Took my brother here while looking for some trading cards he likes. The atmosphere is very relaxed and fun. They have everything from manga, to board games, to fun collectibles. They also have 2 furry mascots that love to snooze in the sunlight.

It’s a super fun comic book store with lots of manga options, comic books, board games.
They have tables in the back where you can grab games and play with friends! They host a ton of events so there should definitely be something for everyone here

Great game shop. Unfortunately, the time I went they were rearranging and the specific brand of game I was looking for was reduced to a single 6′ wide shelf. Still, a great selection overall. On a down note, the expensive board game i purchased was missing a piece out the box. With me living about an hour away, I need to plan a time to address this.
**EDIT** I have to give props to DLC. They made my return painless. So much so I bought an additional $60 worth of games over my refund. Make the time to check them out.
Just please staff, restock or build up your stock of D&D materials

Great place to go for games and comics! They have a huge selection of board games and ttrpg books and accessories. You can play at their tables as well! And they have signs you can scan to get a gaming group together if you don’t have one. There are also summer camps for kids to learn various games. Truly, there is something for everyone! They also have cats!

Walking into this toy store felt like stepping into a time machine. From the moment I entered, I was surrounded by shelves packed with toys I hadn’t seen in years—action figures, classic board games, vintage dolls, and even the same building blocks I used to spend hours playing with as a kid.
It wasn’t just the toys themselves that made the experience so special—it was the feeling. The familiar colors, the sounds, the little trinkets I’d forgotten I even loved… everything brought back warm memories of growing up. I caught myself smiling just looking at things I once treasured and thought I’d never see again.
The store was well-organized, and the staff were incredibly friendly, clearly passionate about what they do. They didn’t just sell toys—they shared stories and memories with customers, making it feel more like a community than a business.
This store isn’t just for kids—it’s for anyone who wants to reconnect with a simpler time. Whether you’re looking for something nostalgic or hoping to introduce the next generation to the magic of the classics, this place is a gem. I left with a few small items, but more importantly, I left with a full heart.

The location sits in the heart of downtown Austin. Paid parking lot is right next door. It was about $6/hr. This place is a gem and a great idea for kids or adults. The kids will love learning how to play old video games and arcades. They have Super Nintendo, sega genesis, Nintendo 64, pin ball machines, a ton of older toys which makes you as an adult feel like a kid again. They even have a scavenger hunt! Bathrooms are available and you can bring your drinks inside. You can literally stay until they close. It’s $17 for adults and $11 for kids.

I can’t recommend this toy museum enough—it was an absolute delight from start to finish! Whether you’re a nostalgic adult or a curious child, there’s something here for everyone. The exhibits are beautifully curated, showcasing toys from every era and corner of the globe. It felt like stepping into a time machine, with each room bringing back cherished memories and introducing us to treasures we’d never seen before.
The owner was so friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about preserving the history of play. Interactive sections let kids (and adults!) engage with some of the exhibits, which added a fun, hands-on element. The attention to detail throughout the museum is truly impressive.
A perfect blend of education, entertainment, and heartwarming nostalgia—this place is a hidden gem. Don’t miss it!

We had a blast at the toy museum! We went down memory lane seeing some old school toys from our youth and some classics. It’s was great to share with our kids what the toys looked like back then and they know who they are from all remakes! Oh and can’t forget free play on all the arcade games, good times!

If you were born in the 80s like me, this is a MUST GO. So many games and nostalgia. Overlord for sure. Can get a little cramped when busy but time it right, feels like you have it all to urself. Must admit, Crazy Taxi was my favorite part. Some many figurines, games, and memorabilia. Took me back. Was able to show my son all the best of my childhood.

