We chose Reese’s for our 6 mo Old English Sheepdog’s first groom. We had tried another groomer in the area for a “puppy cut” at 5 months and it went very poorly for a number of reasons. Because of that, we were nervous about making his first real grooming experience good so he can get comfortable with what will be a regular occurrence for him. We had heard from others that he may be more comfortable with a mobile groomer.
Wow did Reese’s surprise us in the best way. Trisha didn’t bat an eye and was an absolute magician with our pup, Hank. She was able to get through the whole multi-hour groom with Hank and clearly made him feel very comfortable the whole time. She texted us throughout the process, confirming what we wanted to do with a couple of mats that he had formed, and sending progress pictures along the way.
10/10 would recommend Reese’s and Trisha for your pup, especially if it’s a first groom!

Ashleigh is amazing! Cooper is a ~ 2 year old Australian Shepherd that sheds and sheds and sheds. It had been about 2 months and we’re not very proactive about keeping him brushed. There’s a before pic from day care and the pics from Reese’s. Reese’s is pricey but it’s 100% worth it. Highly recommended!

We love the convenience of having a mobile groomer come to our house, and we always know we’ll get the best service and care from Reese’s!
We trusted them with our previous dog before she passed, and just had our new pup’s first grooming session with them. Every groomer we’ve worked with has been very caring and patient with our pups, and it’s great that they send updates and photos throughout the process. Highly recommend!

We LOVE Reese’s Luxury Mobile Grooming! Our groomer, Jonas, takes wonderful care of our dog, Sunny. Sunny has previously been afraid of the hairdryer at other places, but never during her time with Jonas. We also receive adorable pictures throughout the process – which only takes 1.5 hours for our 17lb dog. Jonas has also informed me of some skin issues I didn’t even notice as an owner. On top of everything, they come to your home and park outside in their own self sufficient van. I would highly recommend Reese’s Luxury Mobile Grooming.

We have been using Reese’s Mobile Grooming (Emma) just over a year and highly recommend their services. Emma is always on time and takes good care of our cat, Bella. She always asks if we have any concerns and Bella is never stressed. Bella has long, very thick hair and she looks just beautiful when she’s finished. Thank you for taking such good care of my girl!

10/10 and 5 stars for Reese’s! Truly a luxury experience and they do not skimp. The groomers are kind and gentle with the doggies (even the nervous ones). Both my dogs are sparkling and I loved getting pictures of our babies during their treatments 🙂

Dr. Spellman is a great vet! He was very kind to my dog and very knowledgeable, he instantly was able to see what was going on with him. The office is very clean , and immediately after my dog came off the table they sanitized it for the next animals. The prices are really good, way better than what other offices charge, and the quality of service was excellent. I highly recommend taking your dog here and I will be definitely coming back for my dog’s annual checkup.

Camp Bow Wow Austin is the best! My pups have been so happy since they have been campers for a year now! They both get so excited to hear they are going to play with their friends! Every single one of the staff members are kind, attentive, and they very obviously all love my dogs as much as I do! Such a great place with great people and the very best pups!

My beloved puppies, Dolce and Beans, have never had a good experience at boarding—UNTIL Camp Bow Wow! Beans is usually very shy and nervous, so we took her to daycare a few times beforehand to help her acclimate. It made such a difference because now she absolutely loves this place! Being able to watch them on the cameras during the day and receiving pictures of them during their stay gave us so much peace of mind. If you have a shy or nervous pup, I highly recommend trying Camp Bow Wow. The staff is amazing, and we will definitely be returning!

Camp Bow Wow is always flexible when I need to board my very large Great Pyrenees even when it’s last minute. My dog doesn’t really enjoy playing with other dogs and they accommodate her for that. They also do a great job bathing and grooming her.
I would recommend them for anyone who needs a place to board their dog.

Camp Bow Wow has been wonderful. My husband passed away 2 months ago and Ruby had spent most days with him. We were both really lost. I enrolled Ruby into Camp Bow Wow and Ruby has the best canine buddies and is no longer lonely and her behavior has settled down. I love the special activities that they do ( added price) and the hours they operate.
I cannot say enough kind things about the staff. Even though it is 7 am in the morning they are cheerful and helpful. They learn your pup’s name quickly and provide updates as to how her day has been. Another added feature is the ability to watch your pup at daycare throughout the day.

