Best farmers markets in Austin: find options near you

My friends and I came here over the weekend and had a great time!
This market offers a wide variety of fresh flowers, fruits, honey, baked goods, and even treats for dogs.
There were so many fresh vegetables at reasonable prices.
They also have a nice area to hang out and walk around perfect for families and friends. I highly recommend checking it out!

If you’re ever in Austin on a Sunday, do yourself a favor and check out the Texas Farmers’ Market at Mueller (2006 Philomena St). It’s hands down one of my favorite farmers markets in the city. The vibe is just right—laid-back, lively, and full of friendly faces.

There’s something for everyone: fresh local produce, artisanal goods, amazing food vendors, and even live music sometimes. It feels like a mini community gathering where you can support local businesses and discover something new every time.

I always leave feeling good—whether I’ve picked up some organic veggies or just chatted with a local vendor. Bonus: it’s very family-friendly and dog-friendly too.

Support local. Eat fresh. Feel good. ️

Great market, great booths, lots of stuff to find from local growers and businesses, they even got some really good tea and natural medicine that really worked from the lady there at Monarch Herbs. Also they got some good and healthy eats at Bountiful Pantry had some great gluten free pies and as well as I got my gold chain repaired from Crystal Nova love their jewelry.

This place had became too upscale and expensive. I rather like Farmers market like the ones where you can actually get plenty of farm goods at a reasonable prices instead of small niche goods at a high prices. Such as single plain bagels for $3 or basic baked goods as expensive as my gourmet bakery.

I think I only saw one stand with fresh produce ‍♂️

The Texas Farmers Market at Mueller is more than a place to grab fresh produce—it’s a full-on family adventure. Between the vibrant market buzz, the beautiful little book collection, and that cool airplane that doubles as the kids’ ultimate playground landmark, there’s something for everyone.

Our little one was all smiles on the swings, while the older crowd got competitive over at the volleyball court (who knew farmers market + spike ball energy worked so well together?). It’s family-friendly, community-centered, and sprinkled with just the right amount of Austin charm.

If you’re looking for fresh food and fresh fun, this is the spot.

The market is great, some lovely produce, Purple Cherokee tomatoes, unusual mushrooms – blue oyster and brown chestnut, fresh arugula and lettuce so good I wished I was a rabbit! Some lovely salsas and jams, vegan bakes etc. I found some beautiful bracelets.

Interesting and entertaining with good merchandise and great variety. Make a stop and pick up some fresh produce b while keeping small farms in the game. They are struggling and it’s important to have these resources available. When our food supply chains break down, as we all have seen, it gets hard to find what we need. Local sources become essential in today’s society when normal we depend on daily isn’t there.

While small, it’s enjoyable to check out a farmers market. The vendors are great…including the tamales spot. Very hot, delicious tamales with gf and df options. Rose Burkhardt is there. Their jewelry is gold plated and has magnets to make it easy to put bracelets on yourself. Parking is always a thing downtown but is manageable. Street parking and garage parking nearby. It’s within a walking distance of the downtown paths. Worth a visit!

Very reasonable market. The local produce is amazing! The variety of offerings is very dynamic!

Where’s the music though?! Is Austin the “Live Music Capital of the World”?! …. Hummmmm….

The prices $$$ here are pretty sharp for the Regular crowd @ Republic Square.

Food Stamps are accepted @ this Market….Wow ….

Never seen that b4… It’s a great idea and really good for the community but, it’s not really advertised that well and I’m not sure that someone on food stamps is going to pay $6 for a donut or $9 for a cup of coffee ☕.

With some tweaks, this market could be both profitable and an asset to the community…..

Disappointingly small market. Not much fresh produce, seems to be mostly meat, baked goods, prepared food, and beverages. I didn’t even see a coffee vendor which probably set the tone for my general disappointment.

Cute and small. This small Farmers Market is in a great location but has a small selection on offer. We counted 24 stalls with only a handful actually selling farm products.
3-4 butchers/meat stalls.
Only a very limited selection of fruits and vegetables. For example we could not find any tomatoes, or a good selection of leafy greens.
The website advertises 70+ vendors which were nowhere to be seen…

There are a few ready-to-eat options (tamales, empanadas) which looked great!

There’s also free Yoga in the park.

Really great farmers market! However, there are more stands dedicated to baked goods than fresh produce or animal products. There were sadly only three stands that had produce when I visited. I would love to see more farmer stands!

