I had some landscaping work done, the company wanted their irrigation specialist to look at my system. The young man, Brandon was extremely personable and knowledgeable in his craft. He made suggestions to the system that were acceptable. Upon completion, he made sure I had no concerns. A short while later he knocked on the door to see if my dog was inside. Excellent Service with Opportunities for Enhanced Communication
I’ve had several positive experiences with ABC Home & Commercial Services, and I continue to be impressed by their professionalism and the quality of their work across a variety of services. They truly excel at what they do, and I appreciate the broad range of solutions they offer. While my overall impression is overwhelmingly positive, there are a couple of areas where a bit more refinement could elevate the experience to a perfect 5-star level.

For instance, when we scheduled the water filtration system installation for our new home, there were some initial communication challenges regarding the technician’s arrival time. I received an appreciated call informing me of a delay, but the subsequent arrival time was missed, and I had to follow up after hours. This led to a rescheduling, which, unfortunately, required another follow-up from my end to confirm the new appointment. However, when the technician did arrive for the rescheduled installation, they were prompt and did an absolutely excellent job, demonstrating the high quality of ABC’s work.

Similarly, with the lawn care services, I initially experienced a last-minute reschedule. While the notification came after I inquired, the team was able to quickly rebook for two days later. On the day the crew arrived, the communication was spot-on – I received a text notification, and Luis and his crew arrived right on time, delivering a really nice job on the yard.

A standout experience was with Jason, the lawn care representative, who was incredibly personable and professional. He arrived on time, provided a thorough quote, and efficiently connected me with the office for other services like painting and electrical work – I received a call within minutes! This rapid response truly showcases ABC’s commitment to customer service.

I’m definitely planning to continue using ABC Home & Commercial Services because their quality of work is consistently impressive. With just a bit more focus on streamlining scheduling and communication to ensure timely updates and proactive confirmations, the experience will only get better.

The groundskeeper that does our lawn on route 15 (Paul) in Austin is the most personable and professional customer service representative I’ve come across in years. We’re very lucky to have him.

We were very pleased with Bradley who took care of our irrigation issues. He was very personable, made sure we understood what we needed and how he was going about fixing the issues and did so in a timely fashion. Highly recommend ABC!

ABC did a great job on trimming back our trees that were touching the roof. They have certified arborists and respect the trees. They did not over cut any so that the trees remain healthy. Our trees support many different species of birds, their babies every spring, the squirrels and their yearly babies, and all the species of lizards we have back there, and their babies. I’m a raving fan of Bradley and the serviced today.I had an issue with my sprinkler system. Brad.came out and assessed the issues found the problem and fixed the problem. You would expect that from any company. However, I was out of town on business, he conducted business via phone. Most importantly he was professional, and treated my wife with respect while not making her make decisions she did not want to be involved in making. Clearly Brad still understands what customer service is about!

If you are looking for Texas native plants, this is the place to go. They staff are really knowledgeable and friendly. If you are looking for an specific, plant, they can tell you right away if they have in on stock. I created a butterfly garden based on their suggestion and boy the butterflies love it, all natives and non-invasive species from The Great Outdoors! They also carry succulents and cacti to great prices. You can easily find big thick San Pedro Cactus for a very reasonable price.

The Great Outdoors is like visiting the botanical gardens for free and you go home with some treasures for your plant family. They just had a new shipment of plants (August 16, 2025). The health and selection of greenery is unbelievable. We had to come back the next day to see what else they added and make some purchases for our green family. I found the rare Sansevieria Whale Fin and the Hoya Kerrii Variegated to add to my collection. We will definitely be back in a couple of days.

One of my favorite plant stores, definitely one of the best in Austin. Helpful staff, great selection, and the best place to go for beginners who need a little direction for starting a garden (I.e. me) can be a bit pricey for some of the stuff but everything you will get here will be quality. If you know what to spend on and what to cheap out on, make this one of your stops and get the basic stuff at Home Depot.

I’ve been a loyal customer at this plant shop for over four years. The first time I ever visited, I bought a $350 Texas Mountain Laurel, and the associate told me it came with a one-year warranty — if I wasn’t happy, I could return or replace it. Over the years, I’ve spent thousands of dollars here on soil for my garden beds, seeds, countless indoor and outdoor plants, pots/planters, gardening tools, etc.

