Zoom Room Dog Training provides a fantastic environment for puppies and dogs to learn and socialize. The trainers are clearly knowledgeable and passionate about their work, offering a wealth of valuable guidance to owners. It’s a great place to build a solid foundation of obedience and address common behavioral issues, fostering a stronger bond between owner and pet.
I’ve observed consistent praise for their structured classes, emphasizing the benefits of group settings for distraction training and overall development. Many pet parents find the positive reinforcement techniques highly effective and appreciate the ongoing support provided. The emphasis on early socialization is also a major plus for young dogs.

We love Zoom Room! All of the trainers are so nice and helpful with our boy Sunny! Sunny started in puppy preschool and is now in the Puppy + class and he is so excited to go every time. He is learning so much and consistently is better every week! I would definitely recommend Zoom Room to anyone getting a new pup.

We’ve had a great experience at Zoom Room! Not only has Ember had an opportunity to socialize with other puppies, but we’ve also received great training guidance and tips. While we’ve done and continue to do a lot of training at home, nothing beats the added benefit of training in a group setting with additional distractions to ensure the commands are fully learned. We can’t wait until Ember is old enough to start agility training!

My 4 year old rescue dog joined our family with no training, and didn’t even know how to sit. Ollie worked with Waylon and he’s has learned so much in just 4 lessons and is much more confident. We just attended our first Calm Down class and we’re super impressed with the setup of the class to keep all of the dogs safe (especially those that get anxious around other pups) while also strategically challenging them and celebrating their successes. I’m looking forward to doing more training with Waylon at Zoom Room and watching his grow.

My partner and I have thoroughly enjoyed the Zoom Room experience we’ve had with our dog, Lacy. Not only has she learned a lot in the group classes, but we’ve been able to stay on the same page with our training tactics using the phenomenal advice from the amazing trainers at Zoom Room. From the moment we had our orientation, we knew the employees had a passion for what they do & would be easy to work with on our training. Each class has built on the previous one, even if we weren’t with the same trainer. We’ve learned many things that will help us be great dog owners, and we’ve always been encouraged for our efforts outside of class too. All in all, there is nothing negative to say about the Zoom Room location off Anderson Lane. We will gladly recommend their services to anyone looking for quality training in a supportive environment.

We’ve been taking our now two year old dog to zoom room since he was fully vaccinated as a puppy and we love it here.
There trainers are calm, they listen and make great suggestions, and I love the positivity training method they use.
They definitely let dogs be dogs, teach you to work with the behaviors that dogs will inherently have, and really train you so you can train your dog.
I also love that they are so engaged with the dogs, they pay attention to what they’re doing well either or struggling with and help you adjust your training to work with where your dog is at.
We love zoom room, and will definitely keep coming. The training is sustainable and we look forward to the lessons every week.

My neighbor told me to check Zoomroom for my puppy’s early socialization. It was a great idea to enroll the puppy preschool. Since my pup was at her foster with her siblings and other dogs before I adopted her, I thought she is properly socialized in her early age, but I was wrong. She is afraid other pups in the class which was a shock to me. She is learning to be brave in her classes. I highly recommend anyone who is adopting a puppy. All trainners have been very helpful and always give good explanations and professional tips. Glad my neighbor recommend me this place.

My puppy Max and I have been attending puppy classes over the last 60 days. I really appreciate the small class size and the focus we get from the staff. I’d recommend Zoom Room to others and plan to continue training Max with them as he matures.

I cannot say enough about how wonderful this was – for my pup and for me! I did a couple one hour lessons with Christian, and by the last one, my boy was doing soooo well – but is a super smart rescue, and easily manipulates me into letting him ignore me (who can stop the belly kisses when he immediately rolls over when scolded). So, we signed up for a couple full day classes. Jayden did those, and I was equally impressed with her skills. The third day, he actually wagged and cried to get to her, if you can believe that.
I was very worried that these were just prettily wrapped shock collars, and no way was I subjecting him to that. But research said it wasn’t. I don’t care about research – I care about Duffy. We live in a state with lots of things that can hurt him, and my biggest concern was getting him to mind me and come when I called, no matter what. All this in mind, I went to the first lesson…tested the collar on myself, and realized it’s just a Tens machine on a collar. And here we are, a month later and he is thriving. My stress is reduced, so his is pretty much nil, the little freeloader, LOL.
I was the harder of the two to train, and both Jaylen and Christian handled me beautifully!! Pix is of sweet little dude after his lesson and a pup cup treat….