I love it! It’s just the right size, not overwhelming, so that one can get to know the vendors personally and best of all, it has a seating area under the shade of a huge tree where one can drink or eat on a table with one or more companions

What’s happening here is SICK AND INHUMANE. There are all types of animals crowded in cages sitting in the hot sun without food or water!! Shut this DOWN! This is animal cruelty.

It is a great market. Great place to buy birds, the horses are so beautiful there.

It’s a pretty big venue. I went for one specific shopping item. I asked at the ticket window where I could find that item, and I went straight to it. There’s plenty of other stuff I’d like to shop for but I didn’t have time that day. I will return for a more thorough shopping trip.

This is the worst FM in the world caged animals was the worst part!!! This should be against the law and should be shut down!!! The FM itself was pitiful. Nothing but Chinese toys cheap clothes and shoes. The restrooms were atrocious smelled like death so dirty!!! I didn’t even try the food!!! It’s was awful. I’m not a high class person but I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL!!! Plz don’t waste your time or your money on the hell hole. Love going here on a Saturday morning for the fresh produce and good vibes. So lucky to have an actual farm in our neighborhood. Highly recommend

I had the pleasure of attending a fables from the farm presentation here recently, and it was the most unique and extraordinary thing I’ve seen in a while!

The entire scene was fantastic. The staff and singers were welcoming, approachable, and outstanding throughout the presentation.

If you’re looking for a unique experience support this local farm so they can continue to bring these amazing presentations to our community.

Don’t forget to shop at the store on the way out! They have meat, vegetables, and all kinds of delights.

Boogy Creek Farm one of Austin ,TX oldest urban farms is a lovley farm stand to purchase local organic produce, and various non industrial raised meat. The farm house built by slaves is one of the oldest homes in Austin. Every Saturday morning I take time to photograph the many varities of fresh cut flowers.

I love having a local neighborhood farm that I can get fresh veggies from. They also sell pecans, pottery, honey, cookies, meat, all sorts of wonderful things from local small businesses. This is without a doubt one of the best hidden gems in Austin. Plan to volunteer soon!

Yup, well, it really is a ‘farm’ in the city. Less of a farm and more is a small holding, it’s somewhat overly rural, but will definitely appeal to those with a nostalgic, organic perspective on things.
It is however not a farmers market, in that there’s no range of vendors and things to buy, but it is a market for this farm, in that you can buy the produce (mainly veg & leafy greens) produced right there on this small farm itself.

In the heart of East Austin, tucked between gentrified coffee shops and vintage bungalows, lies a patch of land that time politely slowed down for: Boggy Creek Farm. It’s not just a farm—it’s a living, breathing memory of when Austin was weird in a quieter, greener way.

Long before tech startups and rooftop bars dotted the skyline, Boggy Creek was a muddy little vein trickling through what would one day become a city obsessed with kombucha and traffic. And at the bend of that creek, in the 1840s, a homestead was planted. Fast forward to the 1990s, and it bloomed again—this time with heirloom tomatoes, tender lettuces, and peaches so juicy they’d ruin your shirt.

People say the fruit from Boggy Creek tastes like what your grandparents meant when they said, “back in my day.” Tomatoes so red they bordered on scandal, and melons that practically sighed when you cut into them.

Carol Ann and Larry, the stewards of the soil, weren’t just farmers—they were storytellers with dirt under their fingernails. They grew with intention, sold with a smile, and reminded Austin that food didn’t have to come shrink-wrapped or flown in from Peru.

As the city encroached, Boggy Creek held its ground—defiant, delicious, and undeniably Austin. It became a quiet refuge for those who still wanted to taste the sun in a peach and hear the cicadas over the hum of progress.

And so, Boggy Creek Farm remains. A tale of fruit and Austin. Of roots, both botanical and cultural. And a reminder that in a town chasing the future, some things—like a tomato still warm from the vine—are worth holding on to.

My family and friends love visiting Boggy Creek Farm. This is a great place for the kids to run around and see chickens. Yummy produce! We are looking forward to coming back again soon.

This is a friendly weekly farmer’s market with a good variety of vendors. This medium sized market has on strip of vendor tents with produce, baked goods, candles, crafts and everything you may want from a Farmer’s Market. Other than the three produce vendors, they do not have multiple vendors selling same product. Many people bring their dogs and there is a shaded section with chairs to laze around for a while and listen to the local live musicians. I like to pair a trip to this market with another nearby market at Barton Creek Mall.

If you are looking for naturally grown produce and other whole foods, this is a good little farmers’ market. Prices are average for the area.

