The JW Marriott Austin offers a generally pleasant stay. The hotel boasts a prime location, making it easy to explore the city. The rooms are well-maintained and provide a comfortable space, perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. Convenience is a key benefit, with ample amenities on-site.
While the hotel’s facilities are impressive, there can be unexpected issues. The ongoing construction and potential for closure of dining options are potential drawbacks. Overall, it’s a solid choice offering a reliable and well-equipped experience, despite the occasional snag. The service staff seems dedicated to providing a quality visit.

Great hotel. Central location. Close to everything. Fabulous contemporary rooms. Stunning night time views. Beautiful clean bathrooms. Rooftop pool is a plus. Gym is well equipped and all equipment worked. Breeze to check in. Prompt service when we called down for extra luggage rack, pillows, bedding. Lovely turn down service and always willing to accommodate with extra towels and chocolate. Cleaning every day was superb. Never disturbed us, somehow knew we were late sleepers. Elevators were fast. Ice machine on 5th floor or could call down for ice delivery. Concierge level breakfast, hors d’ouevres, drinks, snacks were plentiful and delicious. Conference rooms were large and staff were extremely professional in setup. Even the bellhops were extremely helpful (thanks Holli & Rigo for helping us load our luggage). All employees were excellent and professional in every way. Made our stay wonderful & so relaxing . Only thing was they were undergoing construction in the lobby, Dean’s restaurant which we wanted to eat at suffered some sort of fire damage the night we checked in and was closed our entire stay. And of course, the annoying $25/night resort fee that could only be used at Dean’s & the Corner onsite restaurants. We couldn’t use them at the gift/provisions mini-shop nor the Burger Bar. We ended up just forgoing the fee. It’s becoming more common to tack on this fee to sustain the hotel restaurants. But the hotel itself and all the facilities and staff were stellar.

Of my Marriott experiences to date, this was the best.
Rooms were nicely done, modern and clean, and no real damage to note.
The hotel itself is very nice and well marked in terms of getting around.
The pool area is great, especially for a few hours break.
The only criticism I would have about the hotel is that for our conference it was incredibly difficult to find bottled water – instead we were always offered soft drinks or coffee, which after a couple of days inside, isn’t what you want.

We stayed with our family and had a very good experience overall. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, and the location was excellent. The kids really enjoyed the pool, although in the summer it was not heated. We are not sure how it is in the winter, but it was still a nice place for them to play.
We also want to thank Pablo, who kindly walked us to our room after check-in. His friendly attitude gave us a warm welcome and set a positive tone for our stay.
One thing to note is that there is a $25 resort fee added to the bill, but you receive a $25 credit in return. The credit cannot be used at Market or the Burger Bar, so we ended up using it at Starbucks, which worked out fine.
Overall, it was a smooth and enjoyable stay, and we would be happy to come back again.

Loved our river view room. Very comfortable beds, and the bathroom was beautiful. Thelma, our room attendant, was so sweet and anything we asked of her with a smile and had an awesome smile on her face. She made our stay for a week so /awesome. She worked our area 6 days out of 7. She really cares about her profession and her guests. She is certainly an amazing employee and follows the mission statement of yours responsible and respectful. She’s definitely an addition to your hotel.

From the moment my friend and I walked in, we were met with such warmth and hospitality. Tyler greeted us right away and was incredibly helpful and generous throughout our stay. I also had an unfortunate incident where I lost one of my valuables, and both Toni and Alan went above and beyond to help me. Everyone we encountered, including the bell staff, was so friendly. We were always greeted with a smile every time we entered or left the property, which made the experience feel even more personal and welcoming. The location couldn’t be better. We were able to walk to most places around the city, and the hotel itself had great amenities and spacious, comfortable rooms. Everything about our stay was seamless. I’ll absolutely be staying here again the next time I’m in Austin. Highly recommend!

From the moment I arrived, Roberto, my baggage carrier, truly stood out. He greeted me with a warm, professional smile and treated my luggage as if it were his own. Efficient, courteous, and attentive, he made sure every bag was safely delivered to my room—no fuss, no delay.
What impressed me most was his positive attitude and genuine care. Roberto’s friendly demeanor and thoughtful service added a special touch to my stay at the JW Marriott. Thank you, Roberto, for going above and beyond. You’re a valued part of the JW Marriott experience!

