I just want to say thank you to the staff at Brush Country Nursing and Rehab for how hard they work. A couple of Sundays (8/31) ago the nurse for my dad that day, very patiently took time and answered all our questions about some issues my dad was having. Then last Sunday (9/7), another nurse came in and checked on my dad when he was having trouble eating. She was there so fast to check - even though his nausea passed quickly, it was reassuring that she was there to check and make sure. The staff social worker also took time to explain my dad's daily schedule and ways we could help him feel a little more at home. There are many more examples. Everyone I've interacted with works so hard and are so kind. My mother-in-law is a retired nurse who worked in two nursing facilities. She has shared how hard the job is. Thank you so much for all your help, we really appreciate all that you do.
I love the staff and the rooms at Brush Country. They have a great cook and the meals are top notch. Super large tvs. The room always seems clean, and residents hang out happily at the nurses’s front desk. Staff interacts with patients and form close relationships. However there don’t seem to be as many activities like at other nursing homes. But it is very friendly indeed! The social worker was also very helpful and professional. The downside is it seems to be disorganized on the medical side. Once husband was discharged, had to go back twice to pick up medications and a wheelchair. Home instructions were not given. Alzheimers patients wander in their wheelchairs without much supervision. Rehab evaluation was slack. Husband developed serious C-Diff infection and was in hospital 3 days after returning home. The bed mattress was very thin and plastic with not much oversight by staff. Anyways, I sincerely hope it improves as it has a lot of potential.
Do NOT I mean DO NOT bring any family member or elder here! Too much yelling around the bed creaks too much for my grandpa he is uncomfortable, feel like they are just giving tap water. The smell is a little weird but understandable. Rarely coming to check they don’t check on other patients either. DO NOT come.
When I first visited I had such a warm welcomed feeling. The staff was so helpful & nice. Christine was just amazing! She was able to take the time with me to answer all my questions. My mom is happy and smiling!! I’m so thankful for all their dedication , patience and care they are providing for our loved ones.
This is a great community, with very friendly staff! I love visiting Brush Country because of the clean environment, and everyone is so welcoming! I’ve seen their care for the residents in this home and it is lovely. They are always on top of activities as well, they keep it lively and exciting everyday!!
Staff have been extremely helpful and supportive during this transition. Hugo, the Executive Director, was patient and went above and beyond to answer my questions and to help me make sure I made the right decision. I am so happy that my father is here. Gloria, the Director of Nursing, is the best too!
After researching and visiting several nursing homes in our area we chose Brush Country for my father in his final weeks of fighting cancer and being diagnosed with a new brain tumor. I was so nervous. The care that my dad received here was fabulous. He received better care here than I was able to provide in his home. The staff were attentive and qualified. My dad was quite a handful and they treated him with respect and sensitivity. I felt that they truly cared about him. He received excellent nutrition and was embraced by the community. I would recommend Brush Country to anyone who asks. My dad passed after three weeks of being here. His last three weeks were a blessing. I am immensely grateful for the professionalism and attentiveness he received here.