This place has given my dog Shadow, and my wife and I an experience that truly changed our lives. The training we got and the knowledge that was shared is invaluable and we feel lucky to have found Sit Means Sit. They gave us the tools and the direction needed to be able to feel confident to leave the house without my dog and I feeling anxious about what environment we might encounter. My wife and I feel like we can Communicate with our dog now and you can tell he is all the more happier for it. David really came through and was able to fit our lessons in the small time frame we had due to an upcoming trip we had planned which was our original reason for wanting to find a school for our anxious doggo. Our trainers Ashley and Jayden were super helpful in all the training we received and were patient with any questions we had. We learned a lot and have been training as we live but it isn’t work as it’s fun now. We appreciate and thank you all!!

We’ve been extremely satisfied with the Day Camp training program. In the last year we’ve used it for both of our puppies (Ruger and Sarge), each when they turned 6 months old. Their progress each day of training was incredible! The trainers spend time training the owner as well to “train as you live” so we can continue the training step by step in our home and even venturing out to other environments. This training philosophy has us continuously working with our pups who get better and more consistent every day!! Jayden has been our trainer for both puppies and she is fantastic!! She even taught our youngest puppy to walk on the treadmill so we can help get his energy out on the extremely hot days in Texas. We highly recommend Sit Means Sit Day Camp to provide foundational knowledge to both dogs and owners!

My puppy, Moose, just finished the 4-week day camp training program at Sit Means Sit, and I couldn’t be happier with the results! The program is set up one day a week at camp with the trainers and an hour lesson with me at pick up. It was the perfect balance for both Moose and me to learn together.
Ashley and Jayden were absolutely wonderful with Moose. They were patient, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience enjoyable. Moose did amazing under their guidance, and I can see such a big difference in his focus and obedience already.
I really appreciated how much time they spent not only working with Moose but also teaching me how to continue reinforcing the training at home. It gave me confidence that the progress we made will last long-term.
I would highly recommend Sit Means Sit—especially with trainers like Ashley and Jayden—to anyone looking for effective and caring dog training. Moose and I are both so grateful!

I am absolutely so grateful for the Sit means Sit team! Everyone, including the owner, was very welcoming and personable. My dog, Mila, at 6 months old began to struggle with dog and leash reactivity pretty bad. I couldn’t take her anywhere because of the scene she would cause. I took her to SMS and I cross my heart after the first session she retained SO MUCH! Of course the key is consistency at home, but my sweet girl’s brain just absorbed all the training from the jump and after her first 3 sessions her reactivity was pretty much nonexistent. The collar is not harmful at all and it’s more of a tap on the shoulder to remind her to focus on me, especially when we may be in a triggering environment! I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I would choose Sit Means Sit a million times over!

I have nothing but gratitude to the entire sit mean sit team. My six year old shepherd mix shelter dog (Lea) has struggled with reactivity since a puppy. As a first time dog owner, I had a difficult time finding the right way to communicate with Lea and to help her through all the anxiety and fear. That’s when the team at sit mean sit came in and forever changed our relationship. I’ve had my doubts with collar training but the team here has shown tremendous expertise and patience in teaching me and Lea to leverage the collar to improve our communication. From the initial consultation to group classes, I see kindness and compassion in their training methodology. Even after the 1st day camp, changes are noticeable and significant. Lea has recently graduated into advanced group class where she can manage being close to 20+ stranger dogs around her. Not only is she a confident dog now, she also learned to self sooth during stressful situations. Every group class challenges Lea to go out of her comfort zone and the instructors always made time for any questions we have. Lea loves her collar because she knows it’s training time.
Special thanks to trainers Gerry, Trisha, and Gabbi whom we worked closely with. You rock!

Highly recommend Sit Means Sit for dog training! As a first time dog owner, I was very unprepared for handling my high energy pup. Thanks to Ashley, he is now on his way to being the best boy ever! We did day camp which allowed us to have weekly lessons with easy to follow instructions, making the learning process much more manageable. Now that he has graduated day school, we are looking forward to group classes where we can continue our training. Thank you Sit Means Sit for the care and expertise of each of your trainers!!

Wow, I feel so lucky we found sit means sit. Who knew a Chihuahua could become so smart! I think the truth is they are really smart. It just takes a certain type of training to effectively bring it out of them! Pinto bean has grown leaps and bounds in just a few weeks and I can’t imagine what we would have done without this training! I’m excited for our group classes to come and to watch his growth even further! Pinto bean wants to shout out Madison and Christian for being the best trainers!

