Academy Sports + Outdoors

I have been coming to this Academy for over 20 years to buy many workout/ running shoes, adidas pants and shirts. I was shocked today when the afternoon manager told me that they could not exchange defective shoes that basically melted in a month. Academy has a 60 or 90 day return policy. I confirmed to the employee/young man that since I paid with a credit card that they would be able to track my purchase. He agreed but when he went to ask the manager, they refused to exchange the shoes because they were damaged. Then, tonight after I was done with my last appointment at my business - I went back to return the new shoes and new insoles that I had to buy today after they refused to exchange or refund my used "1 month" defective shoes. I returned the new shoes and new insoles because they made my knee and lower back hurt. I decided to ask the acting manager tonight why they did not give exchanges when the shoes were damaged or defective- he then said that they take care of their customers if they have a receipt or did a credit card transaction. So, I asked him why they wouldn’t exchange my defective shoes and then he said that he would have!!! I am disappointed in the way things are today. People are too distracted and careless because they put all their time scrolling through their iPhones! This world is going downhill and so is Academy. I am taking my business to Dicks Sporting Goods. It might be more expensive but at least I can could count on good customer service and excellence. I am posting pictures of my shoes that have no more support and are worn out after only 1 month that Academy would not refund or exchange today!!!

I shop here often for ammo and gun accessories the guy in the back with the glasses is always there lol he is very helpful but on the other hand I'm always being followed around like I'm stealing from the oval office even though I have not ever stolen a thing and when I get in line and place all my items of the counter they reappear to check if I didn't slip anything into my pocket and then when I pay like usual they're the fake smiles but other than that its a good place to shop

I went particularly to get a gel pepper spray whatever you call it, but I was also interested in the gun shop and I met a very nice gentleman named Tyler. I believe his name was. It was very informative. It was my first time inquiring about guns but he gave me so much information. I walked away, feeling totally satisfied, and it will help me build my decisionon next steps and if I decide to pursue that purchase or not, if I do, I’ll definitely go back either Thursday, Friday or Saturday when Tyler is there he’s there in the mornings.
