!!! Gama at Rivendale Homes saved the day for me when I reached out after the warranty on my plumbing had expired, asking if the builders would consider fixing a belly in the mainline piping. This would’ve cost me upwards of 20k (that was the first quote I received from a plumber who diagnosed the issue following a clogged line that caused spillover and minor flooding). Rivendale reviewed the issue, agreed it needed to be fixed, and because I purchased the home relatively recently (even though it was outside of warranty), they wanted to repair it and cover the cost. It was a hassle free situation for me from start to finish and they followed up consistently from the p point in which I reached out to once the job was completed. This community has the potential to be amazing if not for the poor craftmanship and horrible customer service. The sales process is great but that is where it ends. We have built many homes and when we pointed out that studs 24″ apart, and missing the concrete specs, and not having headers for the drywall to be attached to was below standard we were given nothing but excuses…even when we showed them the same exact house being built by a different crew down the street that had all of these items done. Nothing but excuses on why it was okay. Now that our less than a year old house has a crack down the middle of the living room, it has been the same run around. They repaired the crack except that you can see the repair…a one foot stripe down our ceiling that is a different texture and color. Again they are going to “fix” it except that they come at 7:45 am for our 8:00-12:00 window and when you rush over they are gone. We were told for 2 1/2 hours that they were on their way. Then when you send a text that you have to run to get a screwdriver and will be gone for 15 minutes, but the door is open and they can go in…they magically appear at the house and cannot go in without you there (never mentioned before or when you sent the text). You get there 2 minutes later because you were already headed back and they are gone. An hour later they need you to reschedule for another 8-12 window. Everything after you sign the dotted line is a hassle. Brohn’s motto is you get what you get and you don’t throw a fit!!

We had the pleasure of working with Jason and his crew on the designs of a second house on an investment property. When we reached out initially, Jason was quick to show us his other work and provide us with excellent referrals. He is very upfront and extremely knowledgeable. We worked with Jason and the Small House team from end-to-end to build an accessory living space (Guest House) in our backyard. We started with the design team — designing exactly what we wanted. We designed a living space, kitchenette, office nook, guest bedroom, and bathroom. We added a workshop/storage area on the side too. Total of 870 sq. ft.

Jason came on-site and was very knowledgeable. He walked us through all the considerations and challenges of building in a tight lot within Austin city limits. They delivered a custom design with all the appropriate engineering and site documentation to allow for permit approval in Austin.

We then contracted Small House to build the structure. They were a one-stop shop. They handled everything from the permit approval and city inspections to managing the entire build, start to finish.

Project managers were great. High-quality work, and the build was faster than expected. Little elements here and there were handled so easily. The team was so responsive and just overall great partners.

We paid $3500 for an estimate to do a remodel in our home in February 2025. I signed a contract and agreed to pay for an estimate so they could spend the time necessary & get bids from subcontractors for the entire job. However, the owner John and employee Joseph are tone deaf. I initially gave them a budget of $100K – $150K to remodel our Master Bathroom. Their response 3 months later – May 23rd – was an estimate for $212K. I told them it’s way too much money. I clarified $100K max not $150K for the Master Bath remodel. 2nd estimate comes back June 19th @ $155K. I asked again for a rework of the estimate & on July 11th – I received a quote for $139K. 5 months of emailing, phone calls, etc. back & forth and the best estimate I received was 40% over budget. I’m not sure how much clearer I could have been. We found two other contractors much more reasonably priced & both listened to our needs. Buyer beware – $3500 estimate fee is not refundable even though they are not doing what was asked.

We are currently doing a new build consultation with John Gioffre, and we couldn’t be more grateful to have found him. From the very beginning, John has been incredibly helpful, professional, and knowledgeable. He’s guiding us through every step of building a home from scratch with clarity and patience. His expertise and attention to detail make the entire process feel much less overwhelming. Truly one of the best—we highly recommend working with him!

As an interior designer, I have had the pleasure of working with Revent Builds on a large high-end residential remodel, and I can confidently say they are exceptional. Their craftsmanship, attention to detail, and professionalism consistently elevate our designs to the next level.

Be Warned – If this builder starts a project next to you, the owner (John) has directly stated that the properties and citizens around his sites and the direct impacts his construction has to the environment and the safety of the people around his projects are “not his priority or concern.”