We absolutely loved our time at the Fairmont Austin. From the moment we walked in, we were struck by how beautiful the hotel is—modern, stylish, and welcoming all at once. It has such a fresh and contemporary feel without ever being cold or impersonal.||Our room was spotless and so comfortable. The bed was dreamy, the space was thoughtfully designed, and it really felt like a little retreat after exploring the city. Everything about it made us feel relaxed and at ease.||What stood out the most, though, was the people. Every single person we encountered—whether at the front desk, in the restaurants, or even just passing in the hallway—was warm, friendly, and genuinely helpful. A special shout-out goes to Berk at the bell desk for anticipating our every need and providing excellent customer service and to the concierge, Jaidan, who shared perfect recommendations for dining and entertainment during our stay. Perhaps most impressive was the unexpected gift and personal note we found in our room on our last day that completely made our evening. That thoughtful gesture captured the kind of care and hospitality that makes this hotel so memorable.||We left with big smiles, new friends, and wonderful memories – we’re already looking forward to coming back. The Fairmont Austin is an easy recommendation for anyone wanting comfort, style, and truly exceptional service in Austin.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Fairmont Austin. It is a very beautiful hotel with great amenities. It is close by to Lady Bird Lake and Barton Springs Pool and some great BBQ spots! The roof top pool is one of it’s best amenities. A great pool to relax with fabulous service. We had the pleasure of having Elif R. as our pool server during our stay! She was very friendly and attentive and remembered what drinks we ordered the day prior. She is a true ambassador for the hotel!

The hotel is very nice. The disappointment was with concierge. Whatever questions we asked of the concierge they had no idea and needed to check with others. Where’s the best place to go for drinks, what tours do you recommend. Please tell us more how about your happy hour here at the hotel. The concierge knew nothing about happy hours or had no suggestions for us. When they did check on the happy hour they we’re able to tell us it was from 5:00 to 6:00 in the Rules and Regs Bar but had no idea it was only on Thursdays and Fridays. When we were asking about Tuesdays I knew we had to leave Thursday morning. Simple questions for concierge but it was like this person just moved to Austin and new less about the city then we did.

We love this hotel when we visit Austin, and this time was exceptional. It was our anniversary and when we arrived to our room, a beautiful chef prepared cake was waiting for us thanks to Cindy at the front desk! The entire weekend was fun as we enjoyed the rooftop bar, and cocktails and fries at the main level bar until 1 am! Our room is always clean and beautiful. The staff is amazing and we can’t wait to go again soon.

Legendary upscale hotel and perfect if you are holding a conference or want a special getaway. Lobby, restaurants, service, drinks, pool are all first class. You get a lot of value for what it costs. Highly recommended. It’s currently in a very high construction area. It’s surrounded by cranes, temporary fences etc. so that part is not consistent with luxury. But if you’re from a city with constant construction like Dallas Houston or Austin, you understand progress. It has no effect on your stay inside the hotel. Just a bit chaotic outside.

I spent one night here while in Austin and booked this hotel based on recommendations on Booking.com. I can honestly say it exceeded expectations. The hotel is beautiful in terms of decor and it was very clean. Rooms are reasonably updated with modern touches and very good sized. It is also near the river belt that is being renovated and a great location overall. But more than anything the staff stood out the most to me. From the front door, to check in, to the restaurants and bars everyone is 100% consistently professional, friendly and warm. I will definitely stay here again and would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Centrally located, nice conference space, decent food & beverage selection and the pool is great! Not sure if this was a one-off experience or a general problem but elevators were hard to come by. You needed to plan an extra 10 minutes into your “commute” to get one and often when it did arrive it was full. Trying to get from the 21st floor to the lobby would often take quite some time with several completely full elevators stopping. We finally started riding the elevator up to be guaranteed a spot going down. Other than that, it’s a really nice property.

The Hyatt Regency Austin offers a convenient location near many attractions and boasts a recently renovated, modern feel. The atrium design creates a memorable space and the pool area looks incredibly inviting, perfect for enjoying a relaxing stay. Excellent service appears to be a consistent highlight, with staff going above and beyond to assist guests, as seen by several experiences.
While construction may sometimes impact certain aspects, the hotel’s commitment to informing guests and providing helpful assistance is noteworthy. The overall experience promises a comfortable and well-situated stay, ideal for both leisure and business travelers. Expect a refined atmosphere and a focus on guest satisfaction.

This hotel was recently renovated and is very modern and beautiful inside! What I particularly love is that the rooms are well lit! Very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. It’s also a great location within walking distance to Congress Street and all of the restaurants and shopping available there will definitely be returning. The daily parking rate is a bit expensive at $62 a night. That is the one thing I wish they would change and it would be perfect.