Our Golden Girls, Izzy and Ivy, have been camping out at Camp Bow Wow, Austin North, since they were pups. They are now 11 years old and still love going to camp! They get very excited when they see me packing their camping gear (food, toys, treats, you know the drill), and once we move the gear to the truck even at their age they are out the door running to the truck too! When we see how happy they are as the staff greet them we know they will be well cared for and have a good time. The staff at Camp Bow Wow are absolutely wonderful. Not only do they love our girls, and the other pups at camp, they all take responsibility of their health and safety as number one importance. One of our girls had a stomach issue on this last visit. We were out of the country and not able to be notified. Staff immediately contacted our vet and discussed the symptoms with him. They followed the directions given them by the vet and kept her on a 24 hour watch to assure no other action was needed. As soon as we had Internet access we saw the message and called Camp Bow Wow. They first assured us that both our girls were fine and filled us in on what occured, what protocols they followed and why. There are so many reasons to love Camp Bow Wow and their staff ! ❤️

We use walk ATX for boarding and daycare for our two dogs (one big, one small), and I’m so happy we found this place. Our dogs always come home happy and tuckered out! The crew give daily photo updates, take the dogs on pack walks, and offer lots of upgrades (like baths & grooming, one-on-one enrichment time, as well as fun stuff like photoshoots, etc.) if you’re interested. Everyone on the staff has always been great, and we’ve had nothing but positive experiences.
I’m an anxious dog parent and I used to worry a ton about our pets when we left town but I feel really comfortable leaving them with Walk! ATX. We drive in from north Austin but dealing with the traffic is absolutely worth it for the peace of mind of knowing our dogs are happy and safe.

WalkATX is the BEST boarding facility in Austin by far. My fiancé and I have been using Walk since moving to Austin a few months ago, and I cannot say enough good things about them. We travel quite a bit, and the only place we will ever leave our dog Finley is with them!
Finley is a rescue dog who struggles with reactivity and stranger danger, and Walk has been AMAZING for improving his confidence and decreasing his reactivity- and this is only from boarding/daycare with them! We are definitely planning on utilizing their training services too.
They have some sort of magic power when it comes to their pack walks. Finley struggles with leash-reactivity and we thought that there was no way he would be able to successfully be on a leash with so many other dogs. To our absolute surprise, they were able to add Finley to their pack and even said that he had little to no reactivity.
We have also utilized their grooming services multiple times and they have been FANTASTIC!! Finley does not like strangers in general, but especially not when they are trying to touch his feet or are holding a blow dryer! They are SO patient with him and have blown us away with how well they are able to handle his fear in situations like those.
While Finley is boarded, they always have all kinds of super fun add-ons like picture days, special treats, cuddle time, etc! They provide so many photos, multiple daily updates, and are so quick to respond to any questions or requests. Finley has a BLAST there every time he goes, and he always comes home exhausted from all the play. Thank you WalkATX, Finley (and his parents) are forever grateful !!!!!

Our dog had the time of his life at daycare and the photos made our day! I love that they work on some important training while the dogs are in the yard, especially recall, which we loved to hear about. The report card they gave was really informative and they let us know what behaviors our pup needed to work on. We will definitely be back!

We have loved using Walk! ATX to help care for our pup when we are out of town! It is so convenient and the pup caretakers are awesome. We use a lockbox on the door so the caretakers can use a code to get our key out, and then lock back up when they are done. Every time your fur baby gets walked, the caretakers send pictures and an update on how the walk went. They even refill food, water, and give your pup medicine if needed! You can pay for different amounts of time for the walks, and they have other services as well like boarding which we haven’t used. Overall, I highly recommend using Walk! ATX.

I adore this place so much. I moved to Austin for work, and don’t know many people. I have to travel for work, so I needed help with taking care of my girl. She’s senior, and can be a little cranky at times. Lilly loves Walk! Everyone takes good care of her, and she literally runs to the door as soon as we walk up. This place is literally my dog’s favorite place on earth. The staff and management are honestly incredible and I can tell how much they LOVE my dog as their own. I had never put my dog (who is literally my BABY) into daycare before, so I was extremely nervous and paranoid. No matter how many times I called to get an update or check in, or repeat the same instructions over and over because I’m a helicopter dog mom, they never sounded annoyed over the phone. They were always extremely reassuring and so sweet. They take such good care of my baby. They also post soo many pictures everyday on the Facebook page so you can literally see your fur baby having the time of their life. This was my first experience with doggy daycare and I seriously could not have gotten more lucky with this place. I would personally recommend this place to any other obsessive, helicopter dog mom’s (or dad’s) lol. Btw they have such a cute outdoor play space with little kiddie pools and sprinklers for the dogs to play in. So cute