RESPONSE – The vehicles shown (exception being the Rivian, trying to see around John’s subcontractors cars) are in fact his subcontractors. I had direct conversation with them requesting to have them move multiple times over the last 6 months and nothing has changed. We have witnessed, or been part in, countless near miss accidents as a result of his subcontractors actions over the last few months. As the manager of this project the safety of people as a result of his trades actions should be a priority. As his response indicates, he clearly has zero actual concern, understanding, or care about the life safety issues his business is bringing to the neighborhood.

Jonathan is absolutely amazing. He always went above and beyond with communication and helping us design our home. You couldn’t ask for a better employee:)

Pleased with Quality of Construction and KB Home staff are a delight! We spent several days arguing over color shades, options and budgets. Stanley and the rest of the team were very accommodating and patient. Final decision has not been made, however I think we are going for it.

Well equipped with building inventories, and designs. I visited the Design Studio on a scheduled appointment with my buyer. Needed changes were made. Staff very knowledgeable with products, asked questions to ensure she heard a question correctly. All changes we requested were made right there. The staff ability to listen attentively enabled us to make the changes needed and left in a recorded time.

I had quite a pleasant time here at the design studio. This was my first time buying a home, let alone building one so I was quite nervous to say the least. However, working with the team here definitely calmed my anxiety. The consultants I spoke with were both very friendly and helpful in any choices I was making. I received advice about choices that could affect my specific floorplan, which was really quite thoughtful of them. They both were very respectful of me wanting to omit certain things to maintain my budget, and I never felt pressured to add anything I did not want, or felt was too expensive. Pricing on options was honestly very reasonable as well, and it was enlightening to see that many things were the same price if I went out and bought them myself. I would definitely recommend giving them a shot if you are looking to have a home built.

I’ve never written a negative review before, but I felt I had to share my experience with kb design to help others avoid the problems I faced.

*Be careful because you might not get what you signed up for.*

I paid extra to have full brick coverage on the left, right, and back sides of my home. My quotation clearly stated, “Brick Front with 1st Floor Sides to 4 Sides Brick Group 1.” However, I later discovered that they do not plan to use brick for the back side above the kitchen window. Then I contacted my consultant at the KB Design Studio, I pointed out that other KB homes with the same floor plan had full brick coverage on the back side. Initially, she confirmed that my home should indeed have a completely bricked back side. But then she told me that their standard had changed, and the back side would no longer be fully bricked.

It seems that KB Home reserves the right to change anything, and they’ll simply tell you that their standard has changed. Additionally, once you’ve paid for upgrades, they are no longer as friendly or accommodating.

Although I have to accept what they give me, I told them that I am not happy with my experience with KB Home.

We bought our home from Paradisa back in 2020, and the whole experience was fantastic. They finished the house right on schedule, which gave us a lot of confidence from the start. Working with their in-house designer to choose finishings—like cabinets, lighting, and hardware—was smooth and stress-free, even though we had little experience with interior design.

The 1-year warranty was a great reassurance, and overall, we’re so glad we went with a new build. We’d heard beforehand that Paradisa is known for some of the best quality homes in Austin, and we can honestly say that’s been proven true. The design is not only practical and functional for everyday living, but it also has a beautiful curb appeal and thoughtful details inside.

My wife and I selected Paradisa to custom build our ‘forever’ home in the Bouldin neighborhood of Austin. We chose Paradisa after touring new builds in Austin for years, and after meeting with several prospective builders.

We are very thankful that we chose Paradisa–the experience has been about as good as it can be building a home (it can be a challenging process). Of course, there were unforeseen issues and changes that had to occur, but what sets Paradisa apart is how they handled those situations. Paradisa never tried to back out of doing the ‘right thing’ for the integrity and finish of the home. The Paradisa team always tried to correct anything that wasn’t up to standard or wasn’t in line with the design documents.

We had the pleasure of working with Todd, their architect, who was able to create a smart, useful floorplan that included our entire wishlist of items (it was an extensive list). We then got to work with Brandie on the interior design finishes, and thankfully Brandie is extremely patient and has great recommendations for how to proceed with the look/feel of the home. Once construction started, we were very fortunate to have Brandon as our project manager. Brandon is incredible– he’s never phased by any issue, and he never makes false promises. Throughout the process we worked closely with Luis, who guided us through the home building process. He helped us understand what we needed to focus on to clear the next hurdle and kept us up to date in a timely manner regarding the whole project admin, timeline, and financials.