Fantastic location, darling views, great pool, & a truly tasty authentic Tex-Mex breakfast. I visited for the weekend and loved waking up to the river view each morning. I really enjoyed the open concept atrium design. The pool was just the right temperature for a hot summer day. The staff was excellent & friendly. Absolutely loved my stay. Highly recommended.

Brooke at reception was courteous and kind when helping me deal with a last minute booking issue. She put me at ease and helped turn a bad day of travel into a great hotel experience.

I was only staying for one day as the Airbnb I was staying at wasn’t available the Saturday I arrived in Austin. The place was under construction so check-in was a little confusion as signs from the parking lot and on the elevators said registration was on floor 2 but it had moved back to floor 1. The store in the lobby was closed during my stay also so I wasn’t able to try the coffee etc they offer. Room was very clean and spacious though. Ac worked well, bed comfortable and it seemed the front desk was trying to put people in higher floors to help with construction noise which was very thoughtful. The morning breakfast buffet was fantastic though. Large selection of different foods from waffles, cereal, oatmeal, pastries, made on the spot omelets, iced coffee (big for me as I don’t like hot coffee). If I was staying longer and not during construction, I would fully expect this to be the 5 out 5 experience I’m used to with Hyatt. though.

I recently stayed at the Hyatt Regency Austin while attending my Atlas Leadership Training, and I could not have asked for a better experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make sure our group felt welcome and taken care of.
Every team member we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and genuinely invested in making our stay comfortable. The accommodations were clean, spacious, and ideal for both rest and productivity between sessions. Our training seminars ran seamlessly thanks to the attentive event staff, who made sure every detail — from room setup to refreshments — was handled promptly and professionally.
The combination of excellent service, a beautiful property, and a perfect location made this a truly memorable experience. I’m grateful to the entire Hyatt Regency Austin team for making our leadership training feel both productive and special. Highly recommended!

We choose this hotel because it was the only one I found that was on the river and had a balcony. We stayed here during a major construction project which meant the balcony room we reserved was not available but they put us in a mini-suite with a fabulous view of Lady Bird Lake. The maid service was excellent. Unfortunately the restaurants were all closed but they put a temporary restaurant on the top floor which had a fabulous view and we had four dinners there and three breakfasts. The breakfast was a buffet and the dinner menu was limited but certainly plenty to satisfy most tastes and the food was excellent as was the service.

Hyatt Regency Austin – Great Stay Despite Renovations
We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Austin in mid-July and had a really good experience. Yes, there were plenty of renovations happening, but honestly, they didn’t bother us at all. If anything, it’s exciting to see the upgrades in progress—this place is going to look fantastic when it’s all finished.
The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, which made a big difference. The hotel is perfectly located, right on the lake and just a short walk to see the bats fly out from under the Congress Street Bridge—such a cool Austin experience.
The pool was a highlight, with a beautiful view of the downtown skyline, especially at night. Overall, even with the construction, this was a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Would definitely come back once the renovations are complete!

There is room for improvement in their housekeeping practices. I was not impressed with the cleanliness of the bathroom. The robes that were provided smelled as if they were previously worn. When I set them out to be replaced, housekeeping took the robes, but never replaced them. The bathroom counters had a stale smell and felt generally unsanitary. Our mattress cover was full of holes on the left side of the bed. I’m going to assume this was an isolated incident, however still unacceptable for such a highly rated hotel. I hope they do better on our next visit.

Want to write a brief review of my stay at the Hilton Hotel in Austin Texas. My wife and I stayed at the hotel on Friday July 18th and Saturday July 19th and we left on Sunday July 20th. Everything went well during our stay. Our room wad very nice, clean and the bed was also comfortable. The only recommendation that I would make is that the water pressure was a little soft or light. When leaving on Sunday I want to give a thank you to a guy named Luis assisted usvwith checking out. Luis delivered exceptional service when he assisted us. On Saturday morning I ate at the Austin Taco Project on Saturday and my bill amount was not accurate as it appeared as if extra gratuity was added so my final bill was over the amount that I had agreed to pay. Luis told me that he would take care of it and that I shouldn’t worry about anything. He didn’t question me and made me feel like he really cared about me and my concern. It’s employees like this that make customers want to stay at your hotel in the future. While staying at the hotel all of the hotel employees that I came across were very friendly. I will be staying at this hotel again in the future.. ||Thank you,|One happy customer!!