A couple of months ago, I came in to purchase new Dramm pruners to replace my old ones, but the associate recommended a different brand instead. I trusted their advice, bought them, and unfortunately, after accidentally leaving them outside in the rain one night, they completely rusted. Even though they were supposed to be stainless steel. I tried to return them today and was told “absolutely not.” The way the staff looked at me — like I was crazy for even asking — was humiliating.

Two days ago, I bought five lantanas. I followed the care instructions exactly: same amount of water, same placement. Today, when I was ready to plant, only two survived. Rather than risk planting all of them and losing everything, I went to return them along with the pruners. I was looked at like I had just asked a ridiculous question and was told only two could be returned under their policy — fair enough if that’s the rule, but the way the five teenagers behind the counter made me feel was awful. They treated me like I was stupid for even asking. I ended up telling them to throw everything else out. I had planned to shop for more plants, but after that interaction, I had a knot in my throat and just couldn’t spend another penny there.

I don’t know how long their return policy has been like this — but for what it’s worth, I’ve never once returned anything in all my years of shopping here. It’s really upsetting and disappointing that this is how my relationship with this place is ending.

Most of my interaction was with Madison, but all the staff behind the checkout counter were rude and even appeared to be gossiping about me, with each other, right in front of me. Like teenagers do.

I won’t be coming back, and I would recommend others avoid it too.

This place is the best place to go for plants. They have a great variety of wind chimes, pots, soil, plants, flowers and plant equipment. They have so many choices of plants from big to small and I left with two new plants babies. They have clear instructions on how to care for the plant on the white sticker on the plant pot. They have a small koi fish contraption in the greenhouse. It was so beautiful and magical inside! When they email you they give you discounts to come back and I recommend linking your phone number to keep track of the points. This place is great and I recommend stopping by!

I’m an interior designer and always consistently buying plants for clients here and they always impress me with their knowledge and helpfulness. Hands down the best place for plants and pots in Austin!

This is one of the best plant shops around here in terms of selection and reasonable prices. The staff often approaches if you seem unsure, and you can tell they genuinely love plants. They’re knowledgeable and always able to answer any questions, which is really helpful. The succulents are cheaper and in better condition than anywhere else, in my opinion. I plan to keep going back. Highly recommended!

Tuesday July 14th 2025 I received a call from I believe Mike asking if I was happy with my lawn service and if there was any additional work I would like done to the house. I was interested in having my mulch bed refreshened and trees trimmed, however this is our rental property so I am not out there all the time. I told him I would drive out this week to take a look and if he could please send me a quote for the extra work. Friday I drove out to the property to take a look, and the yard was awful. Only one side of the house was mowed, the other side was super over grown. I was extremely disappointed. I called right away and I forgot the name of who I spoke with, (Maybe Adam or John) as I explained the reason for my call, he starts that if I wanted a quote for the extra work it would cost me $3000 for someone to give me an estimate because they do not service my area. I said “what do you mean I have been getting lawn service with you now for a year.” He stated that “oh yeah that’s right but we are dropping that area because we don’t have guys to go that far.” I said my lawn looks awful, and stated how one side of lawn was not cut all. I received no apology of any kind. So, I instantly canceled my lawn service, and I would have to say he was pretty relieved as if I was bothering him. The last time my yard should have been mowed was July 4th weekend, I was charged on July 7th. However, it rained all weekend and knowing what I know now, I am wondering did they even go out there. I do not recommend them if you are a property owner, their workers are not to be trusted.

Update: Not sure who I spoke to, but I wasn’t informed about the refund or the next week free. After describing why I was cancelling I was just told OK. Then the call ended.

Original: Cancelled after 3 weeks. Yesterday’s mowing was horrible. Bald spots, long grass spots. Either poor equipment or employees that don’t recognize or don’t care about a bad job. I’m not hanging around to find out for $78 a week for an average yard. I require much better quality results. Yellow areas in picture are from the lawn being scalped. Dark green areas are long grass. Just not right!!!

The picture I added has nothing to do with my review. Landscaping, under Lisa McDonald and crew was fabulous. Plants are still starters! Long post detailing my unhappy time with the rest of Top Choice. Potential customers, take it as it is. You might experience the same thing as I did March/April 2025.

It’s the rest of my experience with Top Choice that causes a negative review. I don’t do that unless warranted. This one is.

—Communication is very poor. Conflicting information, phone people who didn’t recognize me as a client etc. Frustrating and time wasting.

