistance.

I was Then greeted by Whitney and Keegan. Amazing people. I was Seen by Dr. Arul and he was equally as amazing. Later in my stay Rachel came in to give me a shot (that I did not make easy for her to do) and she made me feel so seen and so at ease.

I literally could not thank the staff at Ally Medical enough for how amazing I felt Being in their care. One of the scariest moments of my life and they were all so communicative, empathetic, knowledgeable, and attentive.

Other names I’d like to mention are: Vickie and dermenter.

I have told all my local friends to keep ally in mind incase of emergency – it was the best choice I made!

This was the most caring entire staff I’ve ever seen!! They could see me trying to walk up to the door and barely making it, and just came out as quickly as possible with a wheelchair. I’m giving 5 stars because I was greeted with warmth and the nurses were incredibly sweet, but I want to share my experience with Dr. Johnson. He didn’t introduce himself, jumped straight into his routine checklist, and showed no empathy while I sat there clearly upset and crying. I immediately felt like I wasn’t in good hands and left feeling even more stressed than when I walked in. A lot of people coming in are in pain, overwhelmed, or anxious, and the last thing anyone needs is to feel like they’re a burden or that the person in front of them would rather be anywhere else. He came across with an attitude and didn’t carry a professional or compassionate demeanor at all. I’m still giving 5 stars because I truly believe this is a great place with a kind and supportive team, but I wouldn’t recommend him to anyone. In a patient-provider role, having credentials is one thing, but it’s also about knowing how to care for people.

I chose CareNow on South Congress based on convenience, ratings and because I don’t have health insurance, I’m so very happy I did.
I can’t thank Dr. Evans Martínez and Lanna the x-ray tech enough for the excellent care I was given.
I booked the appointment online and was able to get one immediately, also when I got to the facility I waited no more than 10 minutes before I was brought in, and was seen by the doctor.
Excellent service at quite an affordable price! Highly recommend then!!
Thank you again.

I had doctor Evans Martinez & vitals Nancy Lopez Rivera. Evans ensured I walked away with my main concerns answered & addressed. She gave me options(problem solving ideas for my symptoms/situation) and educated me in the process. She is very easy to talk to, cares, is smart, educates, and ensures you leave with understanding and solutions to your problem(s). My vitals were also great; Nancy was easy to talk to, cared about my situation, asked great questions, and let me know my vitals and what they meant for me.

Everyone was extremely nice and personable.. When they say Urgent Care they mean URGENT Care. Start to finish less than an hour. Way to go!!

everything was broken. didnt even have water. I asked for antibiotics but was denied and was prescribed a steroid that resulted in the inflammation to return after the prescription ran out (4 days). They couldn’t tell me how much the visit was going to be before seeing the nurse, and before telling me how broken everything was, and I was charged 400$ for a visit that solved nothing. Do not recommend.

I visited this urgent care on a Saturday and had a very disappointing experience. I arrived at 12:45 pm and was told the wait would be about an hour, but I wasn’t seen until 2:45 pm. When I was finally called in, the nurse informed me they had no imaging or lab capabilities to provide an exact diagnosis. The person who assessed me (chewing food during the visit) only listened to my heart and looked me over for less than a minute and said I was fine.

I requested an EKG, but the machine was broken. The nurse struggled with attaching the patches to my skin. I was then sent home with a $382 bill. When I asked about the high cost at checkout, the front desk staff member was dismissive, avoided eye contact, and cut me off with “have a good day” while I was speaking.

This is not the standard of care or professionalism one should expect in a medical facility.

Much better experience than other carenow urgent care locations. Booked ahead online. Checked in at the kiosk and I was in my appointment within 15 minutes of booking online. Got the results I needed in another ten minutes. Plenty of free parking

I was in a room being seen for my injury within about 10 minutes of walking in the door. Everyone was extremely polite, professional and attentive. I received excellent medical attention and was on my way home to rest quickly thereafter.

I got debris in my eye and my eye pain didn’t improve with home treatment of water irrigation to my eye, so my husband drove me to Urgent Care. I was checked in immediately upon arrival. My wait to see the doctor was about 20 minutes. The doctor was great. She instilled numbing medication eye drops which gave me pain relief. She had eye staining drops and a slit lamp to observe any corneal damage. She saw an abrasion. She thoroughly irrigated my eye and used a sterile moistened cotton q-tip to get micro debris cleared. I was given a prescription of an eye ointment antibiotic. – My experience at this Clinic was great!

