I’m simply making this review to speak on a very brief, but terrible encounter at this location yesterday, June 8, 2025. Long story short, I came by to inquire about copying services. Unfortunately, I needed a document printed on short notice. I didn’t get to make it to Office Depot because of Sunday closing hours. Anywho, I asked the lady (I will come back after I retrieve her name) about copying services. She then pointed to a “Notary Public Services” sign & I shook my head to show that’s not what I’m looking for. So I repeated myself as I noticed there was a language barrier. In the middle of me speaking she said “I don’t speak any English” with the most nonchalant, uninterested face possible. Her body language screamed she was annoyed. I was honestly confused I wasn’t rude whatsoever. I even opened up my GoogleTranslate for a better understanding. She kept shaking her head like “No. I can’t help you.” That’s when I got frustrated and left. I’ve always heard about this location and their responses to certain people. It’s very unfortunate. I will never step foot in there again, however, I will get the name of the associate I’m referring to. There are other options out there that will welcome you. Make sure you shop where you’re welcome. 0/10. I do NOT recommend.

My husband has came in this location before he went to work, and was asked to wait 30 mins, 1st time to cash a check over 1000.00 and then this morning for a money order, even if it’s shift change there should be 1 person at window helping customers at all times if you advertise that your open 24hrs, there was 2 ppl in the store behind counter a male and a female the male on both occasions is the one that said it would take 30 mins. Please talk to your employees cause most working ppl only have certain hours of the day to take care of their personal buisness.

Super quick and easy! They have most currencies in stock so you can pick up currency same day in person which is really convenient. I paid only a few dollars in fees. Whoot whoot! These guys are awesome. I took some old gold/silver pieces in not thinking I would get much, but boy was I wrong. Got a grrrreat deal! They (owner and employee) are both so friendly and knowledgeable. I even learned some new things about gold! 😉 And they don’t just buy gold/silver, they sell some of the more unique pieces that come through the door. I bought a wicked cool turquoise and sterling silver necklace at an unbelievable price. It’s always a great experience when I stop by. Highly recommend. Walked in with a 30 gram class ring, and asked what they’re offering for melt value on gold currently. clerk said 75-80%, which is on par so showed him the ring. He measured it and I was told it was 28.9 grams… ok fine. 28.9 grams of 10K gold (41.7% pure gold) equaling 12g of pure gold. Price of gold today is a little over $3,300/oz. There’s 31.1 grams per troy ounce of gold putting the melt value of this ring at $106/gram. $106 x 12= $1,270. He offered me $820 (64.55% melt value). I asked him where he got that math, he said the computer does it for him. I said that’s not 80% of melt value, he said it was 70%. I asked why he told me 80% earlier, he said because it’s a class ring he would have to melt it and that I wouldn’t be able to get 80% melt value elsewhere because it’s a class ring… None of it added up, walked out.

This is absolutely the best place in the atx and san Antonio area if you are selling or buying gold! I literally called all over both cities and everywhere in between! Doug and Nolan are not only fair (actually very inexpensive) they are patient and kind! I had so many questions about everything and they never got irritated they are extremely knowledgeable and just honest and genuine! Truly salt of the earth human beings and not jaded by the city or the business! I cannot thank them enough and I highly recommend taking your business to these guys! I’m pretty sure they’re the best in the state but I can only verify where I have checked personally and that’s all of san Antonio and all of Austin as well as everywhere in between these guys are the standout best!

This shopping center runs an alarm all night long in a residential area , disturbing all surrounding homes and will not disable it despite it being an illegal noise violation. Boycott this shopping center until they take it down.

Homelessness is out of control here. The Exchange has an alarm system that’s triggered by publicly accessible areas. Just driving through the parking lot sets it off. It’s loud and useless. It goes off all night long and disturbs neighboring apartments. Spend your money somewhere else.

Convenient location to my house but I don’t like having to deal with all the traffic and transient people who frequent that area of North Lamar. However, Maudie’s is one of my favorite Tex Mex restaurants in Austin and well worth the effort to visit The Exchange.

Have a lot of shops to visit. Nice. But to many homeless people asking for money.

The owners here is honest, and absolutely ethical. I had some items to sell and they gave me clear information on what I had and its value – much more than even a regular jewelry store. They are VERY knowledgeable – I had a couple of items they said to get appraised and not sell. They’ve been in business a long time, and are really fair to their customers. In today’s economy, if you have a little jewelry to sell, you can’t go wrong here.

Several months ago I was asked to consider joining Capitol CU located on Ben White. The staff didn’t only encourage a basic checking or savings account, but helped me establish other beneficial credit union services. For me it was the investing side of the credit union. At my original CU, there were funds there that were just dormant. The investment team at Capitol helped me move those funds so that they could begin to earn dividends. I would have never thought to connect with the investment team had the Ben White team not encouraged me to consider it.

Went in for a visit this afternoon and the staff was incredible. They were knowledgeable answering any questions that I had about credit and helped me establish a bank account. I recommend anyone looking to establish a relationship with a credit union stop in and speak with the staff.