This is a good hotel. The rooms are great. I was allowed to check in 5 hours early. Which made up for them not letting me check out late on a longhorn football weekend. Room service was great. They brought a microwave and fridge to my room for me to help me accommodate my diet. Internet was free. Room had a nice view, and bottled water was good. Overall, pleasant stay

Four Seasons Austin is simply spectacular. From the moment you arrive, you can feel that signature hospitality: warm, attentive staff always ready to help. The rooms are spacious, modern, and offer beautiful views of Lady Bird Lake.
The restaurant and bar are a big plus: delicious food, well-crafted cocktails, and a relaxed yet sophisticated vibe. The common areas, like the pool and spa, are spotless and designed for pure enjoyment.
Best of all is the location: right in downtown Austin, with easy access to restaurants, live music, and the famous lakeside trail.
This is a hotel where excellence is non-negotiable, and the experience goes far beyond just a stay. Perfect for both business trips and relaxing getaways.

We came into town to visit friends who recently moved to Austin, we looked and liked the location of the Four Seasons, so made that our base. It was a great choice. The hotel is within easy walking distance to hip restaurants, breakfast places, and sixth street with all the live music. But if you decide you want to have a different kind of day, the hotel also sits on a lake where there are paddle boarders and kayaks galore, areas to lounge in hammocks or big chairs, a saltwater pool, and a big “backyard” space with rocking chairs. We took advantage of all it, and it was great. We went to sixth street to see music, but there was also live music in the lobby bar so there was something for every mood you may be in. The service was all terrific as one would expect, the rooms were comfortable (we had a king overlooking the lake connected to our kids room also overlooking the lake). Housekeeping was impeccable and we had zero complaints about the rooms or the hotel itself. It’s really a great option for a discerning traveller who finds themselves in Austin. We now find ourselves coming up with a new reason to come back. Great hotel. Highly recommend.

Love this hotel! Have stayed numerous times for work trips and for leisure. Service is impeccable and the location is perfect. Rooms have been recently renovated and are very nice. The only thing that is somewhat subpar is the pool – it’s still great but not as nice as it could be especially when compared to so many other new hotels in downtown Austin. But the location and service help compensate for that!

Amazing service. Everyone is super-nice. They basically say yes to any request you make. Can I check in at 9AM – Sure! Check out at 3PM Sure! This hotel is located right next to the bridge with bats, so you get to experience their swarming behavior without much effort. Great pool and reasonable food. Do double check you bill as someone put their tab on my room.

I recently stayed at the Four Seasons in Austin and it was one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had. From the moment I arrived, the staff set the tone with genuine hospitality and attention to detail. Check in was seamless and the lobby had a calm and elegant atmosphere that immediately made me feel like I was in good hands.
The location of the hotel is perfect. It sits right on Lady Bird Lake which gives you beautiful views and easy access to the walking and jogging trails. At the same time, it is just a short walk from downtown Austin with all of its restaurants, music venues, and nightlife. It truly feels like the best of both worlds, a peaceful lakeside setting while being right in the middle of everything.
The room was spacious, spotless, and beautifully appointed. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in and the linens felt luxurious. The view from my room looked out over the lake and the city skyline, which made both mornings and evenings special. Everything from the furniture to the lighting to the layout of the bathroom was thoughtfully designed. Small touches like a well stocked minibar, high quality toiletries, and plenty of outlets for charging devices added convenience and comfort.
The property itself is stunning. The outdoor spaces are beautifully landscaped and the pool area feels like a retreat with comfortable loungers and excellent service. Sitting outside with a drink while overlooking the water was one of the highlights of my stay. The fitness center is large and very well equipped, making it easy to keep up with workouts even while traveling.
Dining at the Four Seasons Austin is exceptional. The on site restaurant serves creative and flavorful dishes that highlight local ingredients. Breakfast was a standout with fresh options that ranged from light and healthy to rich and indulgent. The bar and lounge area have a lively yet sophisticated feel, perfect for enjoying a cocktail in the evening. Service in every dining setting was attentive and professional without ever feeling rushed.
What impressed me most was the level of service throughout the hotel. Every staff member I encountered was friendly, knowledgeable, and seemed genuinely invested in making sure guests were having the best possible experience. Whether it was housekeeping, concierge, or restaurant staff, everyone went above and beyond. I had a few small requests during my stay and each one was met with prompt and gracious service.
The overall experience at the Four Seasons Austin is about more than just a place to stay. It feels like a sanctuary in the middle of the city, blending luxury with warmth and comfort. The combination of its unbeatable location, beautiful property, excellent dining, and extraordinary service make it a hotel that stands out even in a city as vibrant as Austin.
I would absolutely recommend the Four Seasons Austin to anyone visiting the city, whether for business, leisure, or a special occasion. It is the kind of place that makes your trip memorable and leaves you already planning your return before you even check out.