Small number of vendors compared to other farmer markets. On the positive note, it’s easy to get to and unlimited amount of parking. Also had live music and nice place to sit.

There is so much incredibly fresh produce this time of year.

Amazing selection of vendors. Free face painting booth is a fun addition as well as some great live music. Worth stopping by and strolling through

Miss the Yaupon Tea. Love Makayla’s Creations! Gluten free yummies! Yallitizers is another favorite for Mediterranean food and kefir. Wonderful live music today. Would also have to say if you’re looking for food to go as a treat, visit the Yapa empanadas and or the Thai food place.

Grass fed Angus Roasts from Copper Creek Ranch , homemade sweets from Le Renard Patisserie, fresh produce from Flame Leaf farms (and many others) , featuring ” Marky mark and the funky bunch of carrots” , and the biggest zucchini ive ever seen…

Born and raised Austinite here…Ive been attending this market since high school and each time I come, I am never left unsatisfied. Over the years, I’ve become good friends with the owner and she is one of the most interesting and intelligent person I’ve come across. Some of the reviews left on here, from “Anthony T.”, say she is rude and ridicules her way of running a business. Well sir I can assure you, you are no match for her. Her business’s, that’s right plural, are clearly doing something right because they have been going strong for many years now. May I ask how many you have? In order to be successful, you must be stern sometimes and be able to learn from your mistakes. If any of those vendors had a problem, they wouldn’t be coming back each weekend. So please don’t bother listening to a fool who got his feelings hurt. This market is fun and full of the best products you can think of

It’s my first time visiting the place. Lots of parking and alot of vendors. I believe they have more vendors than Muller’s (sorry if you think other wise) amd the spacing of the vendors were better. Plants, food, coffee, baklava, tamale, farm goods, dog treats, crystal arts, wooden arts, and many more to see!

I love this market. Do not miss Peace cheese – the best vegan cheese. This is such a laid back market. Beautiful produce, great breads, live plants, kombucha, artisan chocolate, locally raised meat, handmade soaps and more. Quiet relaxing music, great parking.

This is the largest Farmer’s Market in the South Austin area, at least that I am aware of. A Saturday morning visit to this market is a great family or date activity any time of the year. They have a diverse selection of vendors; from baked goods to produce, all the way to CBD and candles. Many people bring their dogs along to stroll around the many vendor tents. There is also a fantastic view of the downtown Austin skyline and plenty of parking.

I went once recently, it was small and crowded, nothing great, but good enough …..I was planning on going again soon so I pulled it up on google, and thankfully decided to read the reviews……I usually read all of the, and the one star comments too, because that’s usually where to truth is found. I was disgusted to read the comments about the owner, and further disgusted by her rude, snarky, arrogant reply to one star comments. I won’t be going back, even though the pickles I got last time were delicious. I won’t patronize a business that is run by a rude, nasty owner……and you vendors, perhaps find a better way to sell your products, because doing business with someone who seemingly berates and intimidates you, is not worth it. I’m sure she’ll reply with some ignorant comment, that’s what bully’s do. If you care anything about what Austin used to stand for, you’ll not patronize this place. The owner seems indicative of what Austin has become, filled with people moving here only to capitalize off the greatness that Austin used to be, and they are bringing their nastiness from wherever they came from, destroying the friendly, peaceful nature we used to be.

Everything is awesome. Fresh fruits, veggies, pies, jams OMG cheesecake! Handcrafted stunning jewelry….plants, even raw meat dog food and treats. You just have to check it out yourself!

The favorite flavor by far is PHOENIX and I have no idea why management is missing the boat. I have been asking for a long time and last week there were only 8 bottles and I got there 9am….Please supply what the customers are asking for….thanks.

I’ve been a loyal customer to this store since they opened! I’m highly displeased at my recent experience on Sunday. The very rude cashier packed my groceries in such a way it caused my loaf of bread to be flat. We didn’t noticed until we put the groceries in the car. I immediately went back into the store to inform her that the method she used flattened my bread and requested to switch for a normal loaf. She rudely dismissed me and told me to talk to the manager. He was very unhelpful and blamed me for flattening the bread. He said no one else will buy the bread if I exchange it. If I went to HEB/Walmart/Trader Joe’s this would not be a problem at all!
Please train your staff how to properly bag groceries and to have good customer service. Even the manager was out of line!
Imagine arguing back and worth about a $5 loaf of bread after spending over $300! Very embarrassing and poor service. Don’t get into the customer service industry if you hate customers.

They have every African food stuffs u can think of.

