My experience with Strand Brothers Service Experts has been mixed. Initially, I appreciated the convenience of their Advantage Program, offering covered maintenance and repair services. The online appointment scheduling was straightforward, and a technician did arrive promptly. However, the emphasis seemed to shift toward upselling rather than providing thorough technical expertise.
While the technician was friendly and addressed the immediate issue, the feeling was that the focus was on pushing additional products and services. A more genuine commitment to customer service and a more comprehensive technical assessment would improve the overall experience. The value proposition feels diluted when sales tactics overshadow the core service offerings.

Strand Service Expert came to the house to provide our 6 month maintenance service. As part of our plan we are to receive a report of the service provided for 2 A/C’s. Since the report was never filled out by Service Expert, I have no idea if they did anything other than take a few readings and some pictures. When they tried to upsell a Hard Start Kit and I said not today, Service Expert was clearly annoyed and gave me the evil eye. Then suggested I call my husband then and there so I put Hub on speaker and Service Expert tried to sell it to him. When Hub asked a few question about a Soft Start Kit, Service Experts said it would be a whole new install . Strand used to be good, but now they are "Service Experts" and send sales people instead of actual technicians who know about products they sell. I could go on about how they give you a ridiculous 4 hour window to wait for the tech to arrive but y’all know.
We have used Strand for years and we upgraded our system to the Advantage Program. We love it because all maintenance and services are covered and we know we’re not going to have to pay out of pocket for any repairs. We started having an issue with the system cutting off late in the evening so I called to have them come out. Setting up an appointment online was easy and they came out the next day. Raciel was our technician. We remember him from a previous service call on our old system. He remembered our house as well. I had explained the issue on the service request and he already had an idea of what the issue was. He went up to our attic to clean out the overflow trap and blew out the line to make sure it was flowing properly. He showed me pictures of the issue and how he cleaned it out and recommendations to keep things clean in between yearly visits. Raciel is very friendly and helpful and is extremely thorough when doing his job. It’s great to know we are in good hands and that he’ll get the job done right the first time. We’ve always had a great experience with Strand/Service Experts and would recommend them to everyone.
Ivan came out to do our regular service after we had a brown out that caused our unit to blow hot air for 30min. He did the full system check, gave us the all clear and a possible explanation of what could have happened. He was super knowledgeable and very friendly. Highly recommend!
We had Strand Brothers out for what we thought was an issue with our water heater. Frank came right out and did a great job of listening to my concerns. It turns out that it’s actually an issue with the water softener, but Frank has been a huge help in diagnosing and recommending solutions to fix the issues. He’s given us multiple options to fix and/or replace, which is exactly what I asked, but even more than that, he’s made sure to provide recommendations and education around things to help with the water quality and longevity of our whole system. Thanks, Frank!
This was the first time we used Strand Brothers and we will definitely only call them moving forward. They understood our urgent situation and were very communicative from start to finish. The tech who came to help us was Christhian and he couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. He let us know everything he was doing, was very thorough and very quick. He made recommendations to improve our service and require fewer maintenance calls. We are completely satisfied with the service we received!
Called Strand for AC service based on their rating in Williamson County Best Picks Report. Showed up the same day I called. Turned out that the system needed to be replaced. Their assessment included identifying a number of significant installation issues with the original system which no other service provider has brought to my attention over the years. Very honest, all findings supported by pictures. AC System is cooling better than it has ever worked in this house and is highly efficient. In addition, the installation was timely, quick and very professional. Technicians were very pleasant to work with and even wore shoe covers when they came inside. I highly recommend their services. I wanted to follow-up on the second phase of my A/C replacement which was the extension of the supply side of the system. Three technicians Eddy, Juan and Jesus showed up on time and worked diligently to install a supply side extension. The work was neat and professional. As a result, we have noticed an increase in the system air flow output. Again, I highly recommend Strand for A/C and heating repair and installation.
I genuinely don’t know how they have as many good reviews as they do. We got a new air handler for $4,500 from them 18 months ago, and we needed people to come out three times within the first free months because several people installed the thermostat incorrectly, resulting in the air handler never turning off (and they tried to charge us diagnostic fees each time on the 2 month air handler). Then a month ago, the air handler sprung a coolant leak, and Strand said they could either repair it for several thousand dollars or we could replace the unit, but we would need to replace the outdoor unit too because a new air handler would not be compatible with the outdoor unit, something they apparently knew 18 months before but did not explain. So we took out another $9k loan from them so we could replace both units. They nonetheless charged us an $85 diagnostic fee that they said they would refund within a couple days of installing the new unit. Within a day on installation, the air handler needed repairs because it was making honking noises. They claimed it was a motor issue and it was back ordered a couple days. Three weeks later, we had not heard from them and about the motor, and they had not refunded the diagnostic fee. I reached out by email, and they followed up to say it was back ordered and asked if we "still wanted it," suggesting they never ordered in the first place. I reached out by email again confirming we still wanted it and requesting that they process the refund. I also asked them to confirm the extended warranties we were given for the inconvenience. No word from them for 6 days. I followed up again by email, again requesting a follow up and the refund. I let them know I would initiated a charge back with my credit card company if they did not process the refund. That got a response, and they finally processed the refund within a day. They still have not confirmed in writing our extended warranties, which I find exceedingly suspicious. They finally got the motor in and installed it today. But turns out it wasn’t the motor in the first place and now need two other parts. But worst of all, the unit that was previously working (and was just noisy) is not blowing cold air at all. We called at 7:50pm and are told that, even though they are 24 hours and broke our previously working A/C, no one can come until 4-8pm the next day. Do not recommend this company at all.