I wish I could give more stars. Madison and Christian are incredible trainers. Everything about our whole process was amazing and we are so happy we chose Sit Means Sit to help out our boy Whiskey. We came here with a rescued Pitty who had fear aggression towards dogs and people. Just a week before our first session we had an incident that made us nervous about the future and even keeping him. After 4 weeks, he is completely transformed and on the path to having an amazing life! All thanks to Madison and Christian for working with him, and us, and providing all the tools and knowledge we need to allow Whiskey to have the best life possible. The in person lessons that follow a day of training are super helpful and interactive. They broke down everything they did and helped us to learn how to continue the training while at home. Whiskey is so much more comfortable around other dogs and people and he has improved significantly with commands and being on leash. If you’re looking for dog training of kind, Sit Means Sit is the place to go! We are excited to keep learning and getting better with Whiskey and we will be attending group classes moving forward to continue socializing with him. Thank you so much Madison and Christian!

Christian and Madison were great with Canelo! Our 5 month old pup went in only knowing a few commands and needed lots of practice with distractions and impulse control. After 4 weeks, he has gotten a lot better (although still stubborn sometimes) and we couldn’t be more thankful for the trainers! He still has a bit more work to do but we think he will benefit a lot from the group classes. He already knows so much! He also went on his first plane ride a few days ago and did wonders!

sit means sit has truly been Chuck’s saving grace!! As an owner of a reactive dog, this facility has truly transformed our life. Chuck has learned how to properly walk on a leash (no more intense pulling to wherever she wanted to go), stay focused on us in hard situations with a lot of distractions (total game changer with where we are able to walk her now), and is way less of a menace when we have company over (no more jumping and scratching people as soon as they walk in the door from excitement). I could go on and on about the incredible behavioral changes I’ve seen in Chuck, I truly am such a proud fur baby mom, and it is all thanks to sit means sit. If you are looking for a training facility that actually works (especially for reactive dogs) this is the place to go. Being able to let Chuck go out and explore the world because we have the tools and training to tackle whatever challenge may arise is truly the best feeling I never thought I’d have. Thanks Maddison and the sit means sit team!!!

After 2 day camp classes with Sit Means Sit, I have seen a significant improvement in my dog’s demeanor and attitude. For a while, I really felt my boy was beyond help and thought he one of the rare untrainable dogs that cannot be changed. His partial blindness, youthful strong energy and my anxiety lead to stressful, unproductive walks and groans from neighbors. I did have skepticism on whether this training would work. However I was so wrong. Trainers Ashley P and Madison worked with him and somehow changed my boy Riggo to a calm and highly intelligent and loving dog. More than that, they emphasized patience.. for those out there with troubled dogs, believe me, the training, although quite expensive, is an investment for both dog and owner and happiness.

I am super pleased so far with Sit Means Sit, South Austin! I purchased the year-long package including 4 all-day one-on-one sessions and then 11 months of group training. We have completed the one-on-one sessions and start the group training this week! The first photo, Zach (my mini Aussie-Doodle) was in a perfect “place” command for quite a while with lots of activity around him (this is a major accomplishment for him!) Madison, was our very fabulous trainer! I kept telling her how Zach really reacted to children, but she wasn’t able to see that at the training center. So, she took the initiative on two difference occasions to take Zach to parks (2nd photo) where she knew there would be a reasonable exposure to children–she saw what I meant and helped me alot. She remembered everything I would tell her and always sent me suggestions or videos later to help. I really can’t begin to give Madison enough praises on trying to train both of us!

Lucky Star Dog Training offers a fantastic service for owners struggling with canine behavior. The program’s focus on positive reinforcement and comprehensive training methods seems truly effective. I’ve heard consistently positive feedback regarding their ability to address a wide range of issues, from leash pulling to reactivity, ultimately fostering a stronger bond between dog and owner. It appears a dedicated and experienced team provides excellent support.
The investment in their services, while significant, appears to be a worthwhile commitment to your dog’s well-being and your family’s peace of mind. The detailed explanation of techniques and ongoing support provided after the program concludes highlight their commitment to lasting results. Many seem to appreciate the personalized attention and the tangible improvements in their dog’s behavior. It’s clear that their methods create a well-adjusted and confident canine companion.

I cannot recommend Jennifer and Aaron of Lucky Star Dog Training enough! I put my 6 month old dog into the Lucky Star Dog Training 3-week board and train program. I was a little nervous at first about the cost but WOW it was worth every penny to have a dog that is trained, confident and to have this from the start of her life is amazing. I still can’t believe that I have a dog that can walk off-leash just as well as on-leash. My dog was nervous around other dogs but that quickly changed through the boarding program as well. At the end of the training/boarding period Jennifer took the time to thoroughly explain the training methods and made sure I understood everything. She also checked in with me after I took my dog (Bailey) home and made sure everything was going well.

