Wonderful office full of very nice staff! My doctor, Dr. Christopher Seeker was truly great. I appreciated how he introduced himself to me and the time and attention he took to hear me out, answer my questions, and provide a path forward. He thoroughly explained his thoughts and findings, and was very positive toward me. Our nurse was just as caring! She was very attentive and took notes while still being very engaging with me. I was very happy with my visit, and would highly recommend

Casey is the BEST. She is always thorough, friendly, answers questions and she is very easy to talk to. She always makes me feel comfortable. I honestly feel like I’m visiting a friend. I’ve been a patient of Dr Seeker’s and Casey for 21 years. Great practice. The BEST.

I switched to AAOBGYN after not really feeling comfortable at my old OB after having my first baby. The office is super busy BUT use their free valet parking and you’ll be fine. I saw Dr Gutierrez and she was amazing, she made me look forward to going back to see her! Highly recommend. I also wish I could remember the nurse’s name who helped me because she was amazing too!

I feel comfortable as if I’m talking to my friends. I feel heard as if I am a part of their family. I recommend this clinic to any one I can. Please continue being great!

I cannot express enough gratitude for the incredible care I received from Dr. Meena Aserlind. She followed me closely throughout my high-risk pregnancy, saw me weekly, and ultimately saved both my life and my baby’s life through an emergency C-section. Her forward-thinking, passionate care and compassionate bedside manner are unmatched, and I will forever be thankful for her.
While I was in antepartum, Dr. Blake Seeker also provided outstanding care. She was knowledgeable, kind, and treated me like a human being during an incredibly difficult time. She assisted in my emergency C-section, and I am so grateful to her for helping save both me and my baby.
Yes, this practice may have long wait times, but it’s for a good reason: the doctors truly take time with every patient. I would choose this team a million times over for this pregnancy and all future pregnancies. My gratitude for this team is beyond words.

I saw Katie Sayger, PA-C for my annual women’s checkup and she was absolutely amazing. She made me feel so comfortable, took her time with me, and never made me feel rushed. She truly listened, answered all my questions with patience, and genuinely cared about what I had to say. That kind of one-on-one attention is rare, and it made such a difference. I’m so glad I got to see her and would highly recommend her!

It may have been the best consultation with a nurse and the PA I have ever had. I have been a patient since 1998 with Dr. Seeker when I was pregnant with my first child. I cannot express the extra time, bedside manner and compassion I received. If I could give Katie 10 stars on the review I would! She made me feel so much better and really cared for.

I can tell Dr. Thoppil & his staff are very capable and I’m sure he is great with patients that are a fit for this practice. He seems like a nice enough guy. I really wanted to like River Place OBGYN because it’s close to my home, but unfortunately, my experience with Dr. Thoppil was disappointing. The visits felt rushed, and the environment was uncomfortable from the start. My confirmation appointment didn’t even feel special. It just felt….transactional.
I didn’t feel like I received the attention or care I was hoping for. When the doctor explained things, it was very brief and felt more like checking a box than truly engaging with my concerns. I left appointments feeling rushed, unheard and unsure. Maybe there’s just so many patients and I can understand that.
Ultimately, I decided to switch to another provider where I received more thorough care, had my questions answered without being rushed, and felt like a person…not just a number. When I got my ultra sound done at the other place, they had it displayed on a large monitor and every little thing was explained to me in detail including the heart rate of my baby, what to expect during every visit, why we were performing certain tests and I felt way more at ease.
Sadly, this place felt more transactional and business-focused than genuinely patient-centered. My first visit wasn’t the best and I gave it another shot and it was even more disappointing the second time.

I recently began seeing Dr. Thoppil and can confidently say he is the best healthcare provider I’ve ever had! He genuinely cares about his patients, offers appointment times that accommodate working professionals, responds promptly, and has an exceptional bedside manner. I couldn’t recommend him more highly and look forward to continuing under his care as my OB/GYN.

I consider myself so very lucky to be one of Dr. Thoppil’s patients again! He has the best bedside manner, goes above and beyond with the testing that he recommends, and makes appointments so quick & easy with bloodwork in house, providing a one stop shop experience that the majority of doctors do not provide. 12/10!