There are too many positives to list in a basic google review regarding our experience with Paradisa. But hopefully this post helps any prospective clients feel more comfortable with choosing Paradisa. If we were to do this home build all over again, we would choose Paradisa once more.

About 3 years ago we bought a nice house mostly for the location. We had always lived in big builder’s homes and were surprised by the quality and features of our new home. The things that stood out was the quality of every part of the home. The energy efficiency is impressive. For about the same sq footage of our old home our energy bills were almost cut in half. But the thing that most stands out and why I am writing this review is the service. 10 years after the home was built, we had a small issue. I called Verde Builders. Daniel came over that day, inspected everything and resolved the issue. Verde Builders are a great company to work with but more importantly they stand behind their homes and provide world class service.

My wife (a Realtor in Charlotte for 31 years) & I have lived in our SF home for over 2 years now (28 months). In our case, the construction has been wonderful, super pleased. Even more importantly has been how SFH has quickly & efficiently handled warranty claims. Their proactive handling is wonderful – shout out to SFH & Mr. James Throgmorton. Thank you SFH – LOVING our home. Some of our friends in new homes not SFH have complained how difficult it is to get their warranty claims handled, so we really appreciate SFH.

Scot Felder was a huge disappointment! They build cheap homes with the bare necessities. Bought a house in Cedar Creek, the ugliest house and the cheapest house in the subdivision. No amenities and NO Quality in the workmanship. Toilets were chipped, caulking around cook top was chipped and cracked, molding around fireplace was not complete, chipped toiled in another bathroom, laundry room specked out for a sink but no sink, closets don’t have space blocked out for shoes, everything in the kitchen is prefabbed, overall build is a joke! Builder should be reported to the BBB!
Scot Felder BIG SHOTS should be ashamed and hang their head down low. Taking advantage of the consumer. You don’t see things in a walk through, you have to get in to see what a CUT RATE Builder they are! Sad day for any buyer.

The sales agent was awful once he got the earnest money. He suddenly forgot what he agreed too. Maybe that’s why they but SF on every home. Construction team is hopeless. They do everything they can to not fix anything. Cheap materials and unqualified construction superintendents. I’ve had over 30 warranty claims in the first quarter of living in my home. Unsealed windows, closet doors falling off, bad breakers, hvac ducts missing, all the drain clean outs needed replaced, and multiple tiles broken. Buying a Scott felder home is a huge mistake.

We had such an incredible experience that three other family members also bought a Scott Felder home soon after we signed our contract.

Where to begin on how amazing Kevin was! From the start Kevin attend to what home we wanted. He was very professional and attentive to our needs in a home. Kevin is the type of person that will tell you how it is and he is very upfront with everything. He never once faulter on what to expect throughout the home being built and kept us up to date on what happens next. During this journey together I felt as though Kevin lead us down the road by the hand and made sure that everything meets expectations and if not more. My fiancé and I felt as though he had our best interest at heart and couldn’t be happier with the experience that Kevin gave us! He is truly a great person and we are glad that are we are in this amazing home because of him! Scott Felder I hope you have more people like Kevin, he truly builds relationships and trust with the customer!
As for Lance the builder who did the oversight! He is just as amazing! He was attentive to the concerns we had and from the start. He made sure that things were correct and made adjustments to our home! Even after the home was built, Lance still has the personal interest to make sure that things are working properly and the if we have any warranty tickets he personally follows up (we only have a few warranty tickets which is common)! Lance is a down to earth kind of kind and we felt we were bless to have both him and Kevin. Scott Felder is truly an amazing Home Builder and is worth every penny you pay for!

My review is about why I didn’t buy a Scott Felder home. We wanted to build our own custom design on one of their available lots. In order to do that, we were told we had to go under contract by putting down 6% and make all the architectural decisions such the type of garage and the fireplace. However, we had no idea what the total contract amount would be for things like flooring and the many other options. We were given a 125 page document to try to figure out ourselves what things would cost. When we read that the upgrade from standard flat paint to semi-gloss paint cost $6,000 we were done. It was impossible to calculate the flooring upgrades due to a myriad of confusing options. Surprisingly, our sales representative was not able to help. All upgrade decisions had to be made at the design center after we put down $32,000 to go under contract. If I am wrong about this, I invite the company or public to comment.