It’s hard to even articulate what a difference Jen and Aaron have made for our family!! We sought them out after recommendations from friends but I was having trouble stomaching and justifying the cost. After getting our nearly 7 month old labradoodle, Macy, back last week I am positive it was worth every penny.
It is so much more relaxing and enjoyable to have a dog who you can truly communicate with and who has impulse control! Before training our kids wanted to walk her but couldn’t because of the pulling and biting the leash. Now they can take her off leash and she’s right there, listening/paying attention to them. We can have people over and they aren’t attacked by her love and she’s not a sock thief anymore!
Jen did such a great job of really helping us see what Macy was capable of and explaining everything so we could take her home and continue to reinforce the training. She was great about asking what questions we had and answering anything that comes up.
We’ve already got boarding scheduled for a few different times through the summer and know she’s going to love it! I have no doubt we’re going to reap the benefits of this training for years to come!

This review is long overdue — but I was reminded to write it after the most incredible walk with Rory.
No leash. Heeled perfectly on my left the entire time. He stopped when I stopped, didn’t react to people walking by or dogs across the street, and even seemed to look both ways at the crosswalk. When we got to the gas station, I tied him up, gave him a “place” command, and he stayed in the exact same spot until I came back. Then we heeled all the way home together, calm and connected.
Walks are actually enjoyable now. I can feel how excited he is, and when I finally “free” him near home, he takes off running and jumping like a total goofball — it’s hilarious.
Jennifer is truly a miracle worker. Rory stayed with her for three weeks, and even though it was tough to be apart, I would do it all over again. This has completely transformed our relationship, and I’m so grateful.

Jen is an amazing trainer. She did an amazing job training our six months old rescue for 30 days. My dog was hyper and won’t listen to any commands that we trained. After Jen’s intensive training, he came home so much calmer and learnt multiple obedience commands, and these are advanced commands, which I was not expected. I am now able to walk my dog without having a war with him. He hangs out with us in the living room at his own place without bothering us. It is truly a life-changing investment. If you are like us working five days with not a lot of time to train your dog, Jen is the person to go to. She gives you ahead start of owning a dog and our commitment is to follow through what was taught after the training. She also gives you consistent updates on training progression and provide a post boarding training with us on how to carry on. I highly recommend Jen and will return for other services that she offers including boarding

Jen and Aaron are amazing!! We have a rescue mutt that we took to them at around 7 months for the 3 week board and train. She is very smart but was very reactive. She pulled like crazy on walks, jumped up on everyone, and barked incessantly at anyone walking by our front fence. Now she is super well behaved. She walks off leash and stays in a really good heal when asked, not being distracted by birds or other dogs. They do wonders with dogs but you also have to go home and continue the work and be comfortable using the e collar. She sends pictures and updates during training and checks on you regularly the first week after training. Even after that she has answered any questions we have. We would highly recommend Lucky Star!!

I went to PetSmart at the end of the day, and even though it was almost closing time, Deana welcomed me with a warm smile. She was kind, patient, and very professional. A few other employees were also there, and they were just as helpful and friendly. I truly appreciated the way the whole team treated me—with care and respect. It was clear they genuinely care about their customers and the animals. Thank you all, especially Deana, for making my experience so positive!

They don’t keep cat food inventory stocked consistently for Fancy Feast. And the cat litter is not only on a higher shelf, but out of reach, in the back. It doesn’t get pulled forward consistently or restocked overnight.

Weevil and parasite infestation at this location. I’ve been shopping here for quite some time and make it a point to go check out this exact shelf everytime I go in to this store just to see if it’s been cleaned yet. It’s been 4 months now that it has looked like this and that’s just when I noticed. So it very well could have been like this for much longer. The bags all have holes in them and you can see the live bugs crawling in and out of the bags. I do understand that retail in general requires a lot of cleaning and upkeep, but this is unacceptable. It’s been like this for an extended period of time and new bags get thrown on the shelf right on top of this disgusting infestation. I refuse to buy any kind of food or treats from this location. It’s not worth endangering the health of my animals. I’m flabbergasted that there is not any kind of cleaning methods and/or parasite control in place for such a big box retail store. I highly recommend you inspect your purchases from this location to ensure your not buying infested dog and cat food. Seriously PetSmart do better, our animals deserve at bare minimum clean food.