Stopped by to visit to kill some time before a concert and ended up stay way longer than anticipated, I’m so glad I stopped! This place is so cool! Lots of the toys on display I hadn’t seen since I was a kid. Brought back lots of nostalgia and glad to see this place appreciates the history and culture of many of these brands. Absolutely loved the little Star Trek displays, Voltron, Littlest Pet Shop, etc. Free play games all worked and were so much fun. They had Guitar Hero set up on a PS2 and I almost died! My favorite game ever! Had to play a few songs. They have a scavenger hunt you can do as you go through and if you find Waldo you get an extra prize. I’ll definitely be back and have been recommending to friends.

This Toy Museum and Arcade is such a wonderful trip down memory lane. From GI Joe and Transformers to TNMT and Voltron, they had toys representing all the best parts of my childhood.
This isn’t a museum where you’re going to learn about the toys or the marketing or the businesses behind them, but that doesn’t detract one little bit form the enjoyment me and my friends received walking through and looking at the great collection.
The staff were very welcoming and friendly. They answered any question we had and seemed happy to do so. Our stay was made even more fun with a scavenger hunt!
I’ll be stopping by for another go through the next time I’m in the Austin area and I’d recomend just about anybody that had a childhood and ever held a toy, to come by and see this place. Worth every penny and more!

I grew up going here for ~2 decades, and when I go back to Austin to visit I still like to come here because it feels just as welcoming and nostalgic as I remember it. Terra Toys is such a whimsical place with a huge variety of games, puzzles, stuffed animals, action figures, candy, magic tricks, and everything else you didn’t know you wanted until now. Last time I was there they had a magician to demo tricks! And toys out for kids to play with. Whether you’re looking for a present for someone young or young at heart, buying for yourself, or just looking to pass the time seeing the wonderful diversity of things they have to play with, Terra Toys is the place to go.

I had an absolutely lovely visit today! The store is very charming, fits a surprising amount of things for it’s amount of space while still being organised, and has prices that are surprisingly affordable for a toy store. The cashier was super nice, too, I liked the atmosphere a lot. I bought a stuffed animal armadillo and some little animal good luck charms and have 0 buyers remorse.

Gosh – it’s been a decade plus since I’ve stepped into the toy joy central location, and the Guadalupe location holds a very special place in my heart from my 20’s and being at UT and spending countless amount of hours looking for the funnest trinkets and getting bubble tea at their cafe.
Although the 2nd street location is just as fun and friendly with the staff, it makes me reminisce of my nostalgia days. Pusheen, blind boxes and now as a mom these days, actually having a child who I can bring into an actual toy store to spoil, and we all picked out a fun trinket to take home back to the burbs!
Prices are reasonable and I always think to shop local so I can see more of these fun spaces stay in my lovely city so I can continue to impart fun and sillinesses to children and those childlike at heart coming here!

Can’t bring myself to support a place that holds the limited edition drops on toys, Encourages their guest to message them on Instagram if they find someone cutting in line but they will supposedly publicly shame you and tell everyone you were the snitch if you do. So no one feels comfortable calling out the terrible job they do watching the line.

This is a great toy store for kids of all ages. They’ve got something for everyone: puzzles, kites, Legos, more Kinex sets than I’ve seen in years, static models, trains, RC cars, planes and boats, Gundams, etc.. They even had an indoor and outdoor RC crawler course. I’m mainly into planes and they had multiple marked well below Internet prices.
The employees were friendly but gave us space. This is my new favorite store in Austin.

The Austin store off Palmer is AWESOME! Gene and the rest of the staff are excellent representatives of the store and the RC community. I bought my first crawler just from going inside to look. The knowledge and no “hard sale”, relaxed energy had me trusting Genes advice. I came back in and bought another truck for my son. Two new guys to the hobby and were both loving it. I can’t say enough about this store and the staff, no attitude you see in other stores (even Starbucks can be intimidating), LOL! Not at this store, Kudos to the staff and management, literally everyone there is patient and kind, a rarity in todays cut throat World. They’ll have me as a customer for life. If you are even remotely intrigued, do yourself a favor and go in and take a look, really cool stuff!