River Place OB/GYN seems to have a mixed reputation. Several patients praise Dr. Thoppil, highlighting his knowledge and willingness to address concerns. The team’s professionalism and support during difficult situations, such as managing medical complications, appear to be a significant strength, leaving patients feeling reassured and cared for. It’s valuable to find a provider who offers attentive and comprehensive care.
However, other experiences indicate a potential lack of clarity regarding billing practices. A patient encountered an unexpected bill for a video consultation of test results, and the office was unwilling to reverse the charge despite acknowledging the miscommunication. This suggests a need for the practice to ensure transparent financial policies and prioritize patient communicationto avoid future misunderstandings.

I rarely take the time to write reviews but I cannot speak more highly about Dr. Thoppil and his extremely professional team. I’ve seen a few reviews that are so far from the truth. I recently had a mmc found at 11 weeks which came with a lot of anxiety. Dr. Thoppil was a huge help for me afterwards… He’s a wealth of knowledge which is something that I really needed, as someone that needs answers and facts. He has never made me feel rushed and is always willing to see you quickly if you need to come in. My husband and I feel extremely lucky and in GREAT hands as we navigate trying to start a family again. Honorable mention – Dana (nurse practitioner) is amazing as well.

I rarely leave negative reviews but considering what just happened, I want to caution other ladies before using this office. During my wellness visit, which is covered 100%, my blood was taken for testing. When the results came in, the office called saying the NP wanted to discuss my results and asked if a particular time worked for me. I thought she was going to call and tell me the results. Turned out, she video-conferences me. And couple weeks later, I got a bill. I’ve never had a doctor bill my insurance for a phone conservation of my results. I called this office and shared my experience and felt that the office was not clear that this would be considered a “visit” and therefore billable to insurance. If I knew that, I would not have had the conversation, and instead would have just asked for the results on paper. Nothing in the conversation was gained that I couldn’t research myself. I called the office to see if they would reverse the charge but they would not, even after acknowledging that they should clarify when something is chargeable BEFORE the conversation. Even though it was their error, they are not taking responsibility for it. Hence this review. I don’t think their service is anything special and this experience has definitely lost me as a patient. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Run!!
I had a disappointing experience at this clinic and would caution others to consider their options carefully. My referring doctor sent over specific orders for an exam, but Dr. Shepherd did not review them prior to the appointment. When I reminded her, the review was rushed and incomplete. Unfortunately, key information was missed, and when I pointed this out, she dismissed it with “that should be good enough” rather than correcting the oversight.
Payment was also an issue. I was required to pay $200 upfront, which I understood would be submitted to my insurance. The front desk staff led me to believe they would submit and if approved, I would be reimbursed. However, after following up, I was told by billing that they do not submit claims for this exam and that the $200 is a flat, non-negotiable fee regardless of insurance coverage. The billing department was curt and unhelpful when I tried to get clarification. Quite frankly the billing supervisor was passive aggressive and unprofessional.
Overall, I felt the clinic was poorly managed, and the care lacked thoroughness and empathy. I would not feel comfortable trusting them with anything as important as pregnancy or serious medical care.
I have since transferred to Violet Crown and had a much more professional and supportive experience there.

Well I’m not sure why they scheduled my In-Network blood work as doctor’s appointment. I wasn’t even supposed to see the doctor, and it would have cost me a $50 copay instead of $0. The funniest part was that after waiting for an hour and a month for this blood work, they realized that they couldn’t do it at this clinic, and I had to drive to another lab. I also really wish this $250 DNA test they are promoting and selling at the front desk had actual scientific support behind it.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Thoppil and his team! From my very first appointment 1.5 years ago, he took the time to truly listen and address every concern I had as a new patient around my irregular periods. He ordered all kinds of bloodwork, checked every hormone, and even did ultrasounds (above and beyond your standard annual exam). He untimely identified and guided me through a plan for the removal of an ovarian cyst with skill and compassion (knowing family’s ovarian cancer history); always making sure I understood my options and felt comfortable with my care. His thoroughness and dedication to my reproductive health ultimately helped me conceive, unexpectedly, my beautiful, healthy baby boy.
When it came time to deliver my first child, Dr. Thoppil was not only incredibly professional but also calm, reassuring, and genuinely caring with all of my first time mom fears and questions (there were A LOT). My partner adored his professional, yet easygoing humor! We always felt like we were in the best hands possible. He has a gift for combining medical expertise with kindness, and I am so grateful to had him by my side through such important moment in my life.
Thank you, River Place OB/GYN, for being the reason I’m holding my son today and for treating me like more than just a patient.