This is the 3rd time, I am placing order and the manager has no good customer service. The fried rice was too soft and got sour the same day. Today the 06/09/2025. I ordered fried fish paid almost $70 for large tray and I told the manager who took the order that I do not want the fish heads, but he still put the heads. That shows he doesn’t pay attention to detail. The staffs have no clue what is good customer service. Everything about ordering and receiving is poor. They say we need to patronize our people and see what we get from them.

Despite the issues my family and I have had with this store over the years, today was easily one of the most irritating experiences we’ve had so far.

Picture this: they offer a points card where you accumulate cash-back after each purchase. That balance is supposed to function like real money, and you can use it toward future purchases. Every time you scan the card, you earn more. Sounds pretty straightforward, right?

So I check out a basket of food. Initially, I consider using the points but decide against it. I figured it could go toward something else. While waiting for our ride, we decided to grab a few snacks and biscuits and use the points then. That’s when the nonsense began.

We get to the register and are casually informed that we have to wait 24 hours before the points are usable. Yes, twenty-four hours. Let that sink in.

After several rounds of confusion with the cashier, the manager comes out. I’m thinking, “Great, someone who’ll actually listen.” Except noooo, it was like talking to a wall. He kept repeating the same line: “Your money is there, you’ll get it in 24 hours.” What I needed him to understand was that this isn’t about whether the money exists, this is about a broken and completely illogical system.

Like, I get it. Maybe the points from today’s purchase aren’t instantly available. But my previously accumulated points, the ones I earned from shopping here for MONTHS, should be usable whenever I want. Especially if I’m still in your store, trying to spend them. What kind of program punishes a customer for wanting to keep shopping with you?

And to make matters worse, the manager kept cutting me off mid-sentence. He never acknowledged our frustration, never even repeated back what I was trying to explain, and wrapped up with a flippant, “Well, if you come back and the points are still not there, I’ll talk to the company.” Hello??? That completely missed the point! The issue is not that the points won’t appear, it’s that they are locked to begin with. Do you see the disconnect?

So here’s the bottom line, and I hope someone in charge reads this and actually cares.

First: Train your cashiers properly. If your policy is that only the first transaction of the day can use the points, then SAY THAT clearly at checkout. Either inform the customer up front, or just apply the points automatically. Don’t leave people guessing, then act indifferent when they come back confused.

Second: Upgrade your rewards card system. You’re a major business, and you can afford to work with a company that doesn’t restrict access to previously earned rewards. It makes no sense to hold a customer’s balance hostage just because they came back to shop again. Most major retailers in the U.S. have figured this out already so what’s your excuse?

And one more thing. At the very least, a manager should be able to listen actively and show that they understand the problem a customer is having. Even if you can’t solve it in the moment, listening matters. But instead, we left feeling dismissed, unheard, and very frustrated.

As customers of Southwest Farmers for five years, we did not deserve this treatment.

I recently purchased goat at this place. I got 10 pounds of goat meat. After I purchased it I placed it in a freezer bag and headed straight home. After I got home I marinated it and let it stay in the fridge . Tell me why the morning of Christmas as I am cooking the goat it starts stinking up and falling apart. The goat wasn’t even on the stove for 30 minutes. The meat was falling apart like it was pressure cooked but the skin was still hard . They sold us spoiled goat and when I called the owner they said we must have passed some place else before heading home. They refuse to refund us. This is honestly very upsetting and disappointing, I will not be buying any meat here again!

Good place to shop African foods and services. You can fine fresh food items as well as cooked foods. The staff are warm and helpful. I can tell it is all under good management.

The baker woke up and chose violence today on the buns. The stars is for the puff puff. The buns were a terrible disappointment. I don’t think anyone even tasted these before they were put out for sale. Straight to the trash. I opened several to see if maybe it was just one but the entire batch of buns were tasteless, no sweetness at all and undercooked. It’s like they too puff puff mix and said let’s add flour to it and call it buns. Please do better. We are already having to pay higher prices for your items so make them worth it please.

Sprouts is a fantastic grocery store! The store is always clean and well-organized. Their product selection is impressive, offering everything from delicious prepared foods and fresh produce to high-quality meats and a variety of cereals. The prices are reasonable, and the overall freshness of the products is outstanding.

Their deli sandwiches used to be what brought me to the store, but they have been skimping recently. You can see in my photos, they only give you a single slice of the thinnest meat on each “sandwich”. Pretty disappointing, and not a good value, even for $5.