—Vanessa, Customer Service Manager emphasizes company over customers. Not service. Everything from generating emails confirming request (that Top Choice asked me for) to digging in her heels when those approved requests weren’t honored. I’ve saved enails/texts that document it all. Very frustrating to work with. This will be clarified later down.

—Scott, irrigation manager. He started out 5 stars. Confirmed that my existing irrigation systems were in perfect working order. Came out after plant installation to fix one tiny tubing issue and set my system. That’s where it went downhill.

Without telling me that Austin had just entered Stage 3 drought restrictions, he set system to run 5 days a week, using >50,000 gallons a week. Easily documented through AustinWater.org monitoring. On a 6900 square ft lot mostly consumed by a house, concrete driveway and rock beds.

I called Top Choice to get him out quickly to adjust settings. The woman who answered said she’d let Vanessa know and advised me to turn off all my water. Spoken like someone who hadn’t just spent > $6,500 on plants and labor. Who apparently didn’t know that clients get an email after planting reminding us that plants aren’t guaranteed, extra water is needed. Who obviously didn’t care that she was advising me to turn off all irrigation when temps wee at mid 90, climbing quickly to 100.

Vanessa called, told me Scott couldn’t come out for 2 weeks, and advised me to shut off irrigation. I asked her to check back with Scott, see if he could swing by for a 5 minute job to adjust settings. Got a text from her stating that Scott said since he set the system to my specs, he considered the matter closed.

Caused me to go back to my previous company who came out the next day to satisfy a customer who was left with unprofessional advice and poor follow through. Provided. me with a PDF of my settings as they were and now sit currently.Advised me to work with AustinWater.org. I did, and got a partial rebate for the bills incurred during my with Top Choice.

— Top Choice sent me an email after estimates were approved, asking if I had any special requests. I asked for a piece of plywood for wheelbarrows and lawn mowing services. I wanted to avoid further damage to my 5 concrete stairs down to my backyard. Damage done by ABC. I also asked that crews close my gate using the correct hole. Got a quick email back, confirming all three requests and that they’d be honored. They were not.

Back to Vanessa. I asked if the lawn mowing crew would please carry their standard mower down the stairs like the crew they were replacing did. Told her I had pictures of the previous damage. Didn’t accuse Too Choice of doing it, unjust that I’d noted it as previous damage.

Didn’t hear back for a day or two. Called my previous mowers, hired them back since they do actually carry lawn mower down and up and have real edging tools that can follow my existing metal edging. Before I cancelled Top Choice, Vanessa texted me that they had made the “difficult decision to cancel my lawn services since their crews couldn’t do what I needed. A mutual decision!

Had my first lawn service with Top Choice and am thoroughly pleased. Team members were easy to talk to, attentive to my beloved cat memorials, and did a great job on my overgrown lawn. It looks marvelous and I will be hiring them for more services. Thank you Top Choice Lawn Care!

I have been a Top Choice client for over 12 years. They are dependable and thorough. Anytime something goes awry, they are responsive and super respectful. They pay attention to keeping cut grass and leaves out of the swimming pool and edge all the right places. My primary contact, John, is always responsive and follows through with anything he promises. My yard looks great all because of Top Choice!

Top notch, gold-standard in customer service — compared to this and every industry I’ve ever worked with. They responded quickly when I first started, they showed up when they said they would, they were very pleasant even though I had to reschedule many times, and even when I had to cancel their service they were pleasant!

The lawn cutting price was low and, more importantly to me, it was fair. What I mean is, I hired a guy recommended on Next Door. He quoted me one price and half way through the job he bumped up the price a lot! Top Choice put their price in writing, which was lower than the guy from Next Door, and they kept their “promise” to me.

As long as they keep up their excellent customer service and fair pricing practices, I will always use Top Choice and recommend them to all my connections.

The team makes my lawn look great every other week. I mow the other times but the team edges and blows the grass to clean the gutters and sidewalks.

Most lawn care companies are comparable in work but what makes Just Right Lawns different is their customer service. I’ve worked with Santos, Cynthia and Vanessa and they have been such a pleasure!. All so helpful and very knowledgeable.

Customer for almost 10 years and they’re always leaving my gate open after they mow. This morning my dog ran away.

UPDATE: they killed the lawn. They added a service to fertilize but never communicated with the “mowing” service and the yard is dead dead. The green picture with the pup is before they came back to start fertilizing plan. The dead picture is it today. No one has called me back.