Dr. Thoppil and Staff are truly amazing. Very consistent and true to care. I am and have one of the highest cases of being high risk higher than high when I was caring during my Pregnancy. Dr Thoppil was very keen to detail with my prior medical history and previous pregnancies and deliveries. He stresses and inform so much that African American Women’s Health are not taken seriously and not only that we have higher risk facing certain complications and health conditions. Dr Thoppil was there during the start of my pregnancy and he kept a close eye on me monitoring me on a weekly basis. The nurse and staff are all Awesome even Dr Thoppil is not around they have also provided me with excellent care! For those who have high risk health conditions and you are looking for a Team who cares and caters to every need. Riverplace OB is the place to go! I was able to have a Beau healthy baby boy

He got my sense of humor and played along with me but also was very professional and came up with a solution that may help with my concerns. It’s a long but scenic drive from Buda, Tx but it’s worth it. I’d recommend Dr. Thoppil to anyone willing to take the drive!

I had an amazing and incredible experience with Dr Schneider, she made me feel 100% comfortable and valid in my concerns especially as that was my 1st visit with her. It didn’t feel like a doctor’s visit where the doctor is judging you or where you feel like the doctor is not taking your concerns seriously. After I expressed my concerns she made sure to book me for labs, and an exam quickly. I would give her a 5 star and will be booking with her again moving forward.
Couple weeks later I met with Chris Hart due to my doctor’s last minute unavailability which is understandable but I had a totally different experience with her. Her demeanor seemed like if my husband and I were taking up her time. She was not that friendly, we would ask questions and her answers felt dismissive, she looked bored talking to us, she kept rubbing her eyes like if she was sleepy. The Dr visit with her was definitely one of those that make you feel like you never want to go to the drs again. She is definitely not somebody I would ever want to see again even if my Dr was unavailable.

I went in for my annual exam and to have my hormones checked, and I left feeling completely dismissed. When I raised concerns about my hormones, the doctor brushed me off instead of listening or exploring my symptoms. It felt like stepping back into the 1980s when women’s voices weren’t taken seriously in medical settings. I expected to be treated with respect and to have my concerns addressed, but that didn’t happen here. Very disappointed and won’t be returning.

At my first appointment with a provider in this office, I tried to discuss several health concerns/symptoms I was experiencing and the provider told me everything I was concerned about was normal. They were rushing to end the appointment after my exam, and it was difficult to get them to really listen to my concerns. I was told to take a testosterone supplement even though they did not know my current testosterone levels and they did not suggest lab work or other testing. I was also told to go to a weight loss clinic in Austin. After going to another medical provider about the same issues, they diagnosed me with a medical condition directly related to the services provided at an OBGYN, and one that directly impacted my weight. I do not suggest going here, and if you do, I hope you receive better care than I did.
Edit to their response: I tried to call them two or three times to discuss these issues and no one ever answered the phone. This is a similar issue that other reviewers mentioned. I guarantee the provider I saw was not there to provide me with the finest care. I was dismissed and rushed in the appointment. Please do not waste your time here.

Horrible horrible experience with Karla at the front desk. I’ve never left a review before, but this is the rudest woman I have ever had to speak to. Please get someone else taking the medical questions phone line and FIRE HER ASAP. Called with a concern and she answered with an attitude, extremely judgemental, unhelpful advice. Love my doctor I’ve been seeing here for years, but will be looking for a new practice after this experience with Karla. Just like all the other reviews….STAY AWAY.

I was nervous to find a new doctor after moving and didn’t see all the negative reviews on yelp/ some on here until the day before my appointment so that made me more nervous. But I had a great experience from start to finish and was in and out within 30 minutes (which I loved and didn’t feel rushed at all). I saw Dr. Sessions and will continue to come back to see her. I have nothing but good things to say!

