The task seemed overwhelming when taken with my need to get my own visa and etc sorted out for the move. I was very hesitant to spend the money but knew that having my cats’ needs in the hands of professionals would reduce my stress exponentially. I can tell you that I would absolutely do it all again with the help of Pet Relocation, no hesitation.
There are plenty of pet moving companies out there with mixed reviews and places I sent inquiries to that are obviously trying to fleece you, promising cheaper rates and moving your luggage as well as your pets. I also found places offering comparable rates that seemed reputable but the communication was obviously automated from the start. By contrast, from the moment I talked to Kristina at Pet Relocation I knew I was speaking with a person and one who not only had true empathy for my situation but also had the knowledge needed to get my gals across the pond as safely and efficiently as possible.

I can’t recommend this company enough! Brittni Peyton and the team made the whole process of moving my dog to the UK from the USA as smooth and easy as possible. They were always easy to get in touch with and helpful throughout – our vet even said that she loved working with the company! We had a lot of stress with embargo’s placed on his flight due to weather and Brittni was able to guide us through it and get him booked on another flight as soon as possible. I was fortunate to work with the fantastic Pet Relocation Team to move my precious dog, Spunky, to my new home in South Africa. He arrived in June 2025, and I couldn’t be more grateful for how smoothly everything went.
I worked directly with Maegan Covelli, who guided me through this very extensive process as you can imagine moving a pet internationally from Texas specifically is no small feat! I purchased their full-service package, which meant everything was handled for me; nothing was DIY. Maegan kept me on track with an organized checklist, clear instructions, and regular email updates. She also provided a detailed timeline of events, so I always knew what had been completed and what was coming next.
Other than preparing the required documents and taking Spunky to pre-departure vet appointments, Pet Relocation managed everything: import and export permits; USDA submissions; coordination with the vet on tests and documentation; booking logistics, flights, and transportation to and within South Africa. Spunky’s journey took him on KLM from Houston to Amsterdam, then down to Johannesburg, before being transported to my home in South Africa. The travel time, spaced over the course of three days, went beautifully. Spunky had an overnight stop in Amsterdam to break up the long journey. Throughout the actual move, I was updated every step of the way through a WhatsApp group chat by all parties involved.
When Spunky arrived, he was tired (as to be expected) but in excellent condition. After being apart for nearly 11 months due to unrelated delays, our reunion was filled with joy and love. Throughout the entire move, I didn’t have to worry about a single thing. In the end, I rwas able to fully trust the compassionate team to handle every detail.

Made an overwhelming task manageable. Moving to Australia is hard enough for humans! Quarantine, vet treatments, complicated paperwork and multiple flights for our cats was more than we could handle. I was walked through every stage of the process including all the blood tests that are required for moving to SA.