This is the other favorite place of mine in Dallas. They have a great inventory of models, R.C. paints supplies etc I’ve bought quiet abit of supplies and a few kits from them in the past and I’ve never been disappointed. The staff is always helpful and friendly. The store is well maintained, well lit good parking etc. I don’t Iive in Dallas anymore. I stumbled upon this place by chance, expecting a typical video game store or a library of sorts. To my surprise, it turned out to be a haven dedicated entirely to board games. This is such a fun spot! The walls and racks are lined with an incredible variety of board games, ranging from DC Comics-themed to Dungeons & Dragons. Towards the back, there are tables and chairs where people can gather to play. They also host regular tournaments, which adds to the excitement. The staff is super nice and inviting. Although I don’t play board games, my visit to Mothership has really sparked my interest, and now I’m eager to give it a try.

Interesting little shop. Friendly staff and a huge selection of dice and other gaming accoutrements. There was a MtG tournament the day I stopped in and the place was packed. Definitely a spot to return to the next time I’m in Austin.

Use to enjoy this shop but my last two visits have been pretty awful. When Lauren ran the counter we never had any issues but the last two sales associates acted like I was bothering them or wasting their time. The shop was not busy but asking the counter to pull more than 2 singles is apparently against their policy now.

I was so pleased to discover that the legendary Lego customer service extends to their physical locations! There were a few active sets that weren’t being carried at this location. The staff told me that this was due to the smaller size of this store. But this is more than outweighed by the level of personal attention you receive from this VERY knowledgeable staff! If this location has the set I want (or I need some ideas/guidance), I’m 100% coming here rather than using the website!

Decent Lego store worth the drive over, well staffed, All new October Legos in stock. Affordable sets, free poster for Fortnite collectio. 2 Fortnite skins for Registering set and Linking Lego account to Epic!!! Busy but not crowded for a Friday. Got the BattleBus glad they had it in store.

I was a bit disappointed. There were a lot of ready to assembly kits Which is great if you want to duplicate others ideas..
I was looking for a large container for random sizes/ pieces to create new and individual creations. There should be some in the back of the store for such customers even if you have a small display up front.
Of course as always there’s room for improvement right.

Wonko’s Toys and Games appears to be a haven for hobbyists, particularly those interested in tabletop gaming. The extensive selection of games and miniatures is a significant draw, catering to a wide range of interests and skill levels. A key strength seems to be the breadth of its offerings, likely providing a compelling destination for both seasoned players and newcomers alike. Game selection is certainly a major positive.
However, consistent reports regarding customer service are concerning. While some interactions are reportedly positive, repeated mentions of unhelpful or disinterested staff suggest a need for improvement in employee training and overall approach to customer engagement. Addressing this issue would greatly enhance the overall shopping experience and reinforce Wonko’s reputation as a truly welcoming and enjoyable destination. Customer service needs attention.

Great selection at Wonko’s! We took our kids and they immediately left our hips, which was admittedly nice. I was sucked into the Star Wars section for a while. I was experiencing waves of nostalgia. The prices weren’t that expensive. We’ll surely be returning.

Great store with an amazing selection! Extremely well organized, and a variety of different games. Out of every store in Austin, this one has the best selection of Warhammer products. The only thing that turned me off was the person who was behind the counter had very poor customer service, barely spoke and seemed annoyed by any questions. Could have been an off day but he did not exactly put the “friendly” in “friendly local game store”

I feel like I should apologize for coming in and spending my hard earned money on their products. Seemed like nobody really wanted you there. I asked the guy behind the counter how he was doing and said hello. He said nothing to me so that was very welcoming. The game selection is not great at all. Very small wall selection, majority the store is just a bunch of people at tables playing and talking about Warhammer. There are so many other places you can go that will present you just an ounce of human decency. If you respect your hard earned money, I recommend spending it elsewhere.