This practice is a gem. They’re very warm, caring, and thorough. I primarily see Dr. DiSarro, who is excellent, and she speaks highly of all of the docs in the practice. Dr. Elliott G. And his nurse practitioner Tieryn B. Are absolutely wonderful. I feel confident in them and their medical decisions for me and our growing baby. I look forward to continuing to work with them and women’s health domain.
Also, their front desk is kind, helpful, knowledgeable, and the example of what customer service should be. Especially Miss May, who always takes care of us and makes the process easy, all while making us feel so welcome. The other young ladies at the front were also kind and helpful, we just specifically worked with May.
Thank you women’s health domain for being our health care providers for one of the biggest chapters of our life. ♥️♥️♥️

Dr. Boswell was very kind and actually listened to what was going on with me. She also took the time to explain what was going on based on my clinical presentation, explained options for treatment and the “why” behind those options. It made the experience feel collaborative, thorough, and intentional. I’ve been trying to figure out what was wrong with me for the last few months. And even though we don’t have a definitive answer yet, I’ve gotten better care in one clinic visit with her than I have with all interactions with my previous OBGYN. The front receptionists and the atmosphere of the clinic was also welcoming and friendly.

My interactions with the one gal who checked me in was so off putting, I cancelled my appointment on the spot, and asked for a proof of refund for my copay.
Dr. Boswell is an exceptional doctor. It was the biggest reason I ignored the other reviews discussing their front desk experiences. I was really excited to be her patient again. But I can’t imagine being pregnant and feeling so unwelcome and uncomfortable walking into that office.
To Dr. Boswell – I would have loved to show you a picture of our thriving soon to be 3 year old who just started preschool. To tell you in-person how grateful I am to you, now that the postpartum haze is gone. But nonetheless, thank you for being so collaborative, supportive, and such a wonderful OB.
I’ve decided to seek another OB. But if you can navigate the front desk experience, I encourage you to consider this practice.

I have so much appreciation for Dr. Elliot Groff and the entire Women’s Health Domain staff. After calling 5 different OBGYN offices for a same day appointment, I was able to schedule an appointment with Dr. Groff online. The scheduling system was user friendly and super easy to navigate.
As many women do, I had some reservations about meeting with a male doctor. But I can assure you that Dr. Groff is super professional, friendly, and extremely informative. I felt heard, and supported throughout my appointments. He helped me navigate my situation. With his guidance, I was able to receive treatment at St. David’s North Austin Medical Center (shout out to them too!) and had follow up lab testing at Women’s Health Domain.
After I was cleared from my situation, I received an IUD. Before the procedure, Dr. Groff, again, was super informative and let me know about all my birth control options – the pros and cons, etc. Knowing that many people have had physically painful experiences with IUD insertion, I was a bit nervous. but having such a positive experience beforehand, I knew I was going to be fine in the care of Dr. Groff and his team. I received pain management (I believe its a paracervical block – sorry, i don’t remember the exact name). With the pain management i had a pain free IUD insertion! I barely felt a thing
Again, thank you SO much to Dr.Groff and the entire team! I wish I had their names but big thank you to the sonographer, phlebotomist, and the two receptionists! I feel so grateful to have found this office.

Sharing this months later because it still affects me. I saw Dr. Chapman for pain in my uterus for what I believe was from my IUD. I went in wanting to get it checked to ensure proper placement. When I explained my symptoms, she wrote them off as bloating. No it wasn’t, I know the difference and this was not normal. At this time I was considering getting my IUD taken out anyway but still wanted to ensure everything was ok before I made that decision. I made the mistake of sharing this because she said rather than do an ultrasound, she can just take it out right now. I was very unsure because it seemed scary and painful. I wasn’t mentally prepared to do it but felt pressured by Dr. Chapman to make a decision quickly. I decided to do it. While it didn’t end up being painful, I felt incredibly violated, and uncomfortable with my experience. Additionally, after taking out the IUD, she said sarcastically ‘if you no longer feel pain, then we’ll know it’s the IUD’. Again, writing off my symptoms/experience. She had absolutely no bedside manners for an experience that I believe many other women would want to be made to feel comfortable in. I legit cried in the bathroom right after. This all came after I had been waiting in the exam room for a while and overheard her talking to a coworker about how she had over 5 patients to see in less than 10 mins, so I already knew I wasn’t going to get the level of service I was seeking. I am disappointed because she is a highly rated Dr. on Google, so I hope this was a one off experience but I felt inclined to share with others.