They charged me for collecting leaves today and as you see in the pictures….

With construction happening on my property and my yard in disarray after the July rains, I wasn’t sure how or when the lawn could be mowed.

Cynthia not only handled the scheduling and coordination with ease, but she also spoke Spanish to the construction crew onsite to make sure everything was ready for the lawn service. That extra step made all the difference and really showed her dedication.

Thanks to her, everything was handled quickly and professionally—and the lawn looks great! I can’t recommend Just Right Lawns enough, especially if you want kind, thoughtful service from people who genuinely care.

They took overgrown trees and bushes and made our property look like a New Home. We’re trying to rent it. They did an excellent job very reasonable rates and did it in a timely fashion.

Fantastic place to buy plants. They really take good care of their plants, have an extremely wide selection and the staff is very friendly. They even brought a cart to me, and promptly helped in finding all the plants I needed. I had to call over 10 places to find one that sold lavender phenomenal plants, and this one had it. I also got daylilies form them and they look fantastic. Will definitely be coming back for future plant/tree purchases.

Wonderful place! 1st time to visit. My husband and I picked up some Russian Sage. Good prices. They have a pretty large selection of almost everything that you could want. Cutters crews did an amazing makeover to our property including installing a very well constructed patio cover. Worked with our plans and ideas and made it happen!

We hired Cutters Landscaping to help us convert a dirt lot into a new outdoor space.

From the beginning until the end, the process was absolutely seamless. These guys are true professionals and you can expect great work. They have great systems in place (messaging, quotes, payment etc.) and you feel like you are in control of the process. My wife created a mockup and they turned it into a reality!

I had the pleasure of working with Charlie, who was an absolute pleasure. He walked me through the entire process and was available at all times to address all my questions. He was super knowledgeable, patient, and a really nice person.

Extremely positive experience working with Cutters, and I would highly recommend their services to others. We consulted with their in house designer Sarah who guided us through the design process from start to finish, and brought our vision to life. We asked Charlie and his amazing team to extend our yard behind our pool. They did an amazing job leveling the ground, replanting our cherry laurels, trimming them down, and extending our turf. We love the end result!

They leveled our yard, added turf, greenery, drainage system, and crushed rock. Additionally they restored our front and side yard after pool construction left it bare. Charlie and his team were very responsive and were able to accommodate last minute design additions.

The Guys at Cutters Landscaping did an outstanding job for us! My wife and I trusted Cutters to renovate our front and side yards, and they OVER delivered! Charlie, Zach, and the entire team completed our project timely, accurately, and on budget. We were impressed with Cutter’s highly skilled and knowledgeable laborers – they did everything from constructing a quaint porch and sidewalk using vintage pavers and concrete banding to modifying and restoring a wooden handrail built in 1935…These guys can do it all! Ed and his team did a great job with our backyard. They were very professional and what I appreciated most was having Ed explain the pros and cons of different materials and placement of materials so that I could make a more informed decision. They were on time for work every day, and very efficient and respectful of the property cleaning up after themselves daily. Ed was always available for answering our questions. The work was finished sooner than expected which was a good surprise. I would recommend G’s landscaping to neighbors/friends, and we’re already thinking of new projects for them.

Michael came out and was very informative about our project to lay down sod in various sections of our yard. The team that came out was very friendly and worked hard. We are very pleased with how it all turned out. I highly recommend.

I’d like to give G landscaping a big thumbs up for cleaning up my yard and taking care of it. It got a little overgrown last year as I couldn’t take care of it myself. They showed up on time and did an excellent job cleaning it up. It looks wonderful now. Would highly recommend them for getting your yard mowed and cleaned up.

G’s Landscaping did an excellent job putting in a driveway and 2 beds for my last project. They take their time and provide advice and ideas that truly make a difference in how the final project looks. They are reasonable and will work with through pricing to something that looks great and is affordable. I have asked them back to do more landscaping. I highly recommend them.

Exceptional Service and Results. Met with Michael for the quote, he was a great communicator and ensured all details were managed in the quote. Sprinkler heads and other items I did not consider were addressed. They committed to a date and time and committed to complete (same day). I added another star because Gs reached out in response to my review in an effort to make things right. They have changed their procedure to ensure that customers confirm a price change which is good. They have also offered 1 free mow and tree trimming services. Although I did not have use for their services any longer I do appreciate the gesture. I also appreciate the way they approach critical reviews. Their pricing remains a barrier for me but may not be for others.