This hotel was great. This was my 1st time to Austin, and I booked it based on location to where I had to be (wedding reception), just 15 minutes away. Checking in took longer than expected due to an unexpected tech issue with one of the front desk positions, but the employees were very apologetic & helpful with answers to various questions during my stay. The room was clean & comfortable. The bathroom was stocked with all necessary items. I made it down to the pool for a “quick dip” towels provided poolside. The hotel has a great Japanese restaurant attached and the food was very good along with the “included” breakfast the next morning. The reason for just 4 stars on location was due to all the road construction going on in the immediate area. I would definitely stay here again, it’s close to downtown Austin!

Stayed for 3 nights. Friendly front desk staff, beautiful and relaxing pool/spa area and quirky boutique feel make this a unique motel experience.||Unfortunately, the enjoyment was lessened by a room that was very humid and moldy-smelling. All of our clothes, towels and swimsuits remained moist the entire stay. Also, there is NO sprinkler system in the rooms in case of fire. That is a huge hazard, regardless of this being a non-smoking motel. ||Our stay was nice and quiet. We did enjoy ourselves but hope that the Aiden will look at these issues and correct.

To start off, the moment we checked in, the front desk agent reeked of smoke and a failed attempt of covering it up with cologne. He also had the audacity to ask why we were there, within earshot of other guests checking in. Imagine had we been here for circumstances we wished to keep private. We explained it was just a quick weekend getaway to see animals and museums…and instead of keeping his judgements to himself, he thought he should share his disappointment that we had visited an aquarium before checking in. Imagine how my 7 year old felt when I explained what was being implied. Unnecessary and unwarranted. ||We were put on the first floor next to an exit door, ice maker and the housekeeping quarters. With the poor quality of this place, we heard it ALL. The upstairs guests trampled around at all hours of the night, guesses let the exit door slam each and every time and the housekeeping staff, including the manager or maintenance guy, were up at 7, slamming trashcans and cleaning supplies around with zero care that there could be sleeping guests literally next door. ||Not to mention, our door had about a 1/4 gap all the way around it that light shown through and the sorriest excuse for a lock. I had to secure it with towels while we slept to help lessen the slamming of the exit door and help dampen the noise level. ||Now I remember why I don’t stay at Best Westerns and will refuse to going forward. I’m utterly confused how this place has the positive reviews does. The name “Aiden” and tacky rebrand to evoke an edgy Austin-vibe doesn’t disguise that this place is a 1-star quality motel at best.

The suite was not well maintained. It made me feel like it was not clean. If the hotel doesn’t maintain the room why would they care if they are cleaned properly? The king bed was on the poor side and the breakfast delivered was inedible. My husband got the diner breakfast and took tone bite of the eggs and one of the bacon and covered the meal back up and left the table. I recommend getting breakfast somewhere else. The lobby was nice and the employees were friendly. We had 2 nights booked, but left after the first night. I didn’t want to stay. They were nice enough to refund the night to me. But as I paid $500 a night for a suite, it was low quality. I will not be back.

They were attentive to our needs when asked for anything. The pool was nice and cold on a hot day! The bar staff made good drinks. The taco place was BOMB! If I had anything cons to say it would be the cleaners don’t turn down the rooms until late afternoon. They didn’t replace glasses in the room and the bed wasn’t comfortable. They gave us extra pillows to make us more comfortable but it didn’t work. The shower water gets all over the floor with the half wall.

Attended a family repast at The Line Hotel and had a wonderful experience. We rented a private ballroom/meeting space and the staff went above and beyond — attentive, kind, and professional. The lobby is absolutely fabulous, with a laid-back yet upscale vibe that really sets the tone. Everything flowed smoothly and the atmosphere made a difficult day feel more comforting. Highly recommend The Line Hotel for both events and a stylish stay.

one of the best hotel experiences I can recall! Great location, fabulous pool. Comfortable and stylish rooms and lobby. A casual and delicious taco joint as well as a high end restaurant in the lobby each with a bar! Very well appointed mini-bar and in-room snack station. I hope I can return soon.

Warning!!!!
They have a parking garage but don’t let hotel guests park in it for free. Your parking will cost you as much as your room! They are gonna charge you a random large amount on your card of $500 after your stay as well!
The lobby and pool are beautiful and nice and location is great …. But
The room is garbage and room service just as bad. They didn’t replace everything everyday including water and coffee was never replaced. The hotel staff are rude and unhelpful. Even the $7 coffee I bought in the lobby was full of grounds. I needed to add details to my reservation and it took them an hour on the phone before finally transferring me to the manager to finally add a name to the room! They are money hungry and it shows but their service isn’t good. This is a high priced hotel for Austin. You can find nicer for this price.
I had a great time in Austin and glad I was this area but not thanks to the hotel.