Have good selection of food and toys but their grooming service is questionable. First time I took my dog she came back shaking and crying, and everytime she wouldn’t wanna go back. When she was entering the end of her life, she had a cancer bump on her side and we told our groomer to not worry about cutting near there but we believe she did anyway and that she bite her because it hurt her. Would not recommend for pet grooming, I wish we took my dog somewhere different that didn’t hurt her, but now we have learned our lesson and won’t be bringing our new puppy to get groomed here. Would recommend the toys though, she loves those!
Update: my dad said that the last time we took her, he went back in to get something ve forgot and he caught the end of what looked like she was gonna hit our dog, and she kinda went “eh he” like she wasnt doing anything. He’s not sure but with the way she would come back shaking i believe it.

Took my dog for grooming, they left her face choppy and parts of her very uneven. I didn’t want to be confrontational and I had paid before even seeing her, but please don’t take your pet here. The workers/staff/groomers are all very nice but that doesn’t make up for the fact that I’m $50 short and my dog looks like she was cut by a toddler.

So impressed with this facility. We just had our dog’s evaluation day and as an anxious dog mom could not recommend this daycare more. My dog is an ex stray/ shelter dog and has super bad anxiety with kennels and separation (to the point he cries, scratches the ground trying to get out, breaks things, poops or pees himself) so we were super nervous going into this. He was anxious at drop off saying goodbye to us but OMG he ended up loving it I have never seen him more happy and free and he made so many dog friends, practicing social skills in a safe, monitored manner . The whole staff is super friendly and helpful with all the questions I had. We will definitely be back for years to come!

Actually crying while I write this. My experience with Taurus Academy on McNiel was above and beyond my (already high) expectations. Last minute, I had to get my dogs out of my apartment and quickly find a new place to live. I had never boarded them before and they worked with me on timing for the evaluation, they were boarded the same day and stayed for TWO WEEKS. I unfortunately had to keep extending due to my situation and they were always accommodating, and let me know how happy they were to spend a little more time with my boys. I got daily pictures of them playing and updates on how they were doing, which made me much less stressed about the whole situation, and it also helped to know they were kenneled together. Every single person I worked with was so kind and understanding and I truly felt they just wanted to do right by me and my babies. These people actually care about dogs and their families. Just look at their smiles when I picked them up! I will absolutely be boarding them there again when needed. They deserve a million stars ⭐️

Taurus Academy McNeil is the only place I would take my dog for daycare, boarding, or grooming. My dog used to be the most shy and secure dog, but she has blossomed after going to daycare at Taurus. The staff there have always been the most friendly people. My dog and Billy are best friends they just have the best time together. I know that when I drop my dog off at Taurus that is she is going to be well taken care of and loved. They even threw her a birthday party when she turned one year old.

I always feel completely at ease dropping my dogs off here! I can tell they are truly loved and well cared for by the whole team. Everyone is so kind and welcoming, and they always greet my dogs by name the moment we walk in the door. It means so much knowing they’re in such safe and caring hands!

Only place my boy takes himself to the back to! The staff treat you and your pup like family! This is the second daycare he’s been too due to the first (pet paradise in cedar park) mistreating him- called them up and they said they always have a place for him! We enjoy seeing the friendly staff every morning! Thank you Taurus for loving my boy just as much as I do! ❤️

I started our 3 month old puppy at Taurus McNeil for puppy daycare and she was so welcomed and happy I decided to enroll Skye in the training program for 10 days when she was 6 months. Skye is a large breed puppy with a mind of her own….Chloe has such a great program where she focused on behavior, new commands and interaction/homework for us at home. We were sent pictures and videos of her training with specific instructions on what was worked on and how to proceed. All of her instructions were also written and given to us in a daily folder. Skye graduated last week and has truly mastered commands but more importantly watches my every move when we are out walking instead of jumping on people or other dogs. I know I have to keep the regimen going to really cement it in. I am so grateful to Chloe and her attention to detail and a solid love for dogs. Thank you!

My pup loves going to Taurus. She is participating in the training now and has already learned so much. She loves the play days and can’t wait to get inside when we pull up.
The staff is beyond kind and caring. We appreciate Taurus so much. I know my little girl will be loved and cared for.

I’ve been doing doggy daycare for some time, but decided to do the two week board and train program. I absolutely loved working with Loren the main trainer. She’s is so sweet, knowledgeable and my dog responds so well. He was taken very good care of! The training is really great – I have the tools to continue to train and work at home. He’s listening so well and I’m excited to take him out more.