This is the best place in Austin for doggy day care and boarding. The people are super caring, loving, and enthusiastic, and it shows in all interactions. My dog goes to day care as often as possible. Sometimes I’ve boarded her, which usually causes her to be reluctant the next time we go for day care. Not at Pups and Pals! She is so excited every morning!
The daily schedule allows for group play and indoor rest. The staff evaluates the dogs’ personalities, size, and energy levels before putting them in a group. Playtime includes best friends, lots of cuddles and kisses, pools in the summer, and always playscapes. They go out anywhere between 6-8 times a day, with breaks in their air conditioned suites.
The building is super nice, very new, and the play areas have K9 grass that keeps their paws nice and clean. I especially like that it is hosed every night. BTW there’s a groomer onsite!
Just a heads up — it’s hard to see the marquis from the 1st street entrance. You really need to know what you’re looking for!
April and I give Pups and Paws 4 paws up!

Pups and Pals is the best facility. Management does a great job hiring the best staff – they all care so much about the dogs. The dogs are separated into groups by size and temperament. Groups are rotated in and out of the outdoor play yards to ensure they get adequate playtime and rest.
My dog really came out of her shell here. She found a best friend and definitely had her favorite staff members. We are so sad to have moved out of the area because Pups and Pals is such a great place! Thank you, South Park team, for taking care of my girl!

We love Pups and Pals!
The staff is amazing, and our dog absolutely loves coming here. He’s been nervous at other places, but this is the one spot where he feels totally at ease. He’s high energy, and the team handles him with genuine care, attention, and love. You can tell they’re carefully chosen and truly care about every pet.
One standout moment: while we were overseas, our dog got sick. A nightmare scenario! The team immediately took him to the vet, kept us updated the entire time, and went above and beyond to make sure he was okay. We were able to enjoy our trip knowing he was in great hands—and he recovered just fine. That kind of care is RARE.
Our only small gripe is that a bath was missed once or twice, likely due to scheduling or simple oversight—but they always owned it, apologized, and made it right.
Pups and Pals is truly a safe, loving haven for our pup when life or travel pulls us away. Thank you to the entire team!

This park offers beautiful trails that are ideal for walking, jogging, or simply enjoying nature. The paths are well-maintained and scenic, making it a peaceful spot for regular outdoor activity. Please keep in mind that there are a number of off-leash dogs. Additionally, there are occasional issues with pet waste not being picked up, which detracts from the overall cleanliness and enjoyment of the park.

Walnut Creek Metropolitan Park is a wonderful spot for anyone looking to get outdoors and enjoy a bit of nature without leaving the city. It’s one of those places where you can truly unwind, whether you’re walking, biking, or just soaking up the scenery.
The parking lot is well-designed and spacious, making it easy to find a spot early in the morning. However, it’s worth noting that it can get busier as the day goes on, especially after 9 am. Arriving earlier is a good idea if you want a stress-free start to your visit.
The trails are the park’s biggest highlight. There are well-maintained paths for both bikers and walkers, and they weave through some of the prettiest parts of the park. Bikers will love the variety in the trails, while walkers can enjoy a more relaxed pace with plenty of shady spots and scenic views.
The creek access is another standout feature. Walking in the creek is a fun and refreshing activity, especially when the weather is warm. It adds a sense of adventure to your visit and is great for kids and adults alike. The natural beauty of the park, with its tall trees and open spaces, makes the whole experience feel peaceful and rejuvenating.
Walnut Creek Metropolitan Park is one of Austin’s gems, offering a perfect mix of nature and convenience. Whether you’re out for a hike, a bike ride, or just looking for a calm place to relax, it’s a place that won’t disappoint. Just plan to arrive early if you want to avoid the rush!

We went to the park to eat breakfast and the go for a walk. We sat at the picnic tables near the park. It was really peaceful. We then went for a walk on the paved trail. It was pretty busy when we went so it was a little difficult to find parking. There were lots of people walking, riding bikes and dogs on/off leash. The park is really big so we will definitely be going back to explore more areas.

Came here for mountain biking. The trails are great, and there is also a natural pump track. It would have made for a great ride, but beware, there is no dog leash law at this park. Most dogs are behaved, but people are out there with a pack of 2 to 3 dogs each, so it gets congested, especially the first 3 to 4 miles.