Sprouts Farmers Market is a fantastic grocery store with a focus on fresh, organic, and healthy foods. I’ve always been impressed by their wide selection of produce, including a variety of unique and seasonal items. The store has a welcoming and clean atmosphere, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Their commitment to sustainability and affordable prices make it a go-to choice for health-conscious shoppers. Whether you’re looking for organic fruits and vegetables, bulk items, or specialty products, Sprouts is a great option.

Sprouts is awesome! Glad we have one in the neighborhood, it has all the produce you might need, a bit smaller than whole foods or central market, but still packs a punch with the variety and quality of the products, keep up the good work. Even the bakery section is solid with many options.

Easily accessible from Mueller/I-35, open until 10pm. Friendly staff, self checkout kiosk for quick processing. Items are neatly categorized. Ample parking space with accessibility parking available. Currently there are online offers/coupons posted so check out before arriving.Have a good shopping.

Friendly staff, grest healthy selections. The meats are really good here. A bit more pricey than HEB but way faster to get in and out.

Let me be clear, the vendors at the Lone Star Farmers Market are truly wonderful- creative, passionate, and a joy to support. I met some wonderful people on the few occasions that I shopped there, and found some great products as well!

This review is solely about the management / organization team.

The team that is running this market is unprofessional and unresponsive in addressing issues. It’s disappointing to see such a lack of communication and accountability behind the scenes.

Not many vendors and mostly merchant store vendors jewelry clothing CBD etc. Not many true farmers selling produce meat or eggs maybe one of each. My favorite both was Latin Roots selling these very unique house plants in these orbs that assist with self care….so cool. Sweet family run business on insta @latinrootsmarket.

Small market. But they do offer a variety of venders. Wild caught seafood, Gluten free pastries, home made candles, home made granola, and a few others. They are open every other Thursday from 4 to 7pm. Located in a little shopping center in Steiner Ranch.

More of a craft market than a farmer’s market as there is only one produce vendor in the whole place. There were a couple of people selling ready-made food (Taco Deli and some BBQ truck) but ONLY one option for fresh, local produce, rather disappointing. For the most part other vendors were selling crafts; soaps and lotions, jewelry etc…

It was a lovely way to spend a half hour and they had live music, but I wouldn’t consider it a good choice if looking for ingredients for a special meal or stocking up for the week.

COVID19 SAFE- Charming vendors. Wine CBD, Amys Ice Cream Lobster Rolls – Woohoo!!

It’s a great market, I love the diversity of vendors that attend. The price points can be a little high, but that’s the same across the board for farmer’s markets in the area. I can say that personally, I would never be able to shop regularly for any of my groceries at the markets around Austin.

Otherwise, though, this market is awesome. Clothes, produce, eggs, milk, honey, nuts, homemade apothecary items, jewelry, etc. Plus there’s less of a carny atmosphere than at the SFC Market, where it can be particularly difficult for a quiet person like me to extricate herself from the whole vendor customer, “Can I interest you in anything/we also have…” dance. I really enjoy our visits here, and my daughter lives for the marshmallows.

I had the pleasure of being a vendor at this market for over two years. I had wonderful neighbors, customers, and supportive market staff. I’ve moved on to Denver now but am so glad I got to be part of this vibrant Sunday market. Here’s to many more gorgeous Hill Country market days!

Staff are constantly having conversations on their AirPods and ignore you when you speak to them to say ‘hi’ or ‘thank you’ or PAY them

Great selection, clean, well lit. The staff is nice. You can get decent wines, various snacks. They have scratch offs, a small coffee bar. I have been in with my dog so i think they are dog friendly as well which is great. Go and check it out if you are in that neighborhood.

I love the Clarksville Market. Lo is such a cool dude and super helpful, and so is the lady (I haven’t got her name yet). Best corner store in town. However, I wish they played some more variety in music. Give me some 80’s and 90’s! Seriously though, best corner store.

Great little bodega! What I like about this place is that while they do have the regular bits that people buy at convenience stores, you’re also going to find that their offerings are quite a step above the rest in terms of quality. Brands like Bob’s Red Mill! Xochitl corn chips! Lots of good and healthy foods and snacks and beverages. The staff have always been kind and helpful.

Eclectic selection of snacks, beverages (including CBD tonics!) with friendly staff. One star penalty for not accepting SNAP/Lone Star Card however.

Went to buy hard cider and ice cream, and we were pleasantly surprised to find they had a great selection of both.

I would’ve started shopping here earlier, but their sign is kind of dark so I never knew it was open at night. It’s a really nice store.
