My wife and I recently purchased our first home thanks to Tom Oltmann’s world-class services. As first-time buyers, the entire process was a bit daunting before establishing a relationship with a loan officer: we had no idea who to contact first, what questions we should ask, what information we should prepare in advance, etc. Boy, did we luck out. Tom’s expertise was evident from the first conversation I had with him. Not only did he spend a good half-hour on the phone with me answering questions prior to entering into a formal business relationship, he also put zero pressure on us to go with him/Austin Capital Mortgage. In fact, he actually encouraged our desire to do additional research to make sure that he and his firm were a good match for us (huge green flag, imo). Having time and space to make one of the most significant decisions of one’s life, free from hard-sell tactics that leverage a sense of urgency into unprepared action, was incredibly important to us.
As we progressed through the buying process, Tom was always knowledgeable, personable, and, most importantly, a quick phone call away. We never encountered an issue that couldn’t be resolved by reaching out via phone or text.
I seriously cannot give Tom enough praise. He turned an intimidating and seemingly opaque journey into a walk in the park. If ever we find ourselves in a position that necessitates the purchase of a new home in the same area, Tom will be the first person we call.

Read this review if you want, but I’m sure if you’re reading this you were also having trouble finding a mortgage company. That’s not trying to screw you over. Thus was my experience In May 2025. Not only did Capitol mortgage dramatically beat another rate that I got, they closed in less than a month. No hiccups, no delays, no irritations. Tom Oltmann. Is. The. Man.
I’ve financed a handful of houses in the past with mediocre results, but the experience I had with Tom at Austin Capital Mortgage was off the charts. The personal touch was incredible. Tom was hands-on through the whole process. He didn’t hand me to the next department. He gave me an overview of the process, answering every question, contacting me if any help was needed, worked with us to get the DTI where it was needed and getting the whole thing through to the finish line. Closed my first transaction with Easy Street a few weeks after working indirectly with them for the past year. Before signing up with them as a solo broker, I had referred them a few deals I was unable to close with the bigger DSCR wholesale lenders & they were able to close loans I could not.
Was very excited to work with them for the first time & they exceeded my expectations.
Even with a slight delay on the borrowers end submitting documents we were able to close the purchase on time in only 2 weeks from the time loan was submitted to Easy Street Capital. This is basically unheard of with the big wholesale lenders.
Braden made things very easy for me since I don’t normally process loans myself. He was quick to clarify any questions I had and very responsive.
The closer we were assigned, Maddie was also great too!
Highly recommend working with Easy Street Capital on your next investment property loan!

Easy Street Capital is 100% legit and came through when other lenders couldn’t. I was looking to finance a property that didn’t meet the minimum DSCR requirements with other companies, so I couldn’t even get approved—even if I wanted to move forward. Zach Edelman worked tirelessly to get me qualified and made sure we got to the closing table. He was responsive, knowledgeable, and truly went above and beyond. I have worked with Easy Street as a broke on a few deals now and everyone involved in the process is extremely easy to work with. The communication is great and they get things done extremely fast. Be very careful dealing with this group. Especially first time flippers dealing with them on hard money loans. #1 thing they do not mention until 1 1/2 – 2hrs before closing after being asked multiple times days before closing is that your rehab money is not being funded to you even though that is how it is stated on their paperwork. It is a reimbursement of your own money that you spend, after they review to approve the value of work and money you spent. They pretty much stole $7,500 from us since they couldn’t provide that information until they did. We had to back out of the deal because using our money for rehab and getting reimbursed later was not what was planned or how they sold it and would have put us in a bad financial position since they could not give all the proper information upfront. Not sure how they legally do it because funding and reimbursing is 2 completely different definitions, so I would be very careful for any other words and definitions that they manipulate to put money in their pockets. Would not recommend these people at all there is a reason they have a F on the BBB. I just wish I would’ve paid attention. This is a group of people with no morals who is more concerned with putting money in their own pockets instead of being upfront, honest, truthful with people in the beginning.