Outstanding experience at Women’s Health Domain. Dr Handcock was sincerely kind, knowledgeable and put my mind at ease. He spent time explaining things and made sure I understood what to expect during the visit. He didn’t rush the appointment and I appreciated that, since Doctors can be quick to rush out of the room sometimes.
The nurse was super sweet and helpful, sorry I’d forgotten her name. The front office staff were kind and check in was a breeze. The new location of the office is super easy to access and had lots of parking.

Always have a pleasant experience at the Women’s Health Domain. Dr. Chapman has been simply the best. I cannot recommend her enough. Knowledgeable and so helpful with explaining everything to me. She really takes the time to go over options and educate you on anything you want to know. I have a lot of medical anxiety and I can say I am more and more comfortable every time I have gone to the office because the experiences have been positive compared to other ones in my life.

I was especially impressed by the promptness in scheduling appointments, a stark contrast to experiences elsewhere. Their ability to clearly explain medical information and offer considered solutions is a valuable asset. It’s a place dedicated to patient-centered care.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Diana Wang and her incredible team! From my very first visit, she made me feel completely comfortable, heard, and cared for. She is not only highly skilled and knowledgeable, but also kind, patient, and truly dedicated to her patients.
When it came time for delivery, Dr. Wang and her amazing women’s team were absolutely outstanding. Their support, encouragement, and expertise created the most positive and empowering experience I could have imagined. They worked seamlessly together, making me feel safe, supported, and confident every step of the way.
I am so grateful for Dr. Wang and her entire team. They truly go above and beyond, and I would recommend them to anyone looking for exceptional care during such an important chapter of their life!

Dr. Diana Wang and her staff are wonderful! Everyone was friendly and professional. I was able to get an immediate appointment, unlike at another office that scheduled me for November. Dr. Wang is thorough and explains things in a way that I understand. She proposes solution options. Great doctor! Also, her office is clean and beautifully decorated.

Im new to this practice, but so far so good. Past experiences with other providers has made going to the Obgyn an anxiety inducing task, but I felt that the staff listened to my concerns and made things more comfortable for me.
Their telehealth option is nice for little needs. It was quick and easy and they were able to see me within the hour the day I called.

Dr. Wang and her team are very responsive, friendly and sweet. They always make me feel safe and well taken care of. Long wait, yes, but that means many trust in her. I don’t mind the wait time since it shows on their website timely so I can manage my own schedule accordingly.

I was truly blown away by the exceptional level of care I received. From start to finish, the one-on-one attention and personalized support far exceeded my expectations. Every interaction was handled with such compassion, patience, and professionalism—it made a world of difference during a stressful time.
The bedside manner was absolutely outstanding. I felt genuinely seen, heard, and cared for, not just as a patient, but as a person. It’s rare to come across a team so dedicated to delivering both clinical excellence and heartfelt human connection.
I can’t thank you enough for the incredible experience. You’ve set a new standard for what great care looks and feels like.

Terrible experience. During a transvaginal ultrasound exam performed by this doctor, I was treated roughly and ended up with severe pain and bleeding. I called back, talked to the nurse and got an appointment for the next day at 11am. When I returned to the office expecting to get the help I needed, she made me wait for over an hour after the time of my appointment , even though she knew I was in a lot of pain and worried about the bleeding. I felt disrespected and completely abandoned. I do not recommend her at all, as there was not only a lack of care during the procedure but also a total absence of empathy and responsibility in the follow-up.

I cannot thank Dr. Diana Wang enough for her exceptional care and expertise. My previous gynecologist was unable to explain the cause of my pain or provide a solution, leaving me feeling frustrated and uncertain. However, Dr. Wang took the time to thoroughly understand my concerns, explain everything in detail, and guide me on the necessary steps for future procedures.
I had lingering worries about my ruptured ectopic pregnancy, and she addressed them with such clarity and compassion that I finally felt at ease. It is reassuring to know that I am now under the care of an experienced doctor who genuinely cares about my well-being.
Yes, the waiting time was about two hours, but was it worth it? Absolutely! I would much rather wait in Dr. Wang’s office than keep ending up in the emergency room with a handful of painkillers or seeing a gynecologist who dismisses my pain. She is truly a doctor who listens, understands, and cares. Highly recommend!