We always feel confident leaving them in such good hands.

I love the kitchen + spa concept! You can tell the owners are dog people as soon as you walk in! We took Milan for grooming, he is normally very anxious walking in but he felt super comfortable you could tell! He looks so beautiful and the pawdicure was adorable will be back soon for more treats!

I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! My mini schnauzer is a very anxious pup, and Iishha went above and beyond to make sure he felt comfortable. She took her time, gave him extra TLC, and truly made his first visit a positive one.
Not only did she do a beautiful job with the grooming itself, but she also cared so much about his comfort and well-being. It was such a relief to see how well they take care of pets here.
Overall, an excellent grooming experience—we’ll definitely be back!

I’ve been using their dog walking service for over 2 years and I’m so happy! We’ve had the same 3 walkers so they get to know our dog really well. From their daily messages and pictures I can tell they really love our dog and that she loves them right back! It gives us such peace of mind to know that our dog is being loved and well cared for in addition to our home being respected while we are away. I recommend this service to everyone in need!

After finding Game Time Dog Services 6 years ago when we got our puppy we’ve continued to love this company so much as she grows up! Getting picture updates while I’m at work away from her is the highlight of my day whenever we use dog walking services. Now that I work from home we use this less but they have also been amazing for overnight care when I’m traveling. It’s such a relief to know your pet is in good hands whether it’s for an hour or a week. It’s like leaving them with a dog-loving family member! I highly recommend GTDS and will be a loyal client as long as we’re in ATX 🙂

Game Time Dog Services have been amazing for my growing family!
When my wife got pregnant, I knew that our schedule would become pretty crazy when our baby arrived. And, it was important to me that we didn’t neglect our fur baby (Ellie) and made sure she was still getting her walks and exercise. So I hired Game Time Dog Services in our third trimester so that Ellie could get acclimated to the dog walker. Amy worked diligently to provide us with someone (Greg) who was a good fit for our schedule and for Ellie’s temperament. Before every walk, Greg would text me when he was on the way and Ellie became so excited to see him.
The Game Time Dog Services app and online portal also make it super easy to contact them with questions, cancellations, or updates.
I would highly recommend Game Time Dog Services to any expecting parents who have a dog. It’s one small way that you can give some TLC to your pups while you’re adjusting to parental life.

Amy and her team have been so helpful with care for our older Rhodesian Ridgeback. On my daughter’s wedding day they checked in on her twice & provided a walk, belly rubs, food, meds, etc. It was such a special day for our family and we were able to relax & enjoy it knowing that she was receiving the best care from Game Time. We loved receiving the photos from each visit too. I highly recommend Amy and The Game Time Team!

Hi Amy, Katie, Becky and Game Time Friends,
We just wanted to say thanks for always taking such great care of Benny. We’ve been very satisfied clients for over 7 years. We had neighbors over yesterday who recently noticed how sweet y’all had been while walking Benny. My neighbor noticed how slow Benny was moving, and y’all were just so patient and kind with him. It made us really happy to hear that! He’s a senior citizen so his energy is up and down these days. Keep up the great work!

We started using Game Time Dog Services last year, and I have nothing but good things to say. We have two medium sized dogs that have quite a lot of energy. With my wife and I both working downtown full-time, they’re often inside for long periods of time during the week. Game Time was able to service our area, and provide great and consistent visits allowing them to get walks, belly rubs, and potty breaks throughout the week.
Game Time offers several services for your pooches, provides a way to check and change your scheduled walks/etc, and they’re extremely flexible and responsive in general… they even helped us find a home for one of our Foster puppies by posting details on their site and social media to get the word out.
They truly are dog lovers, and will give your pups the love and care you do, and now our dogs have new friends that come and visit them every week!

Zoom Room Dog Training provides a fantastic environment for puppies and dogs to learn and socialize. The trainers are clearly knowledgeable and passionate about their work, offering a wealth of valuable guidance to owners. It’s a great place to build a solid foundation of obedience and address common behavioral issues, fostering a stronger bond between owner and pet.
I’ve observed consistent praise for their structured classes, emphasizing the benefits of group settings for distraction training and overall development. Many pet parents find the positive reinforcement techniques highly effective and appreciate the ongoing support provided. The emphasis on early socialization is also a major plus for young dogs.

We love Zoom Room! All of the trainers are so nice and helpful with our boy Sunny! Sunny started in puppy preschool and is now in the Puppy + class and he is so excited to go every time. He is learning so much and consistently is better every week! I would definitely recommend Zoom Room to anyone getting a new pup.