I recently stayed at The LINE Hotel Austin. The design and location are definitely highlights—the space is visually striking and well situated.
Check-in was smooth, but no assistance was offered with luggage, which would have been appreciated. Our room showed signs of wear, including stained carpet, dusty surfaces, and dated furniture. The bathroom could benefit from updated lighting and refreshed grout to match the hotel’s modern aesthetic.
The pool area had great energy, but it needed more frequent upkeep. We noticed cracked tiles, bird droppings on loungers, and used cups in the water. Pool seating could also be more accommodating for taller guests.
Food and drinks were enjoyable, and Matt at the pool bar provided excellent service—he was a standout. However, there were a few service gaps, such as no side plates for shared dishes and grooming concerns at P6 that took away from the overall dining experience.
Unfortunately, a hair in my room service meal and a delay in resolving it, along with a non-functional in-room phone and poor cell reception, made that part of the stay frustrating.
This property has strong potential, with its bold design and great location, but some areas of service and maintenance could benefit from more attention to detail. I’d be open to returning in the future if improvements are made.

Quiet, upscale boutique hotel without the stuffy pretentiousness in the category. Amazing pool, unbeatable location in the middle of ALL the action, but a peaceful, comfortable retreat from the sounds and commotion of downtown. Room was so comfortable, yet warmly minimalist. This place hit a home run on every level. Can’t wait to return for my next stay.

Orangewood Inn & Suites offers a solid, budget-friendly option for travelers. The staff is consistently mentioned as being friendly and helpful, which significantly enhances the overall experience. A complimentary breakfast is a nice touch, and the rooms are generally reported to be clean and well-maintained, providing a comfortable stay.
While some minor drawbacks exist, such as nearby road construction, the convenient location and value for money make it a worthwhile choice. The hotel provides the necessities for a pleasant stay without unnecessary frills, catering well to those seeking a practical and affordable lodging solution.

Great price, definitely one of the cheaper hotels in the area that’s only about 10 minutes from downtown. Perfect central location. They had a really great breakfast every morning and the front desk was super nice and helpful. The only complaint we had was the room was super humid to the point everything felt wet. After getting the AC running everything kinda dried up and we enjoyed out stay. The room had a microwave and a mini fridge which was nice. The rooms were also very clean and the maids did a good job freshening up the room every day.

The lobby associates are very helpful and friendly. I requested a late check out and Ash fulfilled my request. The room has comfortable beds and pillows with plenty of towels, but no view. The location is comparable with the price. The main drawback is the Hwy35 Service road construction at the entrance of the hotel, it caused additional driving and unpleasant pool environment. Breakfast was okay, but the complementary single serve coffee at the room was better. Overall our stay was good and will recommend.

The reviews for this hotel were mixed, but I tried to believe the negative ones were just rare cases. Boy, was I wrong.||My first room had a smelly carpet and the AC couldn’t be adjusted, so I asked to switch rooms. The second room seemed fine at first, until I noticed a bed bug crawling on my pillow.||Also, there were people sitting on the floor near the entrance/exit, which didn’t make me feel safe.||The only positive was that my refund request was approved quickly by Hotels.com and the manager.

You get what you pay for. Book at the Orangewood Austin website, I accidentally booked 2 rooms for wrong dates online on another site and they didn’t let us change the dates. If you book on Orangewood website and pay in cash at the property you get 10% off. My room was clean, but needs updating. I requested fresh sheets before traveling, but found a hair under my pillow before I used it. The furniture and carpeting were outdated, and the room had a strong damp smell. There are no USB ports to charge phones. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was nice. I wish the breakfast time was from 7-10 instead of 7-9. Overall a great stay for a great price, since we travelled to Austin for sight seeing and hiking to enchanted rock. The staff at the hotel was really nice and helpful both days.