My experience with Dr. Seeker was spectacular. He is kind and explains everything so well. It is clear he loves his patients. However, the billing and scheduling I have corresponded with have been a nightmare. It was difficult scheduling an appointment or trying to get anyone on the phone. The billing side has been worse. My claims for a procedure were not submitted under the same code and I asked why. After a week of waiting for an explanation, I have sent a follow up. I genuinely am not trying to be negative. I only would like to understand. They also incorrectly billed me for another appointment that was 100% covered. Needless to say, my confidence in billing isn’t high. So, as of this moment, great doctor and nursing staff, less than satisfactory administrative staff.

It’s taken me five months to write this review, but I feel it’s finally time to share my experience with Dr. Seeker. I had many expectations for my first delivery, but what I went through at this hospital was far from what I had envisioned.
From the start, the environment felt overwhelming. The hospital seemed severely understaffed, and it was clear the nurses were overworked. Medications like Pitocin were being pushed aggressively without much discussion or explanation.
When it came time to deliver my baby girl, Dr. Seeker’s actions were deeply upsetting. Without warning or consent, he performed the Ritgen’s maneuver — for those unfamiliar, it’s an extremely invasive technique involving rectal pressure to assist in delivery. This was completely unnecessary in my case, as I was progressing fine on my own.
To make matters worse, part of my placenta got stuck afterward. I was holding my newborn, screaming in pain, while Dr. Seeker manually tried to remove it. My epidural had failed, so I felt everything. He didn’t pause to explain what was happening — my husband had to step in and ask him to stop and communicate with us.
This experience left me traumatized. We didn’t even take pictures with our first daughter because of how raw and defeated I felt. Breastfeeding became incredibly difficult because I associated any discomfort with the intense pain I endured during delivery. After the unconsented maneuver, I also experienced severe hemorrhoid issues, and although I was told I had a second-degree tear, I could feel stitches reaching all the way to my rectum.
I understand that sometimes urgent actions are needed during birth — but basic communication and respect for the patient should never be optional.
Please, if you are considering this hospital for your delivery, I urge you to think twice. They are handling far too many births with far too little support. My hope in writing this is that no one else has to go through what I did.

Dr. Seeker delivered my first son and continues to be my doctor. He is incredibly professional, understanding, reassuring, and calm. You can ask him anything and always get a straightforward and honest answer. While he might run behind schedule (sometimes up to an hour), the front desk is transparent about it, and the reason is clear—he’s in high demand. For me, it’s absolutely worth the wait to see such a dedicated professional. His team is also amazing, providing excellent care and support. Highly recommend!

Dr. Seeker and his entire staff is the best. I have had some pregnancy related issues earlier and he made sure I get all support from him and his team before planning my pregnancy. He delivered my baby boy recently and I am so ever grateful to him and his entire staff. His presence and positivity makes all the difference and no words or thank you is enough for his dedication and work that he does.

I had an incredibly positive experience with Dr. Garcia. She is patient, knowledgeable, and takes the time to listen to every question and concern. I first visited her when I was 9 weeks pregnant, and every step of the prenatal and postpartum care since then has been amazing. I had to undergo a C-section, and she truly worked wonders—it was smooth and stress free. All thanks to her and the fantastic OR team. I highly recommend Dr. Garcia!

I’ve had such a wonderful experience with Dr. Garcia, both for gyne and OB care. I first met her for my IUD removal – I’d previously seen a different gyne who had been unable to remove it, the experience was incredibly painful and ultimately unsuccessful. She used ultrasound and numbed the area, and I barely even felt it! She was also my OB for my first baby, and her demeanour and approach to my care was kind and evidence based, valuing my personal preferences when it came to my delivery. Highly recommend!!

My husband and I feel so lucky to have gotten in with Dr Garcia for our first pregnancy!! She is collected, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. She makes us feel comfortable in every visit we have with her, with so many unknowns during pregnancy Dr. Garcia has provided a sense of calm that we have really needed. She listens to our wishes, questions, and concerns and always provides the absolute best information in return. As two former ER nurses my husband and I were nervous to pick an OBGYN for our first baby, Dr. Garcia has without a doubt surpassed our expectations.