Alana has groomed our Bernedoodle twice now, and has shown wonderful skill, patience, and communication. Even though he’s a wiggly puppy, he comes back looking and feeling amazing, with the exact cut we ask for. Scout has been going to Taurus Academy since the fall of 2024. His excitement walking in each day tells me all I need to know – he is getting the enrichment play and attention he needs as a young fur boy! (and he’s there at least 4 days a week.) The staff are genuinely interested in his care and development, and they listen to me patiently go on and on about him.

Our bulldog, Donna, gets so excited when we pull into the Taurus parking lot. She started attending when we moved to Austin and recently spent a week in boarding. Getting the daily report card is so reassuring, as she always looks so happy. We highly recommend Taurus to everyone as their specialized care for each dog is top notch!

We love Kenny!
We took our 3 year old dog Molly to Kenny for basic obedience training. After the 6 sessions, we’ve come away with a much better behaved dog and the knowledge and confidence to continue our training efforts.
Kenny was thorough, adaptable, and made each session fun. Molly was even excited each time we told her “We’re going to see Kenny!”
We especially enjoyed how Kenny explained each facet of training — why Molly should know each command, why the commands should be given a particular way, and how each new command will help her to be a better behaved dog in general.
Our biggest priority coming into training was to get Molly leash trained (she was a big puller). It was beyond frustrating to walk a dog who was pulling us in every direction! Now we enjoy walking her again, and Molly gets to happily explore the neighborhood as she practices her newfound leash manners. Thank you, Kenny!

When I first brought my 5-month-old puppy to Kenny, she was completely untrained and very fearful. I wasn’t sure how she would respond to working with someone new, but Kenny quickly earned her trust. After just a few sessions, I started seeing such a positive change — she became more confident, responsive, and comfortable in new situations.
What really sets Kenny apart is his clear approach to training. He explains methods in a straightforward, effective way that makes it easy to understand what’s expected — for both the dog and the myself. I especially appreciated the detailed email follow-ups after each session. They provided a great recap of what we covered and gave us “homework” to keep making progress between sessions.
Kenny was also incredibly responsive and open to questions, always willing to provide thoughtful answers and guidance. It’s clear he truly cares about helping both dogs and their people succeed.
Thanks to Kenny, my puppy is growing into a confident and well-behaved companion. I couldn’t be happier with the experience and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a skilled, dedicated, and professional dog trainer.

Kenny was so great with our dog, Maya. Maya is so smart but so stubborn and Kenny had so many extra tips and tricks to help us keep Maya engaged and following our orders. He always answered all of our emails very quickly and was very accommodating with our limited availability. He took great care to ensure Maya was comfortable/unafraid (she gets nervous around new people) during our sessions and walked us through the correct way to continue her training at home.

We had the best experience with Kenny! He helped us train our 10 month old puppy, Franklin, learn basic obedience. He tailored the sessions to what we wanted to focus on and throughly explained every detail of the command. If one way didn’t work for us, Kenny would always have a different solution. Before one of the sessions it had rained outside causing Franklin’s paws to be a bit slippery on his floor due to walking on the wet grass before the training started. The next session, Kenny had completely redone the floor and added nonslip flooring down everywhere. We were so impressed that he went above and beyond to accommodate his clients. His house is really tailored to the dog’s needs.
He also has excellent communication skills and we really loved his follow up emails detailing the prior training. It is evident Kenny truly cares about dogs and loves what he does. We are very pleased with Franklin’s training and fast improvement. Highly recommend Kenny!

10/10 recommend working with Kenny! He made a huge impact with my 6-month-old puppy in such a short time. Before training, it was starting to be tough to take him places because he pulled on the leash and jumped on people. He was also starting to bark a ton. Now, I barely have to touch the leash, he sits patiently in public, and his barking has gone down by 95%. Kenny is effective and also incredibly easy and enjoyable to work with.

We worked with Kenny for a package of training sessions with our heeler mix, Kai. We saw a great improvement in our pup’s manners and obedience from following Kenny’s guidance and instructions. The lessons went at a steady pace that kept our pup engaged but not too overwhelmed. They were simple, but effective with the right practice at home.
Our main issue that we came to Kenny for was leash pulling and reactivity with other dogs. His loose-leash walking training helped us get a handle on this and he’s much better for us now on walks and with other dogs.
Kenny provides detailed instructions following each lesson that are good resources to go back to. He is also a great resource on all things dog training and gave us helpful advice on any questions we had. He is also very responsive to questions over email, and accomodating with any rescheduling needs.
His space is set up great for training purposes and has even dedicated his backyard to dog training. We have done group training classes before, but found a lot more value in working directly with a trainer. Kai also loved seeing and working with Kenny and got excited everytime he knew where we were going. Very pleased with our training, and would recommend Kenny to anyone looking for a trainer!