Our experience was solid. Here are my pros and consPros: The pricing was fair. Rooms, for the most part, are clean and maintained. Rooms are spacious. The position of the aircon is good, doesn’t blow straight at you like some other places. The Room didn’t smell. Both the shower and sink have good water pressure. The service was solid, the lady we met was welcoming and she got straight to the point. Rooms are equipped with a microwave and fridge which is convenient. The beds are spacious and the mattress is supportive.Cons. The carpet in the room as well as the tiles in the bathroom are a bit sticky. Not sure if that’s due to the high moisture or if they are not cleaned well. Some might find it nasty. The gym only has a cable machine which is alright but some more equipment would have been much better. They advertise saying they have a great breakfast however it isn’t anything crazy. Just some eggs, waffles that you have to make yourself, and some coffee. Not much variety overall. This is nitpicky, but the furniture is a bit old and could use some polish/maintenance. The biggest con for me was the location, its located right beside the frontage road which is in theory good, but during rush hour the road becomes completely jammed with cars. Especially at the time of writing this review because there is a lot of construction going on nearby so driving in and out of the residence can be dangerous and annoying.Overall: This place is great for staying a couple nights on a short trip however I wouldn’t recommend staying here long term. Its safe and has mostly everything you need.

Always clean and courteous staff. Been staying here for over 15 years when I come to town. My only complaint would be that the complimentary breakfast has gone down in quality the last few years. |It would be nice to see some more variety or different items other than sausage and eggs and the standard waffle.|Maybe potatoes would be a nice item to add. Ready to serve fresh fruit would also be nice to see again.

La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Austin Capitol / Downtown offers a convenient location for exploring the city. The staff generally appears friendly and tries to accommodate guest requests. While the hotel provides essential amenities, expect a straightforward and functional experience. The property benefits from readily available nearby dining options and attractions.
Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness is a key area for improvement. Housekeeping services seem inconsistent based on observations, and guests might find sporadic issues with room conditions. Valet parking is offered, which is a useful service, but can impact budget considerations. Overall, a satisfactory choice for travelers prioritizing location and affordability.

The hotel room is very unsanitary. It looks like they don’t mop the bathroom floors which means they probably don’t clean other places as well. I got out of the shower walked to put clothes on and my feet were black. I took tissue paper to wipe up water I got on the ground. Did this three separate times every time the paper was black. Additionally the a/c unit barely worked. However, the location is nice. The valet parking is $40 per day. Didn’t have the best experience with them until Conner. He was a huge help!

Showed up and waited 20 minutes for front desk guy to come help. I believe he was outside smoking? There were people in front of us also waiting.
We finally checked in and went to the room. The carpets were wet. I always check beds for bedbugs and both beds were disgustingly dirty. Huge dark stains.
The doors to the bathroom don’t close correctly without creaking and making enough noise for the whole hotel to hear.
The next morning when we were about to shower we realized the shampoo and conditioner were left over from the guests before. They were half empty already. We called the front to ask for more towels as we were 4 people and only had two towels. We also asked for shampoo and conditioner. We were told we would be added to the list for housekeeping to bring some up when they come clean the room. What?!? We literally needed them in that moment. We ended up going to the store and getting our own shampoo and conditioner.
We were gone all day, showed back up at 6:45 only to find out nobody cleaned the room, therefore, nobody brought any extra towels.
We came in the next day to the front office and asked about housekeeping. The guy told us they only clean if you’re there for two or three nights. We had booked for three nights so we should’ve been taken care of.
All in all, the hotel is grossly dirty, service is horrendous, and parking is ridiculously expensive. Horrible experience.
The elevator also was broken the whole time.

No volvería a hospedarme aquí.

If I could give this place 0 starts I would… To start, it is nothing like the pictures. This is a MOTEL. When we entered the “motel” it was filthy.. upon entering the bathroom, we found cockroaches and mold in the bathroom. This was the WORST experience of our life. Save yourself the trouble and book elsewhere. Staff was not surprised when we explained we will not be staying, but we rude and not sympathetic at all.. We went down the street to the Cambria hotel and it was fabulous.

I waited to write this review to ensure I got my unexpected deposit back. First time visiting Austin for a wedding and I chose to stay here with my family. I had already booked and paid online before arriving a week in advance. Upon arrival I was informed I could not check in until 3pm but the website home page says “early check in” (website does not give accurate information). On top of them telling me I couldn’t check in I was then informed 75.00 was needed as it’s for a “damage deposit”. I was blindsided and asked why this information was not given to me when I booked online because I did not see this on the “hotel policies”. There was no explanation on why it’s not mentioned online all I got was it’s “for damages if applicable”. Then I was informed not only did they need a damage deposit but in order for me to park there I needed to pay an additional 70.00 for parking for TWO nights. Again nowhere on the site or in my agreement I got emailed was this information listed. At this point I am beyond frustrated. My husband went ahead and paid it because we did not have time to look for another place as we needed to get ready for wedding events. We get to the room and it’s nothing as advertised. It’s so dusty and has an odd smell. Every corner of the room has a thick layer of buildup. Walls dirty as can be. There is no mini fridge, microwave, or hair dryer in the room. So be prepared to accommodate for yourself. Rooms do not get cleaned while you are away. I personally wouldn’t recommend this place due to the inconvenience of an additional 145.00 on the spot gone (which 75.00 deposit was given back a week later), the lack of cleanliness, and the lack of communication from the business for not providing up front details to additional charges.