As many have stated on here, this place is a joke of a facility. Run by clowns and magicians.

The first time our family made an appointment here, we showed up only to be told that there was no doctor available and that we would have to go somewhere else. Why would you accept appointments online and have people spend time and gas with their sick ones, just to not have a provider in house. Beyond frustrating

The second time ran similar to some of the other reviews here. Came in with spiked temp, body aches, cough, running nose …. The usual sign of an infection of some sort. The PA by the name of Austin asked a couple of questions and did a swab to have no definitive answers. No blood cultures were run to rule out anything and nothing was started to improve the condition. Not a bag of NS. Nothing. We were sent home with the answer: we will write a prescription for a cough, which we thought was at least something. Come to find out, the pharmacy would call us an hour later telling us it was contraindicated with a home medication that was on file. This just shows how half-assed and lazy this provider and location is. When contacted back to fix the medication, we were told that we would be contacted by the end of the day about course of action. No calls were made. No emails written. No messages left. That night, the fever had gone to 102. Finally after calling them back the next day, the doctor left a note to just use over the counter drugs. Next time, don’t make promises to call us back when you have no intention. Next time don’t waste our time. Next time don’t waste our money. Next time, try practicing the HCA mission statement. Standard of care at this particular location is ridiculously lacking.

Woman at the front desk helped me tremendously making sure my insurance plan covered my visit. The doctor/NP/PA I’m not sure of his title, but introduced as Austin, was so helpful! He actually took time to listen to my concerns and walk me through his logic for treatment (even cited recent studies). This was my third visit to an urgent care within a few days and the experience was night and day compared. Thank you again, Austin! 10/10 entire staff was amazing.

Amazing experience! The staff was professional, caring, and knowledgeable from check in to completion. Anna, Lulu, and Rhonda were the best and worked as a cohesive team. The waiting room was empty so I was able to get in and out quickly and they had time to give me their utmost attention. They do imaging and also take medicare. Give them 10 stars!

From the moment I checked in, I was greeted with care and compassion.
The receptionist was so kind and smiling and just phenomenal.
I tested positive for covid while in Alaska, then we came home and I had another positive test, ugh again, covid.
When I went in there, they retested me and thank God it was only a very mild case and had left.
There were many people and I waited a bit.
Very nice waiting room, with ample distancing room, coffee and amenities if you wanted them.
Then I was called back and the nurse there was the kindest person.
Very knowledgeable and very professional.
She treated me wonderfully took the time to listen gave me a thorough check up and I paid very minimal money.
The staff there are phenomenal and I am very picky with my healthcare.

Very simple process, went there for a drug screening for employment. Super nice staff. Loved both front staff and the amazing lady that helped me in the back. Very fast process as well. You sign in and they call you to the back. You get a text to your phone and just follow the prompts. Would go there again if ever needed. Was not busy either, I was in and out.

The level of professionalism from the front office staff is astounding. When waiting to check in one of them was talking to someone loudly in the back office about another patient.
I have tried to call regarding a prescription they sent in for me (haven’t received a call from them about positive or negative test results), but waited on hold for 20 minutes. Tried calling back 2 times and the front office staff answered my call and left the phone off the hook instead of on hold.
Really frustrating, especially having worked in the same position as them for 4 years. If you don’t like your job then find a different one, don’t disrespect others.
This being said the nurse and NP that helped me during my visit were wonderful and understanding.

My spouse was bleeding when we arrived, and I requested the front desk to take her in quickly since there was no one else waiting. They refused and insisted we complete formalities first. Despite the urgency, we were called in only after about 25 minutes.

I explained to the nurse that my spouse was feeling nervous, yet there was no sign of empathy or concern—her demeanor came across as condescending rather than caring. The doctor was okay, but the overall staff attitude was disappointing.

We paid $180 through my HSA debit card at the time of visit. No one informed us that the card would be stored on file. Weeks later, they charged the same card again for the remaining amount *without* any prior notice or authorization. Typically, hospitals send a statement after billing insurance, but here they simply took the money automatically, which is completely unacceptable.

Save yourself the frustration and go to another urgent care where patient well-being and transparency are actually prioritized.