I used their services for just plain mowing and nothing more. I didn’t have any significant issues with their service or responsiveness. They generally responded even after hours at times to some of my questions. My review is based on the fact that they raised their price by over 25%- which is one expensive mow. They did send a text which I didn’t see or acknowledge so that was partly my bad. Anyway, I’ll be going with someone else because their price is just too high for me.

If you have never been here, you HAVE to go! There are hundreds of plants in various stages of growth. There is always some friendly gardener there ready, willing and mostly able to answer your questions. They have community compost from all the growers clippings, who then get some when everything is ready. Everything is organic. And huge! I so wish that my garden was half as nice as the worst garden there. My sister and I love to visit. Take a hat and wear it because there is very little shade. They have chickens that are partially fed on the insects pulled off of the plants, slugs and snails and doodle bugs dug out of the soil. Fat happy chickens. It is a really wonderful experience to see the variety of plants grown. Take your well behaved children. Show them where their food comes from. Take your dog (I did). Just, please, be respectful. These gardeners have put in a lot of time, money and sweat equity to grow their plants on their individual plots. Don’t pick the plants. The food is not yours. Nor the gorgeous flowers. Walk only on the paths. And if someone is working, perhaps that is not the best time to ask questions. We are fortunate that they share their gardens with us. Thank you.

My best friend is part of this community garden. It’s a really unique garden located in the middle of the city. Pretty cool concept, I wish more cities did this.

I’ve been going to their Spring Plant Sale for at least 8 years now. They never disappoint! They always have a huge selection of tomatoes and peppers and a great variety of eggplant and herbs and a good variety of tomatillos! This year was super crowded, so I left a little early than usual. More for everybody else!

This place has a lot of plants and has very nice people! They asked what type of things I enjoy and want to do in life, because I’m a pretty young person, The place also has chickens as well which can be great if you like animals as well, Not too sure if you can buy them though. Anyway this place is awesome and make sure to get some water as well!

This yearly event is great! We love supporting the Sunshine Community Garden. The plants we bought are thriving and already producing.

I bring my kitchen compost here. It’s a great option for a person like me, living in an apartment with no garden to compost. The gardens are beautiful. What a great community project

I’m absolutely DELIGHTED with the landscaping work Green Ease did for me! My back yard is now my private oasis. Jesse was great to work with on the design — we were on the same wavelength. She took my ideas and, using her skill and experience, created something beyond my imagining. We’ve also had some problems with flooding rains and erosion which made our gate very treacherous to use. Jesse and her construction team were able to create a retaining wall which leveled out that area and installed a beautiful rock pathway. I couldn’t be happier!

What a team! I can’t say enough about the energy and commitment to doing an excellent job that we experienced working with William and Jess and their crew. They brought a lot of great ideas to the table and they really listened to what we wanted as well. (And if what we wanted was a bad idea, they kindly let us know, and saved us from some big mistakes!) They turned our unusable dead space into a beautiful living area. We will definitely use them again for future projects.

I was referred to Green Ease by a co-worker and couldn’t more pleased. From the first interaction with Will it was straight forward. I work nights so my schedule isn’t always easy and he worked around my schedule while scoping my project and made it easy for me. Quoting and pricing was also straight forward. Scheduling was easy. Install was quick and precise. I wanted a small pad for my garbage and recycling and he threw that in as a little bonus. We recently hired Green Ease to redo our front yard, and we couldn’t be happier with the results! Our old limestone retaining wall was in rough shape—janky and nearly falling over—but William and Chris expertly removed it and built a beautiful, sturdy new wall that extends around the corner and into the front of our house.

In addition to the retaining wall, they installed two stunning limestone planter boxes on either side of our walkway steps and built a border wall around our tree, giving our yard a clean, polished look. They also laid down fresh St. Augustine sod, making sure everything was level and properly installed. On top of that, they adjusted our sprinklers to ensure the new lawn would get the right coverage, which we really appreciated.

Our property is a corner lot, so we needed a design that looked great from multiple angles, and they absolutely delivered. The final result has completely transformed our front yard, and we’ve already received so many compliments from neighbors!

Very quick to respond and come out to get our yard up to par. Our yard is on the smaller side and their services were perfect for what we needed. They always responded to us via text and email and we never had any issues with the work they did around our yard. Lots of landscaping options out there, and for our needs (small yard that only needed maintenance every few weeks) they were great.