My first real experience with MTG was with this store. I was invited by a friend to the MTG game night and when going to check it out the store employee heavily pushed me into buying cars packs to even hang out during the MTG game night, playing or not. Sure they didn’t force me to, but they sure made me feel like I had to and guilt tripped me into it when I said I wasn’t planning on it.
I didn’t have a deck to play with, I was on the edge of even trying as I was not sure if I wanted to invest in my own deck. Basically being forced to buy decks to even just hang out with a friend and learn about MTG kinda killed it for me and I won’t be back here. If I ever buy cards it will be from anywhere else.

Had a lovely time browsing today, alone in the store. Found some great d&d minis for an upcoming game, as well as some dice. You can use their tables and terrain for ttrpg! Great space. Lots to offer!

I was able to swing by after work on a Friday night thanks to their late hours. They had the exact pokemon box set I was looking for at MSRP which is even better. Now there’s a full art holo Charizard card in my collection off to be graded thanks to Wonko’s. Staff was super friendly and helpful. They didn’t even seem to care I was showing up at like 11pm. Great store, great employees, can’t wait to go back

Wonko’s is amazing for so many reasons. Theybhave a great selection of games, old school toys (so many old school Star Figures and vehicles) and they have the best selection of Warhammer models in Austin!
Right now they provide a great place to play Warhammer 40k. They run an escalation league on Monday and Thursday evenings.
There are two parts of the store, the section with all of the merchandise, a few gaming tables another whole section completely dedicated to gaming with tables, a couch, a projector and so much great terrain.
The store owner is amazing, I’ve never left this store thinking that anyone wasn’t helpful and extremely nice.
Wonko’s doesn’t feel much like a store, but rather a friend’s place with great stuff to buy.

Reply to the owner: Maybe because I was new to the place and I was distracted and I didn’t see any bag or cups?? Isn’t it your job to help customers? Regardless of if there our bags everywhere apparently, Why instead of directing me to where they are, you assume that I wasn’t going to pay for the item and walk out with it and the bag? Justifying a rude act and comment makes it worse, your reply was very unprofessional. I see why the employees act like that
The place is very beautiful and cozy, it gives you a different experience by being able to assemble your own legos. I’m a fan of Lego video games and for me it was the first time I could customize my character in real life, I was really enjoying it and seeing the interesting things about the store, but everything changed when I asked for a bag to put my Legos since I was thinking of buying several characters, the person who attended told me that I couldn’t take a bag with the following answer “if you’re going to buy it, yes” which at the time I didn’t like because I was obviously going to pay for it?? That ruined my whole experience because she said that assuming that I was going to leave without paying, that’s when I asked myself why and I realize that I’m the only black person in the store. After that act of racism I’m not going to pose in that store. Not to mention they barely have any darker shade legos for Hispanics and people of color in the customization area.

We consistently love BAM. It is such a great place for families, for people of any age at all! I feel like it’s one of the only places you can still pretty affordably buy your kid some legos. We absolutely love this place! The staff is wonderful.
We do scavenger hunting in the bins to find specialty pieces that we need for our Lego builds at home. We do more creative building than sets.
BAM sells many sets, including rare ones and retired sets. It’s so fun to look at them all!

This is a good place to find spare parts and full sets. My kids favorite part are the individual figures. They have characters from all kinds of sets including Marvel, Disney, Star Wars, knights, pirates and much more.

Nothing but good things to say for this location, employees are always helpful and willing to go the extra mile to find a piece or set. Trades are pretty fair and in store credit is fun to use.

This is a very nice store that has a very interesting layout. Half of the store has bins with bricks in it that kids can pick from and build, and then purchase the other half has new sets as well as built sets that you can choose and pick from as well as individual mini figs, which is why my son wanted to go to this location Unfortunately they did not have the mini fig he wanted because it is discontinued. Overall this is a really cool store. Fair prices would go back to look for more things in the future.