This CareNow Urgent Care was my worker’s comp facilitating physician. Dr cooke and Nurse Ben are just the best. Everyone was so pleasant, helpful, answered all my questions and I felt they genuinely cared about my treatment from the 1st appointment to the very last. They are definitely not a one foot in the hall type of medical team!

Katrina Taylor

Quickest urgent care service I have ever experienced. They were efficient and educated, took care of me, and sent me on my way. Very appreciative, thank you so much!!

Update: the prescriptions given lasted 5 days and didn’t fully take care of my situation. I figured calling in and explaining the situation would lend them to refill the prescription- and apparently that’s not what they do (because it’s an urgent care, I guess?), so just a heads up to anyone going in- if you fear the prescription might not be a long enough prescription, let them know before they make you pay another copay just to refill your prescription.

My wife had an appointment and she pre-registered. When got to the urgent care we were told that there was no physician. We were directed to the Cedar Park location. We got there and they had no physician. We ended up at the Avery Ranch location. 30 minutes of driving for URGENT care; Crazy way to run a business.

Online checkin was fine. Front desk and nurse were nice and prompt. But Then I waited 40 minutes for doctor to come in – who did nothing and said I just needed to let things run the course. Ended up in emergency room 8 hours later. Pathetic excuse for “care”

Friendly and quick, quality care!
I originally had an appointment at another clinic in the area but was late so they couldn’t see me. I walked in to this urgent care facility and Austin was so helpful making sure I got the expected care and verified my insurance copay as well. Everyone else was so kind and quick to help me. I’m so grateful I was able to update my epi pen prescription before an trip out of the country so I can have peace of mind.

Frequently Asked Questions about Urgent Care Centers in Austin

What exactly is an urgent care center?

An urgent care center provides walk-in medical care for illnesses and injuries that are not severe enough to warrant a trip to the emergency room, but need to be addressed quickly. They offer a convenient alternative to waiting for an appointment with your primary care physician, especially when dealing with immediate concerns.

When should I choose an urgent care center over my primary care physician?

You should consider an urgent care center when you need prompt medical attention outside of your primary care doctor's regular hours or when they're unavailable. This might include minor illnesses like the flu, minor injuries like sprains or cuts, or conditions requiring same-day treatment.

What types of conditions do urgent care centers typically treat?

Urgent care centers commonly treat conditions such as colds and flu, sore throats, minor burns, sprains and strains, cuts requiring stitches, allergic reactions, and ear infections. Many also offer basic lab testing and X-ray services.

Do I need an appointment to visit an urgent care center?

Generally, urgent care centers offer walk-in services. While some may accept appointments, the primary advantage is the ability to receive care without scheduling in advance. However, it's always a good idea to check the center’s website or call ahead to confirm.

What is the typical wait time at an urgent care center?

Wait times at urgent care centers can vary depending on the time of day and the center’s volume of patients. It’s best to anticipate a wait, particularly during peak hours like evenings and weekends. Many centers provide online check-in options to help estimate wait times.

What insurance plans are typically accepted by urgent care centers in Austin?

Most urgent care centers in Austin accept a wide range of insurance plans, including major providers like Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, and UnitedHealthcare. However, it is crucial to verify acceptance with the specific center before your visit to avoid unexpected costs. Some might also accept out-of-network patients.

What should I expect to pay for a visit to an urgent care center?

The cost of a visit to an urgent care center varies depending on the services provided and your insurance coverage. Typically, copays are lower than those for emergency room visits. Without insurance, charges can range from moderate to high. It’s a good idea to inquire about estimated costs beforehand.

Are there pediatricians or specialists available at urgent care centers?

While most urgent care centers are staffed by general practitioners, some may have pediatricians on staff to care for children. It's rare to find specialized care like cardiology or dermatology. If you need specialist care, it is best to schedule an appointment with a specialist directly.

How do urgent care centers maintain patient privacy?

Urgent care centers are required to adhere to strict patient privacy regulations, such as HIPAA. They protect your medical records and ensure that your personal information is handled securely and confidentially. You should inquire about their privacy practices if you have concerns.

What is the difference between an urgent care center and an emergency room?

The key difference lies in the severity of medical needs. Emergency rooms are for life-threatening emergencies, such as heart attacks, strokes, severe trauma, or difficulty breathing. Urgent care centers address illnesses and injuries that need prompt attention but are not emergency situations. Choosing the correct facility is crucial for receiving the appropriate level of care.