There’s a reason Dr.Garcia has a five star review. She really is the best OB in ALL of Austin.
She has bedside manners, like no other doctor I’ve ever had. You can tell she is extremely passionate about what she does and very fascinated with the human body. Which makes her even more knowledgeable!
I remember after delivering my first daughter she showed me the placenta and she goes… “This is beautiful and you created it” lol Not the crying baby on my chest, But that’s when I knew that I had a doctor that genuinely loved what she did.
I’m so glad that the first hands that got to bring my daughters into this world was Dr.Garcia. I swear I would’ve held my baby in if they didn’t already wait for her to deliver them!
Thank you, Dr.Garcia for everything! Marco and I will never forget you

Dr. Garcia is the absolute BEST! If you are looking for the right doctor, do yourself a favor and pick her. She helped me navigate pregnancy and delivered my first baby. Delivery was an amazing experience, you even see her own excitement and how much she loves her job. She always made me feel so comfortable and it felt like visiting a friend. I struggled with some postpartum depression and she was so compassionate and also helped me navigate that difficult time.

I selected Dr. Garcia as my OBGYN after receiving glowing recommendations from several close friends. She has proven to be the best doctor I have ever had, demonstrating exceptional compassion, bedside manner, and a genuine interest in her patients’ well-being. When I experienced an unrelated medical event at 39 weeks pregnant, requiring delivery at another hospital, Dr. Garcia went above and beyond to ensure my care had a seamless transition. She personally reached out to me multiple times, collaborated with the maternal fetal medicine team at the other hospital, spoke to my surgeon via phone multiple times, and ensured that I was in good hands, prioritizing my and my baby’s health. Thank you so much Dr. Garcia!

This was my first time at the clinic and it was so nice. They worked me in quickly for an appointment which was the first nice thing then it is just a very pleasant clinic. The staff is kind and helpful and the NP and Dr really helpful. I noticed when there how peaceful it is there- big windows with natural light and a spacious feeling in the waiting room, but also low electrical lighting, nice music and a gentle very pleasant scent in the bathroom. When I left the office I felt so calm and relaxed. Not sure I’ve ever had that experience before. I am so glad I found this clinic for their atmosphere and their expertise

Dr. Uribe appears to offer a consistently pleasant and reassuring bedside manner. His long-standing relationships with patients suggest a level of trust and comfort built over many years. Many seem to value his skill and experience in handling complex medical situations, despite potential logistical challenges. It’s clear that his expertise is a significant draw for many seeking obstetric and gynecological care.
However, it seems the practice may struggle with efficiency and timely appointments. Reports of extended wait times and difficulties securing prompt surgical interventions are concerning. Improved communication and a more streamlined scheduling process would greatly benefit patient satisfaction. A dedication to patient accessibility is vital for a positive healthcare experience.

I started seeing Dr. Uribe about 29 years ago as my husband and I went through our first pregnancy. He and his team carried us through two pregnancies and two healthy deliveries, and Dr. Uribe was there in person for both. Recently when I found out it was necessary for me to have a hysterectomy, I went back to Dr. Uribe for the surgery. Once again, he and his team have helped me and my family through this procedure and it turned out to be a little more complicated than we expected once the surgery started due to previous surgeries causing a lot of scar tissue and a adhesions. I just really appreciate Dr. Uribe and his wonderful manner as well as his excellent medical Care, and the team he has put together are amazing. I highly recommend Dr. Uribe.

Dr Uribe and his staff have no respect for their patients time. I was seen for 2 appointments in office and both times had over a 2 hour wait. For the second appointment, which was only scheduled for lab and bone scan results after 2 hrs and 15 minutes I took copies of my results and left. Completely unacceptable especially because if a patient is more than 10 minutes late they are made to reschedule. Between those 2 appointments I had a telemedicine visit with a PA who proceeded to tell me it was illegal for her to have a phone call with me without video, which is 100% a lie. It was just a way for her to scam my insurance out of more money. AAOBGYN management could not care less what is happening in this practice.

For about 10 years my wife has been seeing Dr.Uribe. Its now her 7th laparoscopy sugery and he has not been able to help control her endo. He’s a very nice human being but now we think just has to much on his plate to handle. Took him 4 months to get her in for surgery while my wife was bleeding out. She was bleeding for 3 months straight and never had time to get her in to see her. Nurses completely ignored my wife for months until she landed in the hospital with no blood in her system. To the point we’re she almost passed. Very frustrating for sure.
At this point we are seeking help from out of state and other places that actually specializes on endo. I will not sit and wait around until he decides to perform surgery again to try and help her as that’s the only option he has really gave us. The staff was of no help and all they could do is apologize after my wife’s near death. God bless and I hope everyone finds the help they need. May God protect us all