We’ve had a great experience at Zoom Room! Not only has Ember had an opportunity to socialize with other puppies, but we’ve also received great training guidance and tips. While we’ve done and continue to do a lot of training at home, nothing beats the added benefit of training in a group setting with additional distractions to ensure the commands are fully learned. We can’t wait until Ember is old enough to start agility training!

My 4 year old rescue dog joined our family with no training, and didn’t even know how to sit. Ollie worked with Waylon and he’s has learned so much in just 4 lessons and is much more confident. We just attended our first Calm Down class and we’re super impressed with the setup of the class to keep all of the dogs safe (especially those that get anxious around other pups) while also strategically challenging them and celebrating their successes. I’m looking forward to doing more training with Waylon at Zoom Room and watching his grow.

My partner and I have thoroughly enjoyed the Zoom Room experience we’ve had with our dog, Lacy. Not only has she learned a lot in the group classes, but we’ve been able to stay on the same page with our training tactics using the phenomenal advice from the amazing trainers at Zoom Room. From the moment we had our orientation, we knew the employees had a passion for what they do & would be easy to work with on our training. Each class has built on the previous one, even if we weren’t with the same trainer. We’ve learned many things that will help us be great dog owners, and we’ve always been encouraged for our efforts outside of class too. All in all, there is nothing negative to say about the Zoom Room location off Anderson Lane. We will gladly recommend their services to anyone looking for quality training in a supportive environment.

We’ve been taking our now two year old dog to zoom room since he was fully vaccinated as a puppy and we love it here.
There trainers are calm, they listen and make great suggestions, and I love the positivity training method they use.
They definitely let dogs be dogs, teach you to work with the behaviors that dogs will inherently have, and really train you so you can train your dog.
I also love that they are so engaged with the dogs, they pay attention to what they’re doing well either or struggling with and help you adjust your training to work with where your dog is at.
We love zoom room, and will definitely keep coming. The training is sustainable and we look forward to the lessons every week.

My neighbor told me to check Zoomroom for my puppy’s early socialization. It was a great idea to enroll the puppy preschool. Since my pup was at her foster with her siblings and other dogs before I adopted her, I thought she is properly socialized in her early age, but I was wrong. She is afraid other pups in the class which was a shock to me. She is learning to be brave in her classes. I highly recommend anyone who is adopting a puppy. All trainners have been very helpful and always give good explanations and professional tips. Glad my neighbor recommend me this place.

My puppy Max and I have been attending puppy classes over the last 60 days. I really appreciate the small class size and the focus we get from the staff. I’d recommend Zoom Room to others and plan to continue training Max with them as he matures.

Zookeeper Exotics appears to be a valued resource for reptile enthusiasts in Central Texas. They offer a crucial service, acting as one of the few dedicated reptile shops in the area. The store seems to provide a selection of reptiles, alongside associated food and supplies, catering to a specific niche audience seeking exotic pets.
While a dedicated space for reptile care and purchase is beneficial, it is vital to prioritize the animal’s health and welfare. Thorough investigation into the origins and conditions of any reptile before acquisition is strongly recommended for prospective owners. Transparency and clear information regarding animal care are essential for a responsible establishment like this.

I rarely ever leave bad reviews but this needed to be shared. I got my Ball Python here as a hatchling even a couple months old. She was an amazing snake and my first but recently passed from IBD and just tore me apart when I had to put her down. She was almost two years old. It broke my heart the conditions were not the best but also not the worst however I didn’t get much info on my ball python just she was a female and she had just came in with a few of her siblings. Either mom or dad had it or she was housed in an infected or not so sterile environment, this condition is not curable and the virus is highly contagious to other reptiles that are mainly boas and BPs. Really sad that she was sick and I had to find out the hard way. I got really attached to her since she was so young and sweet, she was gorgeous. I miss her terribly. Please do your research before just getting a snake or any pet or animal. Do better zookeeper exotics please. pic of when I got her and the second one is the day I had to put her down.

Zookeeper is the best, and one of the only reptile pet shops in Central Texas. I’ve been coming here for decades at different locations and they are the best place to go for any sort of reptile, amphibian, spider, or arachnid needs. They also have birds, and sometimes other more exotic mammals. They have an extensive supply of feeder, insects and rodents, both living and frozen. And they have a large selection of terrarium plants, including orchids.