Wow! Amazing location! My grandson is a 12 year old Lego fanatic! The staff was so helpful and spoke directly to him answering his questions and engaging conversation! I was very impressed with them. Spent $240 and I credit the staff for taking the time to listen to my grandson and treating him with respect. Thanks y’all!

We have been disappointed that since when this once loved store started being disgusting. New manager? I don’t know. See this photo, this will blow your mind away, this level of closeness is not even acceptable, you have to 100% close the bag. Yes. 100%, even if the zip-lock is malfunctioning, I just cannot close it. I have to spend extra one hour to just adjust the Lego pieces to make it literally 100% close. Can you imagine that? Yes, we know we need to close it, but can you be a little flexible to your loyal customers who bring their kid to have some excitements here, can you please be not that stupidly rigid and rude to ruin a kid’s weekend. To make it fair for picking up pieces, could you please charge by weight, not by bags, because there is so much vacant space there, obviously you are taking advantage of your loyal customers! Can you dare to charge the pieces by weight, not by this stupidly unfair 100% bag closeness rule? Looking forward to your change, showing you’re not taking advantage of customers. I wish I could rate Zero star, but I don’t have such choice.

Pat’s Games is awesome. If I could give it even more 5 star reviews I would. I placed an online order for magic the gathering cards singles 17 minutes before I headed to the store, and they already had it ready by the time I got there. The person working was also super nice and approachable, and I got some dice on the house. The outdoor venue was also very unique, it doesn’t look like a game store at all on the outside but it does look quite magical! There’s places to sit both inside and outside if you want a nice place to play. All the prices are also really good too- comparably cheaper than other games stores I’ve been to.

Pat’s Games is the best game store in Austin, without a doubt. Wonderful environment, great ambience and kind and welcoming staff. A great amount of regulars who are genuinely friendly. Played the last two prereleases and bought a boatload of product and have never had an issue. Never seen a game store, let alone a magic store, this well maintained and organized. Great place, and I really need to find time for a commander night!

Place is a cozy little card sharp that hosts players to try out their cards with friendly people and has a 9 dollar tournament play in the evenings. If you play MtG and like commander this is a great place to checkout

Pat’s Games has been a cornerstone of the MTG community in Austin and even for surrounding cities for decades. I recently returned to Pat’s after a hiatus from the game, to sell some cards. I was pleasantly surprised to see the amazing interior upgrades they did during the pandemic! The floors and tables are fantastic, the space is optimized, and it is very fresh/clean in the building. I also want to celebrate Pat’s Games’ extremely dedicated and friendly staff. Even after years away, I was met with a warm “great to see you!” and exceptional service. I highly recommend Pat’s for anyone who loves Magic: The Gathering. Check them out!

Pat’s Games is almost my 2nd home. The shop just looks awesome first of all and I love the fish.
People running the shop are very knowledgeable and I’m always impressed with what is going on.
Getting to meet friends and new people that have tactics and styles that I can respect, lose to, learn from, encourage, and sometimes relate in other ways of life give me a place that links me to a part of the world I want to be in and enjoy.
i can appreciate every shop, I just feel like the place is built to be a gaming lair for all

Definitely have a decent selection of singles/sealed product. Greeted me both times when I came in. But I’ve ordered singles from Pat’s games twice within the last year or so and both times they have missed card(s). The first order was rectified with no issues, they gave me a free pack for my troubles. The second time around I placed a $400+ order and ended up missing another card that I was charged for, and was refunded a card that was in stock on the site but apparently they didn’t have it. Once I showed up to pick up my order, they did mention the refund, and asked me if I wanted a higher cost version of the same card. I refused since I already ordered the replacement on Card Kingdom. I should have opened my order when I was in store, but I wanted to trust that maybe my order before this one was a fluke and we all make mistakes. But twice now something has been missing. Just learn from my mistakes, make sure you check your pickup order before leaving. 2.5/5 stars