Kenny is terrific! He helped my wife and I train our 4 year old Boston terrier, and the improvement in her behavior and skills was noticeable very soon after we started our lessons. Kenny has a great way with dogs and people alike, and it makes the whole experience fun and enjoyable. It is very obvious in working with Kenny that he has a strong passion for helping dogs be their best! He also understands that success in training will depend on an owner’s commitment to the process, so he is very supportive throughout with follow ups and his availability for questions between sessions as well. We can’t thank him enough for his help, and HIGHLY recommend him to anyone looking for qualify dog training in Austin!

My husband and I recently enrolled our reactive pit bull-cattle dog mix in the Reactive Dog Class Level 1, which turned out to be an incredibly informative virtual course. It covers the basics of reactive behavior and provides strategies for gradually avoiding triggering situations. We gained so much from this class and quickly began noticing positive changes in our dog. Once that class concluded, we signed up for the Reactive Dog Level 2 class, and we were paired with Joanna—what a perfect fit for our dog! She is kind, personable, and professional, making us feel very at ease. Our dog, Bucket, absolutely adores her.
We have transitioned to private lessons and plan to continue with them for as long as she will have us!
Joanna has an intuitive approach and is teaching me a great deal about my own dog. She has an incredible knack for noticing the most subtle shifts in his body language. The private classes have been a true blessing. Bucket eagerly jumps into the car with a wagging tail when we ask him if he wants to go see his friend Joanna!
I cannot express enough good things about Everydog Austin. They offer a remarkable variety of classes—from puppy training to a fun senior class, as well as specialty classes like nosework, rally, and agility!
Honestly, we can’t wait to get all four of our pups enrolled in classes. If you’re hesitating, just go for it! They even provide financial assistance!

Update: The owner Michele, reached out and listened to my concerns. We scheduled a make-up lesson, and the experience met more of my expectations. We built a personalized plan for Archie, practiced reactivity scenarios and received real-time body language insight, Michele also recorded the session for me to observe his body language. I appreciate the follow-through and wanted to reflect the improvement.
I’m giving 2 stars because I felt like my expectations did not match the service provided.
Let me first say that I think this company has a really great mission and I wholeheartedly respect their passion for wanting to help every dog and owner, no matter the circumstances.
That being said, my own experience fell short of what was advertised and expected. First the website describes a 60–75 minute consultation with a personalized training plan for your dog, but my consult was closer to 45–50 minutes, and no clear plan was provided. During the initial consult a lot of background information was collected about my dog, but a few times I found myself repeating details I had already provided. While the trainer did explain some things during the consult, I asked if she could provide a bit more structure to help me get started, like homework or a what a long term plan might look like. She did suggest some games and enrichment, but I emailed afterward to give her more context letting her know that many of the recommendations were things I had already tried or was already doing.
A week and a half later, we attended an in-person session. I wish there had been clearer communication beforehand so I knew what to expect. I wasn’t sure where they wanted me to position Archie or what we were supposed to do, so I let him stand in front of me. For a livestock guardian breed, that likely wasn’t the best choice. As it naturally puts him in more of a guarding role. In hindsight, I should have been more mindful of that, as it probably contributed to his nervousness. More direct coaching on leash handling, positioning, and how to engage with him in that space would have been really helpful.
During the session, treats were tossed across the room, but they didn’t always land close enough for Archie to reach, which led him to pull on the leash and become a bit frustrated. It was unclear if they wanted me to walk him over to the treats or hold him back. A little more guidance in that moment would have made it easier for both of us.
Some of the same questions about Archie’s background were repeated, despite being covered in the initial consult, which took time away from working on skills. The behaviorist I was assigned to stayed mostly hands-off during this session. While most of the hands-on interaction came from another trainer I hadn’t met before. She was friendly and was able to engage with Archie, and I did appreciate that. However, it left me wondering why the person I was initially assigned to wasn’t more involved in coaching me or working with my dog.
The trainer who was more hands-on said they would send me everything we covered along with a training plan and to keep them updated on Archie’s vet appointment, which I did. I emailed them that the only restrictions were jumping, running, and weight bearing on his shoulder. I also asked for more detail on the skills we practiced. The behaviorist explained why those skills were chosen, which I appreciated, but it still didn’t amount to a clear step-by-step plan or long-term strategy/goal. I followed up again with specific questions on timing and what to work on, but never received that level of detail.
Ultimately, it wasn’t the right fit. The service may fit well for others but even with assistance, I paid more than I have elsewhere that offered more hands-on coaching. At $150 consult / $150 per lesson, I hoped for more direct teaching and a structured plan; covering 3 introductory skills felt light for the price and didn’t fully align with my expectations.