Dr. Uribe is hands down the BEST doctor I have ever been lucky enough to be cared for by; an angel straight from heaven. His bedside manner is unmatchable. I can truly say that he has changed my life in the way I have viewed my pregnancy under his care. Not only an extremely knowledgeable, experienced and kind doctor, but a spiritual guide too if you are willing to listen.
I saw Dr. Uribe late in my pregnancy (almost 39 weeks) after one failed attempt at an ECV (by a different doctor, a horrible experience) to turn my frank breech baby head down. Dr. Uribe, after consideration and examination, agreed to try again for me and I’m so glad he did. The experience was worlds apart from the first attempt, he was much more gentle and thorough throughout the whole process. If anyone can turn your breech baby, this man can. Thank you so much Dr. Uribe and your fantastic team. I feel so lucky that I was given a second chance with this wonderful man as my doctor.

Frequently Asked Questions About Gynecologists in Austin
What exactly does a gynecologist do?
A gynecologist is a medical doctor who specializes in the reproductive health of women. Their care extends beyond just obstetrics (pregnancy care); they handle a wide range of issues, including pelvic exams, Pap smears, family planning, treatment of reproductive infections, and management of hormonal disorders. Essentially, they're your go-to expert for all things related to female reproductive health.
Why is it important to have regular checkups with a gynecologist?
Regular checkups with a gynecologist are crucial for preventative care. These visits allow for early detection and prevention of potential health problems such as cervical cancer, ovarian cysts, and uterine fibroids. Routine screenings, like Pap smears and mammograms, can significantly improve your overall health and well-being.
How do I choose the right gynecologist in Austin?
Selecting a gynecologist requires careful consideration. Look for a doctor with the appropriate credentials and experience. Consider their hospital affiliations and whether they accept your insurance. Read online reviews and ask for recommendations from friends or family who have had positive experiences. A good fit also involves comfort and trust in the doctor’s communication style.
What is the difference between an OB/GYN and a gynecologist?
While the terms are often used interchangeably, there's a subtle difference. An OB/GYN (obstetrician-gynecologist) specializes in both obstetrics (pregnancy and childbirth) and gynecology. A gynecologist, while also providing women's health care, may not specialize in pregnancy and childbirth. Both are qualified to perform routine gynecological exams and address women’s health concerns.
What should I expect during my first gynecological exam?
Your first gynecological exam typically includes a review of your medical history, a physical exam (including a pelvic exam), and a discussion about your sexual health, menstrual cycle, and any concerns you might have. The doctor may also perform a Pap smear if you are due for one. Open communication with your doctor is key to feeling comfortable and informed.
What does insurance coverage typically include for gynecological care?
Most insurance plans cover a range of gynecological services, including annual checkups, Pap smears, mammograms, and certain treatments for reproductive health conditions. However, coverage can vary depending on your specific plan and the services provided. It’s always best to verify your coverage directly with your insurance provider.
Are there specific gynecologists in Austin who specialize in adolescent health?
Yes, many gynecologists in Austin have experience and training in adolescent health. These doctors understand the unique concerns and developmental stages of teenage girls and are comfortable discussing topics like menstruation, contraception, and sexual health in a sensitive and supportive manner. Ask specifically for a doctor with expertise in this area.
What are the signs that I need to see a gynecologist urgently?
Certain symptoms warrant an urgent visit to a gynecologist. These include severe pelvic pain, unusual vaginal bleeding, persistent vaginal discharge, sudden onset of pain during urination, or any other unexplained changes in your reproductive health. Don't hesitate to seek medical attention if you are concerned.
How can I prepare for a comfortable and productive appointment?
To make the most of your appointment, prepare a list of questions or concerns beforehand. Be prepared to discuss your medical history and any medications you’re taking. Wear comfortable clothing that allows for a pelvic exam. And most importantly, be open and honest with your doctor, as this will facilitate accurate diagnosis and effective treatment.
What are some of the latest advancements in gynecological care being offered in Austin?
Austin is seeing advancements in areas like minimally invasive surgery for conditions like endometriosis and fibroids, more precise fertility treatments, and improved screening methods for cervical cancer. Many practices are also incorporating telehealth options for certain consultations and follow-up care.