I got a tarantula here and they helped me put the entire enclosure together. I also come here to get Dubai crickets, mealworms, and other items for my bearded dragon. Every time I come in, they are extremely kind and helpful and I love coming here for my reptile needs. You definitely should check this place out if you haven’t been!

Stopped in with some friends today! You can tell the animals are well taken care of. The staff genuinely know what they’re doing and it reflects in the animals. They’re healthy weights with enough space and NO reptile grass, not to mention having a heat lamp on one side and a shaded area on the other. Indicative of real knowledge from staff. 🙂

I’ve been buying dubia roaches for my gecko from this store for a while. There were always some beetles mixed in, which wasn’t ideal since my gecko doesn’t eat them, but they were slow and easy enough to pick out.
However, during my last purchase, I unknowingly brought home a young American roach(or maybe it’s a Red runner I am not sure) hidden among the dubias. I only realized it this week, 2-3 months later, because it had grown so large it could no longer hide. Unlike beetles, it runs extremely fast, and it was very stressful for me to deal with. I specifically buy dubia because they don’t infest homes like regular roaches, so this was the exact problem I was trying to avoid. I still don’t know how to handle this one, can I return it to the store? So crazy.
The beetles and now a regular cockroach mixed in with the feeders is too much. I gave 2 stars because every employee I’ve met here has been kind and helpful, but I believe there are hygiene and quality control issues with how the feeders are handled. Because of this, I am sad that I won’t be purchasing feeders from this store again.

Frequently Asked Questions about Pets in Austin
What are Austin’s leash laws?
Austin has fairly strict leash laws. Generally, all dogs must be on a leash no longer than six feet when off your property. There are designated off-leash areas, but these are limited. Violations can result in fines and warnings. It’s important to consult the city ordinances for precise details.
Are there designated off-leash dog parks in Austin?
Yes, Austin has several designated off-leash dog parks. Popular choices include Zilker Park's off-leash area, Red Bud Isle, and Emma Long Metropolitan Park. These parks provide a safe and supervised environment for dogs to socialize and exercise without a leash. Always check park rules and be mindful of other park visitors and their pets.
What are the requirements for pet registration in Austin?
While Austin doesn't have mandatory pet registration, it is strongly encouraged. Registering your pet with the city allows them to be easily identified if they are lost. The Austin Animal Center handles pet registration and provides various services, including microchipping. Microchipping significantly increases the chance of reuniting with a lost pet.
What are the rules regarding pets in rental properties?
Rules regarding pets in rental properties are determined by the individual landlord or property management company. Many rental agreements have restrictions on the size, breed, or number of pets allowed. Some landlords may require a pet deposit or monthly pet rent. Carefully review your lease agreement before bringing a pet onto the property.
What vaccinations are required for pets in Austin?
Austin requires that all pets receive certain vaccinations to protect public health. Core vaccinations include rabies, distemper, parvovirus, and adenovirus. Local ordinances may also require other vaccinations, depending on the type of pet and its age. Regular veterinary checkups and vaccinations are essential for maintaining your pet's health.
What should I do if my pet gets lost in Austin?
If your pet gets lost, immediately report them to the Austin Animal Center and local animal shelters. Post "lost pet" notices on social media and online platforms. Include a clear description of your pet, their location where last seen, and your contact information. A microchip significantly improves the chance of reuniting with your pet.
Are there breed-specific restrictions in Austin?
Austin currently does not have strict breed-specific legislation. However, rental properties or homeowner's associations may have their own restrictions on certain dog breeds. Always verify any breed restrictions before bringing a pet onto a property. Check with the property owner for clarification.
How do I handle a pet that is aggressive towards others?
If your pet exhibits aggressive behavior, it's crucial to address the issue with the help of a qualified veterinarian or certified dog trainer. Identify the underlying causes of the aggression and implement a behavior modification plan. Always keep your pet on a leash in public areas and avoid situations that trigger aggressive responses.
What are the local ordinances regarding animal cruelty?
Austin has strict animal cruelty laws that protect animals from harm. Animal cruelty encompasses a wide range of actions, including neglect, abandonment, and physical abuse. Violations can result in significant fines, jail time, and other penalties. Report suspected cases of animal cruelty to the Austin Animal Center.
Are there resources available for low-cost pet care in Austin?
Yes, several organizations provide low-cost pet care services in Austin. These services may include vaccinations, spay/neuter surgeries, and wellness exams. Contact the Austin Animal Center or search online for local animal welfare organizations to access these valuable resources.