Not a good hotel experience. The rooms were clean enough, but very old and in disrepair. Unbelievably noisy all night from people slamming doors. Hallways and stairways and the parking garage were all incredibly dirty.

The Super 8 by Wyndham Austin University/Downtown Area appears to be a property that could benefit from significant updates. While the staff are often described as friendly and accommodating, reports suggest a need for enhanced cleanliness and maintenance improvements throughout the hotel. Many guests mention discomfort due to conditions within the rooms.
Overall, the hotel’s value proposition seems tied to its price point, but potential guests should be aware of potential issues. Room quality and general upkeep seem to be areas where improvements would significantly elevate the guest experience. It’s advisable to carefully consider recent reviews before booking.

Definitely won’t/don’t book here. You have been warned. Very unacceptable, uncomfortable & unpleasant. The room stink as soon as we opened up the door. Comforted had smoking hole. Restroom/tab was peeling, hole in the wall, mold, old stickers like a kids room. No iron, coffee because they wanted to charge us for it. Had two rooms and both TVs couldn’t get the same channels as the other.

I had originally made a reservation at a different hotel. I arrived after a 6 hr drive around 3 AM to find out my reservation was canceled.
I came here and the front desk staff (an older gentleman) was super friendly and accommodating.
The room was pretty decent. The beds and pillows were sooooo comfy. My daughter loved her bed qnd said she melted into the mattress and fell asleep immediately each night.

Worst hotel experience in Austin — this place needs to be bulldozed. The room was absolutely disgusting and completely uninhabitable. It was infested with black mold everywhere, even in the air — you could feel it pulling at your lungs. I got sick and needed medical treatment. Electrical wires were sticking out from the vanity light, and the outlet by the hairdryer didn’t work. The hairdryer itself was broken. The toilet barely flushed and we had to ask for a plunger multiple times. The refrigerator door wouldn’t close, so all our food spoiled.
On top of the filth, Diana at the front desk was shockingly rude and unprofessional — absolutely not suited for hospitality. She had no understanding of ADA laws and gave us trouble over legitimate service animals, saying they “don’t bark.” Meanwhile, drug addicts were knocking on our door until 1 a.m., a woman high on heroin walked into our room, and a known pimp was running girls in and out of two rooms down the hall. This place is unsafe, unsanitary, and a complete disgrace. DO NOT stay here.

Room smelled musty could use some air freshener..my wife and I are in our 60s and have disabilities we were placed on third floor ; however, it was quiet and we rested well….cigarette burns bored on top blanket….I asked for an inspection upon departure and return of security deposit however have not been notified that such deposit had been returned by my bank ..upon check out I noted a gentleman in lobby stuffing his shirt with bread …the staff was friendly and helpful…overall I have the impression that this hotel is working hard to make improvements …..they addressed each item I mentioned…overall my stay wasn’t bad but for the price I could have chosen a better place …from the work I saw the staff doing i wouldn’t be surprised if these issues don’t become a thing of the past very soon….everyone there was working hard and very friendly

Charging $90 and taking $60 deposit for such a nasty hotel is abusive. I usually don’t like living negative reviews but this time, I think I must help other avoid this trap. Please find a better place to stay. The shower is super nasty.. the breakfast is useless.. I could not shower, and I did not touch their breakfast.. you get much better meal at burger king for $5.

Check the hotel’s website or contact them directly to inquire about shuttle schedules and fees. Remember that shuttle services may be limited or seasonal.
What should I do if I experience issues during my hotel stay?
If you encounter any problems during your hotel stay, such as cleanliness issues, noisy neighbors, or billing errors, the first step is to inform the front desk. Most hotels have procedures in place to address guest concerns promptly. If the issue isn’t resolved to your satisfaction, you can contact the hotel management or file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Save any evidence, such as photos or receipts, to support your complaint.
What is the best way to get around Austin without a car?
While having a car can be convenient, it’s certainly possible to navigate Austin without one. The city offers a public bus system (Capital Metro) and a ride-sharing service like Uber and Lyft.