We LOVE it here! Every Dog is positive reinforcement based (10/10!) and has the best trainers and training assistants. My dog has a lot to say during class and they were so patient with her every time. Eric taught our 6 week class and made it so welcoming and fun. I really love Every Dogs ability to meet each dog where they are and how they adjust to each dogs specific needs, even in a group class. As an owner with a pretty reactive dog, it felt so safe bringing her to place I knew her extra needs would be met! We will definitely be coming back 🙂

Frequently Asked Questions About Pet Trainers in Austin
What types of training methods do pet trainers in Austin typically use?
Pet trainers in Austin employ a variety of training methods, including positive reinforcement, which focuses on rewarding desired behaviors. Some trainers may use balanced training, incorporating both positive and negative reinforcement, although this is becoming less common. It’s important to research a trainer’s philosophy to ensure it aligns with your beliefs regarding animal welfare and your pet’s temperament. Fear-free training is also gaining popularity.
How much do pet training services generally cost in Austin?
The cost of pet training in Austin varies widely depending on the type of training, the trainer’s experience, and the length of the program. Group classes are usually the most affordable option, while private lessons are typically more expensive. You might encounter fees for in-home training, board and train programs, or specialized training like behavior modification for aggression. Always obtain a detailed price list upfront.
What qualifications or certifications should I look for in a pet trainer?
While there’s no mandatory licensing for pet trainers in Texas, certain certifications can indicate a trainer’s commitment to professionalism and ethical practices. Look for trainers certified by organizations like the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT), the Karen Pryor Academy, or the Academy for Dog Trainers. Experience and positive client testimonials are also valuable indicators of a trainer’s competence.
What is the difference between group classes and private lessons?
Group classes offer a more affordable option for socialization and basic obedience. They allow your pet to interact with other dogs and learn alongside peers. Private lessons, however, provide personalized attention and allow the trainer to address specific behavioral issues or training goals tailored to your pet's individual needs. Choosing depends on your budget and the complexity of your pet's training needs.
How can I tell if a trainer uses humane and ethical training practices?
Signs of a humane and ethical trainer include a focus on positive reinforcement, avoidance of punishment or intimidation, and a willingness to explain their methods. Be wary of trainers who advocate for harsh corrections or physical force. Ask questions about their approach and observe their interactions with the dogs in their care. A responsible trainer prioritizes the animal's well-being and emotional state.
Should I consider a "board and train" program?
A board and train program involves sending your pet to a training facility for a period of time, where they receive intensive training. This can be beneficial for dogs with severe behavioral issues or for owners who lack the time to dedicate to consistent training. However, it’s crucial to research the facility thoroughly and ensure they use ethical training methods and provide a stimulating environment. It's also good to inquire about communication policies.
What should I expect during an initial consultation with a pet trainer?
During an initial consultation, the trainer should ask questions about your pet's history, behavior, and your training goals. They should also observe your pet’s behavior and discuss their approach to training. This is an opportunity for you to assess the trainer’s communication style, experience, and compatibility with your pet’s personality. Don't hesitate to ask detailed questions about their methods.
How much time and effort will I need to dedicate to training?
Even with professional training, consistent effort from the owner is essential for long-term success. You'll need to reinforce the commands and behaviors learned during training sessions. The amount of time you need to dedicate varies depending on the complexity of the training and your pet's learning pace. Regular practice and positive reinforcement are vital for solidifying results.
What types of behavioral issues can pet trainers help with?
Pet trainers can address a wide range of behavioral issues, including excessive barking, jumping, leash pulling, separation anxiety, aggression towards other dogs or people, and destructive chewing. While some issues may require the involvement of a veterinary behaviorist, a skilled trainer can often make significant progress with behavioral modification techniques and consistent training.
How can I ensure my pet is a good fit for a particular training program?
Consider your pet’s temperament and energy level when choosing a training program. Some programs are better suited for high-energy dogs, while others cater to more timid or reactive pets. Talk to the trainer about your pet’s specific needs and challenges to ensure the program is a good fit. A trial class or brief consultation may help determine suitability.
